I wouldn't mind homebrew for the 3DS.
The games on the 3DS don't interest me much so piracy won't really happen on my side.

The only things I do with it is occasionally checking swapnote...

Please tell me you're kidding. Even if that was a joke I'd just like to say that this kind of opinion is what blurs the line between 'homebrew' and 'piracy' in the Media's eye.

Myself I'll be using it to play back-ups of games I own, yes. (after all who enjoys lugging around a big case with all their valuable games in?) And for maybe 'extended demos' under the 24 rule. But mostly for me as the same for everyone else I'm just waiting to see what kind of emulators come out of this and if we can do other cool stuff with it too.

Only time will tell.
Out of everyone I know personally, I am the only one that makes backups of my own games. The PSP could either be done by setting the USB device to the UMD drive, or Load ISO & backup a game directly onto the memory stick.

The DS was a little more tricky, as the DSi/XL and 3DS/XL have the Slot-1 power being cut off when ejecting a DS cartridge in-game. The DS line of games required either an original DS or a DS Lite, then one of two options; make a backup with a Slot-1 card and a Slot-2 card, or using the Wifi/FTP method. I could only get the Slot-1 + Slot-2 method to work properly, but IT IS NOT THAT HARD!!!!

People are just lazy and cheap, like that SaddQ jackass. Also, he better not give the usual excuses to justify himself...........

My favorites:

1) "Imma poor dude, so I cannot pay 4 dem gaems." (You can afford a nearly $200 system, but not a used copy of a game for $20-$35.....)

2) "Well, I don't like the developer(s)." (Yet they will spend time to pirate the games...)

3) "They don't deserve my money!!!1!!1!11!!" (You don't deserve the game. How about that???)

4) "I just want to try the game / 24 hour trial." (It has been a few weeks now, so......)

My favorite one was that someone here couldn't afford the games and claimed entertainment is a requirement for life, therefore it was perfectly fine for him to pirate everything because without it he would die.

I dont want it because if we hack 3ds mode and then we will be able to pirate games, which people will, and then the 3ds will lose a developer support

This is starting to sound like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Keep regurgitating this and the 3DS will lose support if piracy hits regardless of any effects (or lack thereof) from sales.

Public Service Announcement for those interested in 3DS GBA emulation: Check out Nebuleon's newest beta of TempGBA on DSTWO, GBA emulation on DS doesn't suck now!

No, not really. While the idea of homebrew is nice, I'd rather the 3DS not be abandoned to 1st party Nintendo and 3rd party pure shovelware as much as the DS was. (There were some 3rd party titles not shovelware, but those are the exception, not the norm).

It's not about how awesome homebrew is, it's usually about how clueless people equate homebrew with pure piracy, and then pull support.

Above me, someone said the focus will be on emulators. Got it about half right.....for a few, that's what will happen. The rest will focus on loading games for their precious "backups" (aka Lol free games, aka "I'm going to try before I buy, then never actually buy"). And then the 3DS will hit the same slide the DS did. Renegade Kid is already preparing their excuses.

I'd rather have some awesome new games made than be able to play the same old systems I can emulate perfectly well on my PSP.
Oh yes cause no video games are released due to piracy, this is the bullshit the game industry want you to believe. Since so few people hack their systems, there isn't much of a real loss. All systems to date have been hacked/still had many great games released for them. if we compare the gba/ds/3ds, the gba and the ds had much better games by now/were hacked, so if anything hack = better games (1st and 3rd party). :)

Yeah! A hacked and Homebrewed 3DS means I could buy one and customsize the sh!t out of it like I did with my NDSL.
I just love small things that do a lot.

Also, this would mean a small but powerful system I could try making games on... thought that would also require some developements or plugins with Blender...

As far as "piracy" goes; I'd rather download a rom and pay for it later than waist money I'd regret in the end.
Happend too many times to me and got sick of it. (not like I have a money tree growing somewhere)

Mainly a 3D video player so i could rip my Tron : Legacy 3D Blu-Ray and watch it on the 3DS, but of course i also want emulators, seeing that Android tablets can emulate PSX games, maybe PSX on the 3DS ? We can't ask the impossible either unless someone named crediar would develop an emulator for the 3DS, but yeah, mainly 3D video player and emulators

Oh?
I owned both those systems and I'd like to know just how many great games were in two years of release?
The 3DS has several really good games, for the DS by this time there weren't nearly as many good games. There could be more games, but quantity ain't quality.

Emulators only and MAYBE ds backup loader. No 3ds loader plz.But thats my opinion

And why emulators?cause playing snes gba in a Nintendo handheld seems more legit to me

And why? cause for example nintendo never releases mother 3 for example.Virtual console releases only some*classics which some of them appeal and some not

Anw as i said i cant wait for emulators and homebrew only

To pirate games that never release outside japan. Ni-Nu Kuni was one of the best RPG on Ds and they never release an english version. This is the reason why I want a Homebrew... I just don't want to miss great rpg games.
