Go back to basics.

Get your emunand setup, copy loader.dol to usb:\apps\triiforce folder and rename it to boot.dol

Run boot.dol from HBC and make sure that your installed tiles are loading when run directly. If you can't get them to run direct you will not be able to run them with a forwarder.

If they crash, try again with different options set (usually video)

If you cannot get them running this way then your wadfile is corrupt or maybe the nand is not setup correctly.

Once you do get them running directly they will run via ISO forwarder with the same settings applied in Wad2ISO's options screen ;)

:// EDIT

Just a thought - You do know that your EmuNand must be setup in the ROOT of USB: or SD: right?
(Some later apps allow it setup in a folder but this is NOT compatible with Triiforce)

Yep, I know all this. The issue is something to do with emunand I think. I'm pretty sure I can get it to read no problem if I'm on a later cios, but then the issue lies in needing r17 to do n64 vc games. The forwarders are working no problem, cause I was able to get them to work on the rare occasion my emunand was read (only when I dumped it with usbloader GX and made absolutely no modifications to it before going into triiforce). Triiforce just doesn't like me for some reason, it crashes before I even get to select a game when it tries reading the emunand in most cases. I might just get the glitchy emunand that usb loader creates back, then use it to make forwarders for Mario Party 2 and Smash Bros (the only working games it seems to produce) then install the rest I plan on using to the wii menu. I should get most of them on that way I hope, I just can't figure out why Triiforce only works with that one way of dumping my nand. Bootmii, fresh nands, the one I use normally for USB Loader GX all crash it, I've gotten to the point where I just can't understand why it won't work or where to try tampering with it. But anyway, it's not a major loss for me and I can live without being able to access a few games at a time.
Thanks again for all of your help and such.

Until I can find a better emu loader that accepts inline arguments, we'll have to endure the failings of Triiforce.

I use d2x in slot 249 and have rev17 in slot 199. The few wads (n64 or otherwise) that misbehave using default cIOS
are loaded with cIOS 199 selected. Some titles will not run from Emu Nand at all, so these are run from real nand.
I am having no problems running any of my titles with the above setup ;)

I never get crashes with d2x and forwarder ISO's. I use base 56 on slot 249 to load Bomberman and the few WiiWare games I have with online functionality. I'm on the latest d2x but I had earlier versions when I started using wad2iso. Make sure to specify the correct slot when building the ISO.

I have never used 222 for anything. I launch the ISO forwarders with d2x 249[56] and set them up to use that very same cIOS to launch the game through triiforce and they work every time. When I've run into trouble is when I've tried setting up some ISO forwarders to use 38rev17 to launch problematic VC N64 games that don't work with D2x, but the results have been very unreliable for me so now I just install a few of those games on real and launch from there. Other users have reported very good results with that setup, though.

That hack you see in my Wiinertag is CTGP Revolution. It contains over 100 tracks with a modified track selection menu. I admit that much of the custom tracks are not very good, but most of the ports of tracks from older games are terrific. This is the main reason I play it. You can also play these tracks online with other users of the hack but I don't do it often because I don't really like the non-port custom tracks that much. A new version is about to be released in the form of a channel that will patch the game on the fly, auto install updates, etc. Highly recommended.

my slot 249 = d2x 9beta base 56 ;)

@themanuel - Sound advice. Looks like you've played with this far more than I have :rofl2:

well i guess all thats left to do is try again, but i dont know why when i tried d2x 56 i got lockups, i was using the nandgames dol, not the forwarders. my forwarders are iso files on a ntfs drive, in the wbfs folder. think thats why the only work with 222?
also,i have a 3.2u SNEEK nand that runs perfectly in sneek, it has no channels except the disc/HBC and its only like 65mb! if i were to install my wiiware onto that nand do you think it would all work out? looking through showmiiwads i can see the only ioses my wiiware requires are like, 38,53,56 i think, dunno maybe more...but what i guess im asking is, if i simply update the IOSes (all) to the latest versions would it work great? im mainly wanting to do this because a normal simple FS dumper/bootmii nand is like 500+mb, so im assuming starting with a 65mb nand should save some considerable space.
any thoughts? and thanks again!

