Until a moderator sees the pile of reports targetting this thread.

I read the thread from start to finish and it got really bad around post #36, then better, then worse again. I read the OP as a simple notification that Tantric would like to open up some source to interested coders, and it became a flame war.

I just hope that the moderators accept my request to delete this abomination. As long as "certain" members stay on this forum, this thread will never turn back around as they will continue to seek to destroy it.

Yea, good job squarepusher and toadking, you've officially got what you wanted.

sorry you can't do anything other than play the victim.

all squarepusher posted was how instead of making a thread and asking for help you should instead do something. apparently that advice was a personal attack.

how about you leave this thread and pick up a book and learn how to code? here, have some free ones: http://programming-motherfucker.com/become.html

i personally recommend any of the "Learn XXX The Hard Way" books or if you feel adventurous "Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs"

It was an attack due to the way he worded it. He's been on my case since the 239p issue. And as for you, your really starting to push your luck. I'll continue to be as nice as I can, but your really starting to show your true self and I can see very clearly that your trying your best to piss me off with your "tiny" insults. You must think it looks very mature to insult others on a freakin' message forum. Hey everyone, Toadking wants everyone to see he's a big boy now! Lets all give him the attention he wants! :bow:

Please do yourself a favor and ignore me.

If everyone could just cut it out for a minute, I have something to add here.

If I take the OP to the letter, then the following are true:
(a) Tantric is the author of the Wii part of the 'GX'-named ports of some emulators;
(b) Tantric contacted nintygaming about the emulators;
(c) Tantric is busy, and would like someone to be able to continue his work, and is too busy to post, and doesn't believe there will be enough support;
(d) Following from (b) and all of (c), nintygaming is posting on behalf of Tantric to see if there's enough interest among coders for Tantric to take some time to give the coders access;
(e) nintygaming does not know how to code, or he could code it himself;
(f) Following from (d) and (e), nintygaming does not have a personal stake in the outcome of this thread, and only Tantric would.

From the context of this thread, I also gather this, which may be true or not:
(g) Tantric's GX ports of emulators are in RetroArch or supported by RetroArch.

In that case, a few people here are guilty of shooting the messenger, because it's not nintygaming that's going to give maintainer access or anything, it's Tantric. Personal quibbles are unwarranted; this is about whether you're interested in getting Tantric to give you access or not, plain and simple.

If (g) is true, then the RetroArch folks would do well to work with the interested coder(s), if any, to get patches for emulator cores that are as easy as possible to apply, or just get minimal "support" patches to hook into RetroArch correctly.

If (e) is true, then yes, that makes nintygaming a "user", but if (d) is also true, that makes him a user who's in contact with a developer. Don't shoot the user because he isn't a developer, instead accept or decline what's being put on the table.

There may be hope yet for this thread, but it won't work if no one sees the thread for what it really is.

I appreciate your rational input. I was a complete fool for biting the bait that was given to me and then things went downhill. Instead of biting the bait, I should have simply said "I'm a messenger, and this message is for coders who are interested." That should have been my reply instead of "I can see you still have some animosity towards me" and as a result I took the bait. Then the rest is history. I have learned my lesson the hard way, as usual due to my stubbornness.

And in regards to Tantric, it was after few conversations with him that I thought "Why not ask him if he would like to get a message out seeking coders" because I knew that otherwise, his emulators would remain unfinished and that would be a shame. So I asked his permission, he said it was ok with him but was unsure of the traction the thread would get. Nevertheless I stepped out on faith that the message would attract some coders.

Like you said, its ether "Accept or decline what's being put on the table". That was my intentions. That's the message of this thread.

I have read this whole thread and I will try to point out the wrongs here.

1. mr. nintygaming you can't ever complain about devs not getting stuff you want on there homebrew when the devs are giving you homebrew for free.

2. When you said (wasting hours of your life into code) you do realise thanks to the devs hours of coding we got amazing homebrew on many differnt consoles and devices, also coding is what make devices to help peolpe make there work easier.

3. When you told mr. libro your sorry, at the end of the comment you insulted by calling him a inmature kid. If you do that some people might take that the wrong way.

1. mr. libro your right if you work hard enough anyone can become a coder, but the thing is theres different levels of coding and some people are just not good enongh to reach at a advanced level or to a level that can help the scene.

over all mr. nintygaming it is good what your tring to sense your not a coding, but try not to complain to the devs about little things, that you think should be done already in there homebrew.

Mr. libro you are a great coder don't let one person make you quit when there so many other people that think your great,aslo dont aspect so much from other people, because there are people thats, just not good enoungh at coding to help out the scene.

Both of you are after one goal, tring to make the scene better, so no need to fight.

No complaining here. I'll bug test, then report issues if necessary (which is not a complaint of course). This thread is for coders who are interested. If they are not interested, then that's perfectly fine. Accept or decline what's being put on the table and that's final.

Retroarch doesn't use the same snes9x version, it's 1.52 with some optimizations.
What nintygaming wants is the retroarch's core with Tantric's great gui and features.
We don't have tantric's opinion, so we don't know what he really wants to do...

Moreover, there's already a solution to display covers, sort games, etc with Wiiflow.

Generally this type of request thread doesn't lead anywhere, but who knows?
I once started to port a game(bermuda syndrome) just out of curisoity when I saw a member talking about it.

Well, using SNES9x Next with Tantric's GUI and features was just a suggestion for the people who want to get better emulation out of Tantric's ports (no frameskipping, fullspeed Yoshi's Island and Star Fox, no input lag, etc etc). I know that alot of people would like to see this happen, so I figured it would be the next logical step for his ports. Tantric did tell me that he "could" try it, but he wasn't interested in actually going through with it.

What I find strange is that there has been 2 offers of help within this thread, which both went ignored.

Makes this thread useless.

If you're motivated and able to help, I don't think anyone prevent you from starting another project.
Snes9x-gx code is here and libretro cores are there
I'm sure some would be happy and encourage your effort.
