@kowiia,
Inside ModMii's support folder, run "Casper2BootMii.bat", and it will allow u to make a nand backup of a virgin Wii straight from an exploit. Note that you could just softmod your Wii instead of taking the "abstinence" route. If you continue to try making neek to work, try different versions of neek. Instead of neek2o, u could try the original neek (disable the neek2o option in ModMii to build original version), or u could try sneek+di, uneek+di, or just sneek. If it continues to give u problems, I suggest you post your problem in the neek2o thread.

@ZippyDSMlee,
I appreciate the bug report, but ModMii's compatibility with windows is as high as it's going to get. On almost all stock installations of windows it works just fine, if it gives u errors it's likely due to an uncommon and\or unstable windows environment (which may not even impact most other apps so you might not even know something's up till ModMii throws an error at you) but still the issue is typically with funky windows installations, not ModMii.

Thanks Xflack, especially for the tip about making a backup. I moved the post here because I guess this is an issue with the nand, not neek, but I'm not sure. I have tried sneek mode (still neek2o) and uneek+di mode. Sneek mode had the same problem(and others), although I didn't try a nand that matched the game region at the time so there's still that combo to try. As for the di's well, sure there won't be a game disc bug because di can't read game discs at all as I understand. That defeats the point though, which was to install my discs on to the hd. Anyway, I'll try the original sneek I guess.

As for abstinence. I'm not really afraid of modding, but given that reprogramming is not a failsafe included in the wii bootloader and can't be for many of us, it seems to me that casper/neek is just the right way to do things with at most minimal mods installed to just launch it, which as far as I care certainly doesn't include bootmii in ios (if your tip works, bootmii as ios is useless it seems). It's already been neat to be able change nands instantly without worry (which the original can't do I think). I guess newer hbc versions will never run on neek and I can't tell if that's some self righteous moral reasons to take responsibility for other people's actions, or just compatibility, but clearly software can be written that runs on (u/s)neek(2o).

At some point I'll give up and just mod it. Around here, you can buy them modded and filled with games on the street, but that's paid redistribution of bootmii isn't it ;P , never mind the games.

@kowiia
you may also use this program i made to directly dump the nand to usb or sd without making a backup
http://www.mediafire.com/?2znybstu8no8b87

Thanks. I was looking for a simple dedicated program earlier to skip casper entirely. Anyway, I got bootmii to work. Actually before XFlak replied I figured out that the hackmii installer could prep the sd card without installing bootmii to the wii. The weird thing is that didn't work and XFlak's thing did. The only difference I can see is maybe the lack of a bootmii.ini in XFlaks method. I did try editing the hackmii .ini but it seems deleting it was probably a simpler solution. Anyway it's done, worked. Now I can see about learning to mod the nand for .*neek.* . This trick should be advertised more. Why tell people to modify things and THEN backup the nand when the logical thing to do is to backup the nand first.

Now to try the stock nand in neek2o..

Thanks I got it extracted.. I added a couple of wads packed from the modmii nands, wiiflow, postloader, and neek2o and booted it up.
It runs. Now popping in a disc freezes it, but the system menu still shows and the disc animation is still spinning, just cannot interact with it. The controller even still shows one light.

This wii's nand is relatively new. It's a real wii, not a family wii, but the ios versions are maybe not even supported by cIOSx. There are many more IOS's than in the modmii nand. And yet, it makes little difference. I'll try a couple of combinations with this, including unmodified, and then report back to the neek2o thread.

It seems like it's not entirely a nand thing and I'm way past anything to do with modmii.

kowiia: You try to run a Korean wii disc? Thats not possible with rev. 96, but current beta rev. (di module) can handle the Korean region discs and files.

Hi, I'm getting "Some downloads are invalid, missing, or not updated properly."

try again another time?

