Ok I have tried everything and cannot figure out what is wrong. I followed the guide, saved the walkthrough as a text file, copied and pasted the name of the nds to be sure it was the same...and when I open game guide it acts like it is going to load, then gets stuck at 99%...I have tried a couple different games, can someone please help, I have search everywhere for answers:) Thank you in advance..... could it have anything to do with the fact that I am using imenu? Im stumped

It's not iMenu, that doesn't affect the real time menu. I'm not really sure what's wrong, I'd just try reformatting with the Panasonic SD Formatter and redownloading EOS from scratch and overwriting your current system files.

I'm having trouble getting a custom made guide from dipslaying properly. I'm taking the pdf "wild pokemon" list from Voltwhite 2, converted it to text file, did as instructed, and it comes up garbled, like

A

fe4
qewrif

etc etc.

Tried it again, this time to a word document, manually removing all pictures and autoshapes, converting back to a pdf and then to a text. Same problem.

It should be noted, that the guides provided (specifically TWEWY) worked fine. So I don't know what's wrong, they're both text documents. Is it because it's a hacked version? I'll admit the text document extends a bit futher then the TWEWY guide, is that an issue? (length wise on teh page)

Hi, sorry to revive a dead thread but I'm looking for some help with getting game guides to show properly on my DSi XL (ver 1.4.5u):

I downloaded the game guides pack you provided in the original post and followed the instructions down to the last letter - placed guide with game and renamed the TXT file with the exact name of the game, excluding the NDS file extension. I checked on my laptop (Windows 8.1 x64) that the guides had text in them and inserted my DSTWO (firmware v1.25) into my DS and booted up the game I had recently been playing, "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney". I pulled up the DSTWO in-game menu and selected the "GameGuide" option. When I loaded up the guide, there was no text, nothing at all. I could tell my DS wasn't frozen or anything as I could scroll up and down on the touchscreen and could even exit back to the game, but the entire file was simply blank. I even checked the file again on my laptop and it seems that the DSTWO had somehow wiped blank the entire TXT file. I checked each and every single guide I had added onto the flashcard - all from the zipped folder you'd attached to the original post - and each one was completely blank when I know that there was text before.

And no, the TXT files were not named *.txt.txt - I'm not that much of a n00b....

I hope someone will be able to help me out? Thanks for reading, and sorry for the trouble.
( TT u TT; )

----------
Edit 1:
I've just tried to play with the encoding of the TXT file in Notepad. I opened up the original guide file for "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" from the attachment, copy-pasted the text into a blank Notepad document, and saved the file as Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney.1.txt, *.2.txt, *.3.txt, and *.4.txt, one file for each encoding type. Popped the flashcard into my DS and booted up the game. All four encoded guides showed up in the "GameGuide" menu; all four were able to be loaded by DSTWO; and all four were wiped completely blank. Popped the microSD card and adapter back into my laptop and checked all four files - verified that all four were wiped completely blank.

Is there another way to show real-time game guides using DSTWO? I would like to avoid having to manually make everything into a BMP, but if I must and there's no other way....

----------
Edit 2:
Out of curiousity, I opened up the readme-eng.txt file I had thrown into the root folder - also blank. ...does DSTWO have a new vendetta against TXT files or something?

----------
Edit 3:
I also forgot to mention that this was all done with no plugins added to the DSTWO. Is a plugin necessary to have the flashcard run TXT files?

----------
Edit 4:
I've finally gotten around the corrupted guide files!! Whether it was due to moving my ROM files around or the exploding bits of TXT data flying around in my SDHC, but my game files had somehow gotten corrupted after all of this, and thinking that the DSTwo was bricked, I gave in and bought myself another flashcard - an R4i Gold 3DS this time - but I decided to give the DSTwo another chance. I re-downloaded all of my ROM files (some hundred or so game files) and set all of them to "Read-only" in the Properties. Then I had an idea: What if I set the TXT game guides to "Read-only" as well? I set up a separate SDHC card (no way was I going through all that downloading again), loaded it up with the DSTwo EOS and update files, plus the game ROM and guide set to "Read-only," and it worked!! I don't think anyone else will be as unlucky as I am, but just in case, I wanted to put this out there.

Is it possible to have game guides and images at the same time? If I wanted to create one large image containing the entire contents of a guide, would that work, or can I use multiple images?

I am sorry to reply to this where the last reply is in the 2014 (and revive an dead thread) but I need some help to my current problem.
But before I start I like to say a few thing:
1. For what I have search thougth Google there are lack of info about this "real time guide" (it in the RTS menu where you can choose to open an guide in there.)
2. I do NOT have an DSTWO but I do have R4 3ds gold pro that have moonshell two installed in it.
3. This site* is an click bait due to having an keyword "real time guide" but lack info about it.

Now this problem that I am having right now is that I added the TXT files but does not find it (it in the same folder where the NDS ROM at.)
I've rename the TXT file so it match the ROM name (however the ROM filename originally was long but I had to shorten so it can be moved in there.)
I did every thing except formatting it with Panasonic SD Formatter or put it in read only, so what I am doing wrong?

* Because I signed up just for this I can not post this with an hyperlink in it so I put the link here:
http: $$ 3ds-flashcard % com $ blog $ how-to-use-r4i-sdhc-3ds-rts-real-time-save-and-real-time-guide-functions $
Replace the $ with / and remove the space in between in it.
Also replace the % with . and remove the space in between as well.
