well it wasnt all bad you can release in some future a the way to make it 2GB some people may want that version because it takes less space but the original with no edition its still good if you want to see anything untouched

keep up the good work! this is awesome. Only wish I could be of any help to speed things up. Frustrates me that I've got a lot of time to spare and not be able to do anything to help out this translation project.

man, it would crush me if I saw this project die :(
really wish I could help. want to play this game bad! It's the only reason I keep my psp around.

hey! glad to see that the psp can play files bigger than 2gb =D but i do agree with Maxtram, not everyone has big memory sticks, so the edited file would be nice for them.
also the menu looks good :lol:

Guys one question, if I load UMD2 with no save from UMD1 (don't know it that really matters but...) I can't hear anything in the title menu (button click sounds are missing...?), is that normal or is it some kind of error in my game?

Think that may be an error.

Alright, seems to be some emulator glitch (now it has no sound, in the PSP it works alright but I could have sworn it used to play ok in the emulator too...) anyway... moving on...

EDIT: Well, I was right in the very end (after being wrong a lot of times lol): Even though the ISO bigger than 2 GB can boot, the PSP wont access any zone beyond the 2 GB limit (in our case, these are UMD1 videos), it won't freeze or anything, will just skip these videos so.... UPLOADING OPTIMIZED VERSION (it was a good idea to make it after all ^_^)

There, I uploaded instructions on how to merge both UMD's, as well as the needed files (in letitbit, sorry for that, it is 2:36 A.M in Spain and couldn't find a faster solution to upload everything today ;P, feel free to reupload the package), along with instructions for all.

So I would appreciate if you guys test it, while I start coding all the image reinsertion stuff. Let me know if anything is wrong!

Release notes:

---There is no point in intalling the game: When the original game installs, the data is encrypted before being written to the MS. This makes the install data slower than running
the game from an ISO file. This is why I disabled the installation feature, if you try to install the data, you'll get a message (god knows what it means), and invited to go back.

---When started, you'll be in DISC1, use the following cheats in CWCheat to freely change the current DISC at any moment:

***Insert Disc 1 -> 0x01651820 0x00000001
***Insert Disc 2 -> 0x01651820 0x00000002

You don't need to use theese if you want to play in disc 1 (meaning that DISC1 is default, note that this can be changed).

If you try to load a save game with the incorrect DISC, the result will be the same as in the original game (but come on, you can change it at any time without quitting the game).
Also note that if you change the DISC in the tatle menu, it won't change untile the next reload (E.G, go to the configuration menu, then back to the title and the new one will be there).

---Don't try the image extraction tool on this merged ISO, it would work, but I'm preparing a better one ;).

---I'm planning to add a button combination to swap virtual discs, instead of using CWCheat, but this would be at the end of the translation project, as I don't consider this an
important feature.

---What's been optimized:

***Video compression: There shouldn't be any noticeable difference between the originals and the optimized ones.
***Common files between both UMD's has been deleted (so only one copy of thenm is stored).
***Common files withing a same UMD has been relinked (that's why a new EBOOT is needed).

ohh.... Sky, um.... CWcheat?
Um... Will we be able to play it even if it isn't a merged version?
I mean, Disc 1 only contains The First & Last Chapter of the game. Disc 2, is the disc where you'll play most.
So in the future release, are we able to patch each disc?(not the merged version).
Well, I;m not really into CWcheats, Something inside me is resisting to not use it.

Just putting up my two cents here.
There was a project about FFT-0 translation and it have advanced quite a lot. Maybe we should ask the translators to share their files with us?

Thanks for your work Sky, downloading now! I have a question for you. I don't want to be rude or ungrateful. It's just curiosity: why not to extract part of the text first and then reinsert things in the meanwhile that translators work?
I repeat, it's just curosity, don't blame me guys :)
