Homebrew gbaemu4ds: GBA emulator for DS(i) (DSi Entry)

Is the graphic better if you use the sc Version and the upper screen on a 3DS

  • I can't do that (have no 3DS) (have not tested that)

Hello, haven't been here in a while.
It looks like ichfly's been busy!

The compatibility list is surprisingly complete for a DSi project.
Does this mean the emulator is useful for commercial ROMs in DS-Mode?

If so, could someone recommend a ROM that doesn't crash, like Pokemon FireRed (U) or Super Mario Advance?

I recommend you Mario Tennis Power Tour, Pokemon FireRed (E) or Rayman Advance

Just curious, why the (E) version of FireRed? The compatibility list seems to say that both regions have equal compatibility.

EDIT: Also, a quick check tells me that FireRed is 5.1MB-ish trimmed. Unless I'm mistaken, this won't run in DS-Mode.
To be clear, I'm talking about running this off a plain old AK2i.

At this point in time, I believe that the size of the rom no longer matters. Or at least I know I can run leafgreen

Well, I dug out the R4 I forgot I had, so I copied the hbmenu to it and tried it. I'm really impressed on the improvement of the emulator from the last version I used on my AK2i.

I'll have to copy the tons of GBA roms from my AK2i to my R4 and test them.

The rom size is not limited only the executable rom size (that means some patches don't work on big roms) I have not found a homebrew/rom(ok I don't have many gba games) that need more executable rom than 1 MByte(Yggdra Union) the emulator has 3-2,5 MByte executable rom (depends on the rom)

Hi guys.
This has come SO far. thanks to ichichfly :)
Using an acekard2i and trying to play ANY pokemon game from the GBA era.
I get some games to load but each crashes/freezes at certain points (FR/LG after naming your character) or has other issues (R/S saves only work when they want to).

Reading some previous posts R/S can be saved with "SAVE" in-game and then Y,Y. Just works, yay.
Anyone else had an issue with FR/LG and/or know how to fix? FR/LG glitch-out after naming your character, music continues on black screen. Sprites are messed up too. (up+ab no longer responds)
using "Pokemon - Fire Red Version (U) (V1.0) [f1].gba" which in theory should work fine according to the wiki. Also tested unbranded version which threw an error on launch.
All options are default 'press A' except the sound which I select "HblancDMAsound" which seems to make audio (and the game) work at all.

Can't run the emu direct, as there seems to be no NDS file.

DUDE, YOU ARE AMAZING, ICHFLY!
FireRed (U) works 60FPS with mostly-working sound, with only a few minor graphical glitches! In-game saving took forever and ended up with a corrupt file, but it's amazing you even got this far!
Haven't saved with SMA2 (E), but otherwise 60FPS with kinda glitchy sound!

Keep the wonderful work coming! If I won the lottery, I would give just enough to you that you wouldn't have to get a real job, yet you wouldn't retire and be lazy.

Wait a min. Megaman Battle Network 4 runs?
There's an option on the poll ^
anyway, ichfly how can one help to fix games? Since you don't have a megaman battle network rom,
is there something , some data containing the error log that will help you to fix the game?
or
Couldn't you just download the megaman bn roms?
Capcom isn't going to make money out of them now!

Many, many thanks.

whats the difference bt. alpha 1 and fix1?

It's more advanced the alpha1 fix1 but i'm doing a big archive of certain programs for NDS, so i collected all version released for they.
Don't worry if you miss it, it's only my hobby.
