Hacking group targets social gaming company for "outrageous treatment" of employees and developers; claims it will release confidential info Nov. 5 if demands are not met.
Wonder whats up. Anonymous are dick heads, cause this can cause people to lose their jobs. And losing jobs is awful. I don't believe a word they say -- "outrageous treatment of employees and actions against many developers."

You haven't READ a word they say, you mean?
The note goes on to claim that Zynga is currently planning a "massive layoff" scheme that will mark the "end of the U.S. game market as we know it." According to the post, if Zynga does not cease its plan, Anonymous will release confidential documents concerning the company.
If that info's true, then it seems that Zynga's planning, on it's own, to do a huge layoff, and 4chan doesn't want it.

That seems a little odd though, unless controlling members of the group work there...

The point of Anonymous is there are no controlling members, no ranks, everyone is truly anonymous. That being said, Anonymous of last week might be completely different than Anonymous of a month ago. There is no "Group" either really. Anonymous is just Anonymous. People are once again treating them as a concrete entity, when they are the complete and total opposite.

Anonymous has nothing to do with 4chan, and furthermore it's not like having 'confidential info' (very likely just passwords) will stop anyone from doing anything, Anonymous is the most pathetic group of script kiddies I've ever seen.

There's people on IRC and such that organize and give direction. This has been shown multiple times in the past. We're not dealing with a stand-alone complex like GITS, we're dealing with modern humans.

That being said, Anonymous of last week might be completely different than Anonymous of a month ago.
Correct, and I'm talking about the people of this specific incident/movement.

There is no "Group" either really. Anonymous is just Anonymous. People are once again treating them as a concrete entity, when they are the complete and total opposite.
These kinds of threats were not spontaneously made into existence by an act of god. This kind of info was not found out by nobody. The posts were not created by a butterfly's wings.

There's one or more actual humans doing this, and they're doing it for a reason. When "Anonymous" calls in a movement, it's because one or more humans called it. The fact that they go to lengths to hide their identities (on systems that don't do it automatically, such as IRC and forums/e-mail) and the fact that the result is a group effort doesn't hide the fact that there's certain people who make these movements in the first place (and take the leading actions).

And I'm theorizing on why this type of movement was made.
