I think he meant the source codes, the hacking blueprint of your project, the .pak files that hold the dialog's and stuff, in order to continue the hacking...
I'm just a beginner romhacker, i don't have .pak files. All I do was hex editing using crystaltile2.
hello, i don't have understand one thing: the plot is translated or only the menus etc.?
What I had translated :
* Some pilots & mechas
* All skill parts & description
* All mecha parts & 99% description
* All spirits descripton
* Some menus
* Some attacks
Story or plot isn't translated.

I've attempted to translate some of the menus/items myself.. Downloaded CrystalTile2 opened up the patched rom.... saw the a fammiliar hex code screen.. now.. where is the menu text.

Edit:: Bah, .. nevermind. I need a W menu/item translation, not K. The K menu/item translation is perfect.

Not to be bad guy Daylendor but that work is far from being perfect.
It's a good start but can be done much better.

@ShinRyouma:
Nothing tested, just took a look some minutes at your work.
The following screens are hints for you.
Not easy to do but not impossible if you know what you are doing (probably you want to put the text in another sequence to make things more easy). There are maybe more blocks but i let you discover that :)

I believe that the bytes in the white area can probably be used without problems.

@ Auryn : I'm just a newbie romhacker (maybe I'm not qualified to be called newbie romhacker), my work definitely far from perfect, I don't even know what's in the yellow box area. I've done the best I could, I don't know any language programming, my skill is very limited, so I can't work any further. I did this translation because I like SRW series and I was motivated by Noitora. So if you like SRW games, please continue Noitora's and my work, I don't need any credit, but please give credit to Noitora cause he started the project. Thank you

I can't make full translation cause I'm lacking a lot of hacking knowledge and japanese language, so I mentioned in the 1st post that it's a menu translation.

@ShinRyouma: it wasn't meant as critics, i was my way to show you the right way to make things better.
Like StorMyu said, those are pointers. You can find many tutorials online about them.
Short version: think about a book, pointers are your index and they tell you where a chapter starts.
Same way a pointer in a pointer table (one of those yellow boxes) tells you where a phrase start.
Take a look at the first image, in the yellow block i marked, you have on 3° line:
84 58 06 02 / 84 59 06 02 / 24 59 06 02 / ....
Flip them
02065884
02065984
02065924
this are 3 pointers.
you can forget about the 02 and so you get
00065884
00065984
00065924
if you check this addresses in that image, you will see they show you the beginning of some if your names.
Sadly you have 3 blocks and they are all intermixed and not in a nice sequence but if you map those out, you can change the sequenze (not required) of the text to bring some order on it.

Don't point it out like that,

NDS9 Memory Map
02000000h Main Memory (4MB)
That's where the arm9 is loaded for instance, and the pointers are relative to the adress of the file in Ram, that's the difference between Absolute and Relative Pointer.

So to know where a pointer in the arm9 is, you just have to take:
Adress of string in arm9 + 0x02000000
And of course you reverse it because it's in Little Endian, and you've found it.

What I've been translating untill Patch4b :
  • Some pilots & mechas
  • All skill parts & description
  • All mecha parts & 99% description
  • All spirits' description
  • Some menus
  • Some attacks
Download patch : http://filetrip.net/f5657-Super-Robot-Tais...-Project-2.html

Download patcher : Kaioshin's Xdelta UI : http://www.romhacking.net/utils/598/
or http://filetrip.net/f6934-xdelta-UI.html
Could you put this translation patch on http://www.romhacking.net/ .

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
