I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it's working in vWii. As for the vpn, I'm not totally sure. I know I have American Netflix in Wii U mode just by setting the DNS manually in network settings. From my understanding the settings should affect both Wii U and vWii. Have you tried the VPN settings in the Wii U opposed to your router. Not sure if that will help/work, not my area of expertise.

hi, So i'm in the states and want to get bbc iplayer working. Obviously it hasn't been released on wii-u yet but can i run the old wii version on the v-wii? In the past i have used iplayer on my xbox 360 by running a cable from my PC using 'internet connection sharing' . The wii U doesn't have a hard line and I was wondering if i could set it up wirelessly. I tried 'internet-connection setup - proxy settings' on the wii-u but i get 'error code:103-2103' and no joy. My router doesn't support custom firmware so i can't use DD-WRT. I am using hidemyass vpn proxy. Any ideas are appreciated. thx
Something you could try (assuming your network is set up like I'm imagining it) is disconnect your wireless router from your direct internet connection and connect your computer directly and have it share the internet connection across the wireless connection. You'd probably have to change the router address to something like 192.168.0.2 to make way for the 192.186.0.1 that the PC would have but I think it would still be workable.

EDIT : oh, and you'd have to turn the router's DHCP server off, too.

I was actually hoping for a wireless solution. I do like the idea 'direct internet - Laptop/proxy - router' but i'm using a laptop, not a base unit so it's not that easy to run cables through the house. Plus i would probably need 2 networking cards as my router doesn't receive wireless signals.
thx tho

So it is possible for the wii-u to use a proxy independently? I attempted it but i read somewhere that it couldn't be done and abandoned my efforts. What sort of proxy are u using - Open VPN, PPTP or L2TP? Do u have a link to a tutorial? I'm not an expert myself so any info would be great. thx

Yeah, you WOULD have to leave the laptop plugged into the wall while using a connection like this and I can see how it would be uncomfortable redoing the whole setup every time you wanted this or wanted the laptop to be portable again. As long as the laptop and the Wii U were both connected to the router normally, though, it should automatically pass through the internet connection shared by the laptop as long as the router's DHCP is turned off.

Good luck.

Lol, maxternal, what did I miss?
Not much. A thread got locked where they were fighting and so he started getting mocking, sarcastic PM's (from what I gather) and this thread must have seemed like an appropriate place to publicly announce that the PM's were unnecessary. ... and then the fighting continued. *facepalm*

Lol, who had thread locked? Pm harassment? I have been flamed, threads closed, lmfao.

Edit; wad thread? Did not seem like extreme flaming. Looks like a site member having fun intentionally trolling. I was emotional and truly was trying to share. Harsh for me to see hard core troll at work. Missing part about pm harassment?

I just happened to click on one of the members of that conversation near the end where some sarcastic comment was made requesting a console hacking service and it said "in a personal conversation" or something like that. That along with post #366 above gave me that impression.

EDIT : but this is getting even more off topic than it was before.

Ohhh, I saw your nice rainbow beam in wad thread. Tricking people by selling free software. A guy told me once he could not fix my 360. He would give me $15 for parts though. Well known modder in this area. $20 to diagnose also. I took it, researched it, and taught myself to solder. Saved the 360:-). People charge $100 and if they paid for parts I'd rgh their system. For like $30 or something fair. Soldering skills:-). Rgh takes time also. The idea of wronging people and duping them offends me.

Sorry, checked in and had no clue. Marcan posted on arm stuff, mystery arm treated as "Black box." Comex had tweet on waiting for linux, and that is all I've seen on progress. This brings back to topic.

Thanks to the guys at Chipworks and NeoGAF, The Wii U's GPU, "Latte" (C 10234F5) has has a basic decapping done.
(Basic meaning just a Top-Layer Die photo at an exorbitantly high resolution :P)

http://www.chipworks.com/blog/technologyblog/2013/02/04/looking-at-the-wii-u-graphics-processor/

Plenty of analysis based on the die photo has been done on the NeoGAF Thread, Check it:

Awesome, read 5 pages then skipped to last page. Thanks for sharing.

did they use acid to peel away layers and peek into the wii u gpu in one of those hi tech labs with exspensive equipment

"nintendo titles are gonna look stunning EVEN after ps4 and 720 have games on the market."...$$$$$

i didnt read much of it, its beyond anything i know, i just follw guides and try to make a buck, not tricking people some people just dont want to mess with anything technical even i wanted to tell them how to do it themselfs for free they would rather pay someone, rgh is easy, just 2 places that are a little difficult to solder but even that part is simple now that ive done it 100 times

Awesome features; ignore user. Forum says "Latest post by ignored user" but you don't see it. Another useful feature; write private message and "Lock" it allowing no replies;-). On topic; Marcan tweeted about going to plan b, and about neogaf gpu stuff. Said lazy or something like this in reference to plan b. Guess plan A failed. Fail0verflow tweet had some of this also but still; from Marcan and company.

marcan said about plan b almost a week ago...
Only saw it on twitter yesterday. My twitter app messed up? Or did you hear on irc or somewhere else? Any idea what plan A was and what plan B is?

Twitter showed FoF had it posted 2/4/13 at like 10 something PM. Not a week ago;-)
