@damysteryman:
Any update on the status of the IOS58 patches? i would like to try them if you could incorperate the updated patches into your "IOS236 Installer Mod vWii Edition" app. my assumption is that YAWMM will work without panicing once IOS58 is properly patched or am i wrong?.

also, i am wondering why some wads refuse to install even when the ticket is zeroed out for console ID. my zelda-link to the past VC game throws the corrupted wad error when repacked with zeroed out ID where as Check Mii Out channel installed fine once that was done to it. (i packed and unpacked using wadmii 0.3)

@anyone reading this post:
have you successfully installed a wad of Zelda:Link to the Past on the vWii or does it throw errors also?

I have a few questions:
1. I have not tried FSToolbox from the .dol file yet. When I did try the NAND dump earlier(Through FSToolbox .elf file) and it failed anyway, what do I do with all the folders it creates(data, meta, shared2, etc.)? What file do I use for the ShowMiiWads?

2. What does IOS58 do/used for and did "damysteryman" fix it?

Please help and thanks as always :)

the upside to the WiiUHax link is that it includes a valid vwii IOS36 wad. if you cant seem to get your nand dumped then that would be your best bet for acquiring one. although I still strongly recommend dumping your own so you have a full nand backup to pull stuff from later on.

Updated stuff:

IOS 236 Installer (latest HW_AHBPROT patches): http://downloads.nanolx.org/IOS236_Installer_MOD_v6_for_vWii_dmm.tar.bz2
YAWMM DE (latest HW_AHBPROT patches): http://downloads.nanolx.org/YAWMM_DE-rev5b.tar.bz2 (tested on real Wii aswell -- works)
FS Toolbox (latest HW_AHBPROT patches): http://downloads.nanolx.org/fstoolbox_ahbprot_mod_dmm.tar.bz2

BlueDump is one strange: rev03 does fully work, but rev04 with new HW_AHBPROT patches does not... either way, here's rev03 that works dumping WADs:
http://downloads.nanolx.org/bluedump_alpha3_german_mod.rar

YAWMM DE and BlueDump have german localization.

--- I wonder why everyone uses Wiixplorer, if they can start directly from HBC?

thanks for the updated apps. ran the IOS236 Installer and it installed just fine over the Old ios236 that i had installed via IOS236 Installer with the V1 patches.
YAWMM DE works fine and was able to use it as i pretty much memorized how to use the English one on my Wii.

for people using WiiXplorer, its probably because i mentioned to use it in my instructions i posted earlier as FS Toolbox error -102'ed on me when run via HBC directly.
i got around that by running WiiXplorer from HBC then FSToolbox. that was with the older v1 patches tho and have not tried to dump nand again with the newer patches as i do not need to dump it again since i have a nand backup now.

well i was able to dump my NAND only after using MMM to load up the modded 236 ios and then using that to launch FS toolbox.

Just in case nobody knows this, I used the Lego Indy exploit to install HBC on Wii mode, just saying since all I see mentioned anywhere is smash stack.

Just a note to people who install fakesigned VC,WiiWare, or Channel wads. they will run fine from System Memory but will refuse to run or copy back from SD Card. I Installed the Internet Channel from DOP-MII so its not fakesigned at all (since it downloads directly from NUS and only uses the anti -1017 patch to install it) so it copies and runs fine from SD Card. so does my retail shop VC and WiiWare. Sonic 4 EP1, which was a fakesigned wad installed and ran fine from System Memory and even moved to SD fine but refuses to run or copy back. same with Kirby64 and Starfox64.
for some reason. ToeJam and Earl 2 works from SD Card even tho it was fakesigned.

to reinstall the ones i moved to SD. i had to delete them from SD via the Wii Menu and Install the Wad's again. Problem is i am out of room since Nintendo and their Infinite Wisdom decided to not up the Nand to 1GB at least, which they could of easily done since they bothered to create new vWii IOS's and a new encrypted System Menu. they easily could of adapted WiiMode to work with a 1GB Nand or bigger even.

the Check Mii Out channel and Everyone Votes channel refused to run from SD and to copy back also but they do not work anyway as they need WiiConnect24 Enabled.

This means the System Menu must be doing a separate check on whats run and copied from the SD Card. that means that the only way to fix this would be to develop a PriiLoader like solution for patching the System Menu or a more dangerous StartPatch like approach. now it makes sense why Nintendo Encrypted the System Menu.

so for those having trouble dumping your NAND i was able to get FS toolbox running properly with the -1029 error and not the -1017 error by putting it in my sd:/apps/fstoolbox/boot.dol and launching it with multi mod manager through the app manager other methods using homebrew channel or wiixplorer resulted in the -1017 error which prevented me from dumping my NAND properly. just heads up give Multi Mod Manager a shot to see if it helps you.

within multi mod manager there is an item that says app manager that allows you to launch apps.

also got it working properly from homebrew channel now the trick is to have a meta.xml file in the sd:\apps\fstoolbox folder

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<appversion="1.0">
<name>FSToolBox AHBPROT MOD</name>
<coder>nicksasa, Lupo96</coder>
<version>1.0</version>
<release_date>01-13-2012</release_date>
<short_description>A WII FS Swiss Army Knife</short_description>
<long_description>This is little yet really usefull utility originally coded by nicksasa and then modified by Lupo96 to use AHBPROT with IOS58.
Based on FSToolBox v4beta, may be unstable.
You need HBC 1.0.8 or higher to run this!!!
Find me (Lupo96) on wiitaly.altervista.org</long_description>
<no_ios_reload/>
</app>

Also got WiiXplorer working by adding <no_ios_reload/> right before the </app> tag this appears to enable / disable AHBROOT access for the application you're launching

What is all that coding for? Do I need to do something with a meta file to get IOS236 to work?

You may wish to remove Nintendo's copyrighted content from your "hax" site. Rather quicky. Call this a timely warning hint.
Oh... oh no. That email just sent. Tick, tick, tick...

I am still having trouble trying to dump the vWii NAND. I am unable to boot FSToolbox through MMM like a previous post suggested, and am still getting errors -1017 and -101 when booting FSToolbox dol file through WiiXplorer from HBC. Thoughts appreciated :)

I just got this all working up to installing HBC. Can someone run me through a "dumbasses guide" to dumping my NAND and then modding my IOS236? I'd rather do that than download something off freaking sendspace. :P