ModMii gives some kind of errors about WiiFlow not updating properly. It's a false alarm and you can just hit cancel if that's the case, but you didn't say what files are causing your errors.

sometimes the source locations for some files isnt up , its always going to be an issue with out sourcing the files needed. Either locate the files somewhere else , see actar's example a few posts back or so , or hang fire and re try modmii later.

Hi!

I ran the wizard, got all files but my Wii won't start the bootmii. The only thing that happened was that the date setting was reset to 2007.

I have tried 4 different SD cards, both SD and SDHC. I can put photos on them and the photo viewer will be able to see them, so I'm fairly sure the card reader is not broken. But nothing happens when I boot it.

I do have a modchip installed, a d2pro. I opened the wii earler and had it confirmed by Jdbye from the chat (which version it was). Does that matter?
It's an old Wii, with the GC controller ports.

Any ideas?

Ups. My bad.

The console was reset to 2007, but the letterbomb was posted in 2013. It just took a lot of scrolling.

Tsup fellas, long time no see in this thread. ModMii has made it so easy I no longer need support :P hahahaha..

well except for now..I figured this question might be easily answered here since u guys are pros. I have about 4 eNAND's on my drive I switch on the fly with neek2o, but I have different SM's on all. 2 have 4.1, one w/4.2 & one w/4.3. I'd like to make them all have 4.1 or even 4.3 if possible. I keep 4.1 on my real NAND but no biggie for eNAND's, I don't care.

I figured on 2 ways that would be easy enough, but I wanted to find out if they're safe and if they would work.

Method 1: Delete my 0000007b.app and replace it with 00000097.app in \nands\flownand\title\00000001\00000002\content, easiest thing to do I can think of, but not sure if it would work, there are .app files such as 0000007a & 0000007c and I don't know what to do with them.

Method 2: Use ShowMiiWADS to delete the SM IOS and reinstall the SM IOS that I want. Also seems easy enough, but again it might simply not work due to my limited knowledge on the subject.

If there is a simple way for me to upgrade/downgrade the SM please share, it might be as simple as installing the SM with a WAD manager as well, but I just thought I'd get creative and see what else I could do lol. Any input would be highly appreciated, and please no comments on "why would I want to upgrade to 4.3 from 4.1", I know there are hardly any benefits and so on and so forth. This is simply so I understand how things work with the SM and to have the same SM across all my eNAND's. Thanks guys.

Also I tried to edit my eNAND in ModMii to change my SM but there was no option to do so, it might be a useful feature/addition to some if you feel like implementing it xFlak, as long as it's not too dangerous of course ^_^

as scooby said, install the system menu (and appropriate non-stubbed system menu IOS) using wiimod on the Wii or showmiiwads\showmiinand\modmii on the PC.

In regards to adding it to ModMii, not very likely it's going to happen. I'm still happy to hear feature requests, it's just that it's got to be a bug or something truly intriguing to pull me out of wiitirement ;)

btw, great to hear from you, take care buddy.

Hey, i am rather new to this, working on modding my second wii - Wanted a wii with game cube ports. Either way, I cant seem to mod this one. the Modmii letter bomb is not showing up. i have followed all the instructions to the "T" and Even added a memo so that it i would work. Advise? I attempted many times and Verified the MAC Address is correct.

Vote withheld until I someone can help me get it working (hopefully without having to restore my NAND). I was previously on a 4.2u mod as of a year or two ago. Went to udpate everything to 4.2u (current, obviously).Went into MyMenuifyMod. I previously had the dark green wii menu. When I tried to install the blue menu, it said it worked, hit any button to go back to system menu, and then it went to a black screen, where a green bar flashed at the bottom of the screen for a moment, then stayed black. So I turned off the system, I can't get back into the system menu. So back in the HBC, I tried to install the blue menu again, same thing. So hard reset again, back to the HBC, tried to install the default menu, same thing. So now I have no access to the System Menu.

Can I fix this without restoring my NAND? Try installing a different menu? something else?
