From what I've seen, the levels are a bit larger compared to the character than in SMS; that means Luigi is almost a necessity right now.
However, Noki Bay should be easy to traverse as Mario if the layout is intact.
...
I'll use cannons and wing cap and Balloon Mario power ups to access hard-to-reach areas. Though some stars will only be obtainable by a certain character who is able to reach them. If it turns out to be necessary, I'll make all players unlocked by default.

Noki Bay's hidden walls and doors/passageways are intact.
...
Speaking of which, how are you handling the spray sections, where you spray a tile and a whole wall appears?
All hidden walls and doors/passageways are accessible by default.

Are you planning to make these playable levels with enemies and coins and stuff?
Yes, but only after I've all the models done. Each level will also have a secret challenge level, like the original. These will be new levels, as it's not possible to copy Mario Sunshine's ones.

Finished Noki Bay, including the underwater city, red coin bottle (not shown in video) and of course, Nokis! Video/screenshots in first post.

Next level'll be Sirena Beach with Hotel Delfino.

Awww... I was kinda hoping for Ricco Harbor next

Anyway, wonderful job with Noki Bay! The Delfino Plaza music is sexy, but the remixed underwater theme really takes the cake.

Does the waterfall work like a waterfall, or is it just as useless as in the original game?

Thanks. The underwater city music is just the original Jolly Roger Bay Music, but thought it suited well.

The waterfall doesn't really do anything. I wanted to have the entrance to the underwater city at the bottom of it but the entrances are too small to find so I had to use a warp pipe instead. I may do something later with metal Wario such as a secret level behind the waterfall or something. I'm planning on having lots of secret levels.

I don't remember Jolly Roger Bay having the beat in the background, but that could just be my bad memory.
More intruments get added into the theme the further you go in the level.

Surface - Normal.
Underwater - Extra Bass.
Underwater Cavern - Extra Percussion.

Interesting hack! I has been wait someone make a sequel of SMS, but this hack for SM64 DS is so awesome! I wondering that would change enemies or just normal enemies like Goomba? Is Bowser and Bowser Jr final boss?
Are you trying to make very-likely SMS for that DS? Just wondering... ^^

RyeGuy: You need to download xdelta (there's a GUI) and use that to apply the patch.

CamTro: I'll be adding Nokis and Piantas but the enemies will probably stay the same. I want to get most of the main levels from Sunshine but I'll be making new levels to replace the secret/challenge levels.

Pasc: It is possible to do (see Skelux's new video) and I will be doing it but there are some levels where it can't be done.

Fiachra can you make a video how to do it. I've tried. It never works for me.. ;-;
Download the attchment from the 1st post. It contains 3 files: PiantaVillage(E)14022013.xdelta, xdelta.exe, xdeltaui.exe.

Open xdeltaui.exe.
There are 3 boxes - Patch, Source FIle and Output File. Click on 'Open' next to Patch and select PiantaVillage(E)14022013.xdelta. Click on 'Open' next to Source File and open a clean version of SM64DS (E). Under Output File, click the "..." button and enter a name, eg. out.nds. Now click 'Patch'.
