Glad it's not just me - wouldn't mind this crash terribly if beating the Driftveil Tournament wasn't an actual plot point! Are you on White 2? Has anyone experienced this with Black 2?

EDIT: Didn't have to go back too far to find a recommendation to use a clean ROM in clean mode. Lord almighty it is sloooow!

And my question is if that should be possible in the future. I know you guys had alot to do. And just release ver1.62b But i am not talking for myself. i Know its alot of people around the globe. Thats want the r4i-sdhc support pokemon black and white 2. But thats all i got to say.

Actually, I DID try it and Jiehfeng's right. I did the SAME thing and for Clean Mode, it gave me a black screen with music at the title screen. I used two different patched roms and both had the same problem. I used the DS-Scene ROM Tool AP patch AND the Dicastia Patch. Same issue. So, before you start trolling people, learn the facts first. That's EXACTLY the reason you don't want to show pics. You're a troll. I think the 5 post count says it all.....

I'd hate to like... support the guy who seems like he's trolling, but changing to Clean Mode was what fixed it for me.

Not saying your complaint isn't legitimate or anything stupid like that, but it seemed to work for me.

Unfortunately I can't really like... help beyond that. I got my rom off a site that said it was already patched and like the rules say, linking to roms is a no-no.

I don't see what posting pics would accomplish, since it's just the game playing on my DSi. I could have just as easily bought the game and been trolling you the whole time.

tl;dr - Tried the clean mode thing and it worked for me. Sorry it didn't work for you buddy. Give it a week or so? >_>

Yea, I notice that the DSOne and DSTwo seem to be a bit slower in places than other flashcarts. Which I find amusing seeing as especially the DSTwo has a built in processor, and yet I got less slowdown in games on my old Acekard 2i.

EDIT: You know that awkward pause when you bump into a spy in TF2 and you just stare at each other for a second? Yea its like that, except almost every time the music changes.

Yup, had a lovely Acekard 2i also but sold it in favour of my DSTwo and its fancy processor and GBA emulation possibilities among other things!

That said since running patched White 2 in patch mode I've not had a problem up until PWT - it was running beautifully. Cry...

It was painful but managed to get past PWT on clean ROM in clean mode. More hassle than it's worth, possibly. Hope there's a less intrusive fix soon!

Anyone else attempting this way of getting around the glitch, be patient. If you have a black title screen with music playing, let the music play through entirely once. If it seems to take a while to load the next screen during gameplay between room/battles, just wait... it struggles, but it gets there.

I found a pretty easy way to get around the Driftveil Tournament glitch that you can use.

WARNING: Make a backup of your .sav before attempting this in the event something goes wrong. I'm not responsible if your save file is lost forever as a result of this.

1. Take the .sav file from you flashcart and put in on your computer.
2. Download Desmume and start up White/Black 2. Exit the emulator.
3. In the "Battery" folder, put the save file from you flashcart here. Make sure it has the same name as your rom.
4. Open up Black/White 2 again and complete the tournament.
5. Save your game as soon as possible.
6. While the game is still running in Desmume, go under the "File" menu and select "Export Backup Memory".
7. Assuming you're on Windows 7, on the drop-down menu called "Save as type:", select "No$GBA save format". I assume this will work with every version of Desmume.
8. Replace the save file you just exported with the old save file and now you're finally past this section of the game

Note: I've only tested this for Supercard DStwo. This may work with other flashcarts, but I make no guarantee. If you've followed these steps and still can't get it to work, send me your .sav file and I can complete the tournament for you. In the event the game freezes again, you can use this same method to bypass it as well.

This is interesting. Everyone seems to be reporting this to be happening with White 2. I'm also playing W2. Can anyone confirm that this is also happening with Black 2?

(For the billionth time. Panasonic formatter seems to be a myth that just won't die...)

EDIT: Goddamnit. I went and googled the issue and found it also mentioned on a forum that cannot be named here, and AGAIN the person was saying the issue was occurring on WHITE 2. Is there anyone who can report this in BLACK 2?

Using a dstwo, the PWT crashes for me too as soon as I beat my rival. This is kind of gamebreaking for me since the PWT was one of the main reasons I'm playing this game, so no I can't just load it on desmune and be done with it, kinda of defeats the purpose.

Will there be any sort of patch or something so I can wait for it or I should just pretty much stop playing the game altogether?

A possible fix:

Just before starting up the game press X. Switch it to play Clean Mode instead of Patched.

Apparently the patches available on different sites affect the PWT differently. The DS-Scene and Discastia patches seem to not do enough in order to work without the DSTwo's built in AP bypass. The Romulation one on the other hand does work but is slow as balls. The actual speed of your microsd card also appears to have an effect on this.

Then again, the rom hasn't even been out for a week. Give it a week or two and I am sure someone will figure something out. There hasn't been a game yet (Besides that Serious Sam game, at least as far as I know) that was immune to hacking.

Figured I'd throw in my own report of how it works on the iTouch 2 DS.
Using RetroGameFan's YSMenu 6.88 (M3Real_M3iZero YSMenu folder), my personal, clean dump of Pokemon Black 2 worked just fine for the two hours I played it on my iTouch DS in my DS Phat using a Sandisk Class 2 8GB Micro SDHC. I cannot confirm beyond that playtime if it continues to work (partially because I got busy and partially because I'd like to play the game on my own copy on the 3DS) nor can I confirm whether White 2 works. That said, if both games work on YSMenu on other cards, there's a good chance they'll work just fine on the iTouch DS.

Figured I'd throw that out there for the three people who still have/use one of these things.
