I'm glad all of you kiddies can bypass the parental controls your parents put in place so that smashing Goombas doesn't look too gruesome.
I assume it could work by "ejecting" the flash repeatedly to keep the kid from playing. For ds mode, it might try to write a file to the sd to piss the 3ds off. Just wild guesses here.Speaking of parental controls, has anyone found out how this works?
The 3DS has parental control?
Swizzy releaded this morning a graphical gui providing the ability to bypass the 3DS parental control, thanks to some code released 6 months ago by.. neimod.
it was actually 2 days ago...code released 6 months ago by.. neimod.
yeah, i actually got one of these the other day for my brother...Speaking of parental controls, has anyone found out how this works?
<mercluke> anyone here familiar with how this works?
<mercluke> http://dicksmith.com.au/product/YG5536/3ds-parental-control-case
<mercluke> i bought one for my brother's 3ds and all it does is slots into sd slot and somehow puts 3ds back into home menu after a certain amount of time
<mercluke> i know it works but i'm interested in how the hell it does...
<@costis> does the game just exit
<@costis> or does the whole console reboot
<@costis> cuz if the whole system is rebooting
<@costis> it's probably shorting Vdd to ground
<@costis> which is bad bad bad
<@costis> lol
<mercluke> it seems to just be going back to home
<mercluke> but i'll watch more carefully next time
<Ciclo> I didn't know such a thing existed.
<@costis> it's most likely just shorting vdd and ground
<@costis> to trigger a brownout
<mercluke> yeah, seems to power it off completely
it was actually 2 days ago...
Fixed.OMG!!! IT CAN PLAY GAEMZ NAW!!!
Now I hope he can figure a way to remove the annoying camera picture sound when taking pictures (the shutter sound.) I'm not aware of a way to do this...
Yes, but this sound is being driven to the speakers through software. If they have full kernel control, then I am sure they can get rid of the part in the OS that provides this sound.Pretty sure the only way to do that would be to physically disconnect the speaker. It makes noise because of some law I guess.