I've gotta come clean, I don't mess around with sneek / uneek etc. so I can't offer you any informed advice.
I have an emu nand and use it solely for triiforce (and recently cfg loader).

It looks like you're kinda trying to set everything up at once, which doesn't usually work.

Get one bit working 100% before introducing something else to confuse issues

Sorry I can't be of more help

I am using the latest USB Loader GX and have followed all of the steps. Everything shows up properly and VC titles run fine, however Wiiware titles cause the Wii to reboot. The Wiiware "Pirates" game attempts to start however and only freezes after displaying the game creators logo. I'm not sure what the issue is as I believe it is finding the games correctly. I have attempted setting Block iOS reload, however it does nothing. I installed all of the WADs through USB Loader GX. The correct path for the forwarder isos is usb:\nand\NandGames right? Do I need Triforce or is it just a loader? Any help is appreciated!

Your ISO forwarders must be installed into the loader in the same manner and path as your disc based games ;)

If your emulated nand is on your SD, make sure that SD nand is chosen in options when you create the ISO etc. etc.

How do I go about choosing these options while making the ISOs? If I drag and drop there are no options and if I open the program it just has me select a file and then it creates the ISO. Everything is installed on my USB, I have all paths set to USB in my options also.

when you use wad2iso, after selecting your wadfiles, a window pops up called Edit Settings?. If you ignore it, it closes after a few second, but if you click the OK button you will see the options available ;)

Ah thanks, I must have blown through that the first time through assuming I wouldn't need to change the default settings. I have rerun my wads through and have no problems aside from some Wiiwares needing their own settings. Thanks for the help!

Wad2ISO itself needs no guide. If you drop wad files on it (or run it and select wad files), then ISO forwarders will automatically be made for those titles. Every question that relates to Wad2ISO has been discussed in this thread.

If you do not have, or know how to create, an emulated nand setup on SD or USB, there are numerous guides available, just use Google.

Once your emunand is installed and you can call your titles with Triiforce (which again has several guides available), then just open the
installed titles with Wad2ISO, and ISO forwarders will be made for you.

1) Install a couple of titles in your real nand, and run the wad files through Wad2ISO.
2) When a window called Edit Settings ? pops up click OK.
3) Select real from the nand options and the appropriate cIOS and video settings (if defaults don't work) and close the window

A few seconds later you will have ISO forwarders you can install into your favourite loader

4) Copy the NandGames folder and it's contents to root of your SD or USB drive ;)

The above will show you that Wad2ISO is working fine.
Once you have your EmuNand setup correctly, substitute SD or USB (as appropriate) for real in the instructions, and all will be well :yaywii:

Will this work if my Wii is chipmodded? I also softmodded it (the only things I have on it is Homebrew Channel and BootMii).
I want to play the ISO (the .wad that was transformed from .wad to ISO) from the DvD.

Later edit: I tried the program to see how it works but it doesn't works! When I'm at the Game Options window I check my .wad game (Majora's Mask) and when I click the "Apply Displayed Options to Selected File" a small window says "Settings Confirmed". Now nothing happens,I close the window and another one pop-outs which only stays on the screen for 2 seconds. Luckly I screenshoted right when it appears and it says "Extracting Game Details..." but then it suddenly dissapears and the "Finished ISOs" window appears which is empty. Yes, there's no ISO in it.

Read the thread, Wad2ISO works with chipped or unchipped Wii's. It has been extensively tested and confirmed working on many Windows variants and languages. It sounds like you have an issue with windows permissions preventing the files being created. Read the thread and you will find the answer ;)

Wad2ISO is no longer actively developed since there are several alternatives now available to acheive the same end.
The program worked flawlessly for me (back in the day when I was using the Wii) and will still work for you, if you put in
the effort to read through this thread to find the answer to any particular issue you may be having.

The answers are all here, don't waste your time crying that 'it just don't work', read. Enjoy!
