Would definatly like to see the (August 06 EGM) rumoured Earthbound for ds pack with touchscreen capabilities. Other than that a portable chrono trigger would be awesome, gba, ds i dont care, just give it to me!

anything that can be played co-op over wifi.

the co-op mechanic is criminally underutilized; but mark my words.

co-op is the future!

Online co-op sounds like a great idea. Definatly under utilized.

I agree with that one. A remake or port of the classic beat-em-up game would be great!

Or they could just retain the old Guilty Gear game... The cell shading in Goemon looked great and if they used that to remake the classsic beat-em-up, I'm sure it would look great. I don't like the new Dust Strikers game. It just looks so bad and does a bad job of being Jump Superstars or Rave on the GBA, IMO.

The DS needs a classic beat-up-game

Well, a Katamari game would make sense. (except for the fact that Sony probably owns the rights) it would probably play a lot like Super Monkey Ball or some other such game.Â

Lol, Sony doesn't own the rights to that, Namco does. A Katamari game has been rumored to be in developement for the DS but Namco hasn't officially announced it.

Well, you can throw that rumor out the window because I remember in the DS VS. PSP issue of EGM, they asked a bunch of designers which they like better, and I'm almost positive that they talked with the Katamari guy and he said he had no desire to make a Katamari game for the DS. It's late right now soo I'll reference it tomorrow.
Dang, it would so good to have Katamari on the DS! The graphics aren't exactly hard to reproduce since it's all cell shaded but, I expect they won't create any titles for the DS seeing how well it's doing and, it's one of the only rare original games out there for the Sony consoles. One of their winners.

I'd like to see some more ports of classic SNES/NES/N64 games, but with DS enabled features. I'm thinking mostly RPGs since I feel it's a genre that hasn't been too dominant on the DS thus far. 2nd screen could easily be used to either track player stats/equip and/or a map.

Ok, I do know that there are some homebrew emulators that will play NES and SNES games but I find many of them only run good w/o sound and they still have problems playing some games (seems like the ones I want to play usually). I'm thinking of games like Chrono Trigger, Zelda OoT, Mario RPG, Earthbound would be very cool.

I’d love to see any true RTS, Starcraft, Warcraft, Command & Conquer.
With the stylus & duel screen it should port over very nicely to the DS.
“A touch of war” looks to be going in the right direction, but what the
hell is up with that game play?

There are several genres of games that unfortunately are under-represented (or don't exist) on the DS. I'd love to see more strategy games. Whether it be real-time base building or something real-time tactical (a la Sid Meier's Gettysburg! or Close Combat), I think the touch screen can be utilized effectively there. It could also use some more turn based strategy that isn't tactical, like Age of Empires or Advanced Wars, but rather something like Civilization or Populous.

Also, why are there no baseball games for the DS? The touch screen could make a fantastic batting simulator. Instead of it being just a matter of timing like most baseball sims, batting could more closely resemble trying to hit an actual baseball. As far as I can tell, there are no baseball games slated to be released for the DS. More sports games in general could be a very good thing for the DS.

I just think there's a huge amount of gameplay available for the DS with the touch screen that is not there for other handhelds or even console systems. I've played tons of PC FPS's but generally hate console FPS's because I don't like using a thumb joystick for control, but Metroid Prime Hunters was enjoyable because I could play with the stylus which felt almost as natural as the mouse. Similarly, I think other many control schemes on PC games could easily be incorporated with the DS and it's stylus (though you'd probably have to get creative with the D-pad, shoulder buttons, and regular buttons). I mean, I'm all for puzzle games and side scrollers, but it just seems like there could be so much more.

Perhaps the DS is seen primarily as a kiddie device and won't attract quality developers to create great games in the genre's mostly seen on the PC, but if so that's a shame. Perhaps I'm just too stuck on PC gaming. But I hope we can either look forward to developers taking full advantage of the stylus or homebrewers to port more classics over.

I'd like to see some point-and-click adventure games as well, a sequel to full throttle would totally kick ass.Â

Come on people, pitch in some more fantasy games in there
Would never happen (and that is why we have SCUMmmmm or what ever it is) but a new Leisure Suit Larry or a new Day of the Tentacle (like, a 3rd installment. you understand. moving along) on the ds with the ability to use the stylus as the pointer.

It'd be neat to see a Street Fighter game using the stylus as the way to pull off insane moves. It would add another dimension to an out-dated genre.

LBA2, right on!
North $ South, sweet!

How about:
Captive, Cannon fodder (stylus controled of course) Deuteros, Dungeon Master, hired guns ...etc. Basically A good Amiga emulator would do the trick for these. DSUAE

Outside of that .. Pikmin, Nox, Diablo, Utopia (yes, the Intelivision game!) , Lemmings, Megalomania, Colonization, Sim city ...
Now for some weirder suggestions:
"Michael Jordan Chaos in the Windy City", Am I the only one that loved that game?
Some game ALA Wing Commander, Freelancer or even Elite ...
...

now that Point Blank is out we could probably see a bunch of other "light gun" type games like Police Trainer or other on the rail type shooters.
