Although a new Star Fox wouldn't go a miss
Platinum Games would probably be the ones to get their hands on it, if it not already in development.

While I know where you are coming from on this, it was only something said by one of the leading dev's there how he would like to make one. Not that he will or Nintendo have given him a chance to. But yeah I reckon they could do Star Fox right given the chance

Is it me , ore the topic was about RETRO developing high quality game engines that could help other developers to bring their content to the Wii U , and instead it turned out in another " What game is retro working on / what games we wish to see from retro " ?

I think it's great that they could create a kick ass engine that would make it possible for developers not quite so familiar with the wii U architecture to create highly polished brand new games.....

Too bad that rumour about Nintendo buying RARE (or atleast their IPs) turned out to be just that, because I would've loved a new Banjo Kazooie made by Retro, after all they're like a modern RARE.

So, uh, Retro's game is probably going to be the most advanced thing yet seen on the Wii U

Seeing as how they're building engines from the ground up for the console, and working directly with the company

considering a number of ex Rare employees work at Retro, consider it mystery solved

Ha, told you they used Unreal Engine 2.
Actually.... http://gbatemp.net/t...__fromsearch__1
there, consider all three were built on the same engine. Of course it got better through each title. :)

No they didn't. The only proof was the presence of the word /cooked/ which isn't really proof at all. It's sheer nonsense.
And the presence of UnrealScript, and the way level streaming works is the same as on UE2.
Definitely no proof whatsoever, no sir.
Retro were a brand new studio. Prime was their first game. The likelihood of them making a brand new engine just for that game was low since Prime was a risk for Nintendo (specifically, outsourcing their IP to an unproved second party). So, they licensed UE2. Cheaper than making their own engine, but highly modifiable.
