As for the online support, we've announced the Wii U can go online. 3DS has local multiplayer only. If that's something you really want to see happen, head on to the MH forums and start talking about it there - then I can bring it up the chain with some supporting evidence. =) - Yuri L. Araujo, Associate Online/Community Specialist, Capcom U.S.A.

If you can only choose between two versions of MH3U, the Wii U version is probably the version to get since it's semi-portable (within your house), features online and a higher resolution. Although the 3DS version has 3D and is portable so if you got the cash to burn, I would get both. There's transfarring between the two so don't worry about your save file.

As for Ace Attorney Investigations 2:

“AAI2 isn’t being held hostage so please don’t read this that way but if they do well, they certainly can’t hurt. Justification for higher forecasts via stronger than expected sales in the franchise would be helpful. Bear in mind… the forecasts for AA5 I’ve put in are aggressive (high) relative to the historical performance of the franchise (needed to make sure it came over), so I’m counting on you guys to not make me a liar.”

I can see Capcoms point about AA5, seeing as the 3DS lacks a flashcard/loader of any means fans would have to pay out to continue the new adventure. Plus the Layton crossover and his appearance in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 couldn't have done him any harm

Hum... This is pretty interesting, seems like Capcom is actually trying to please people with this, although I understand their fears with releasing a game that might not sell that well, they have lots of employees and game sales are their income source, so the costs of a localisation and stuff that wouldn't sell, could turn out a loss for them.

To borrow from Futurama...

Fanbase: Are you blackmailing us?
Capcom: Blackmail is such an ugly word. We prefer "extortion". The "X" makes it sound cool.

I'm sure the small fortune that they made from on disk DLC will cover the costs of losses..

No online for MH3U? Fuck you, Capcom. Why you holdin' out on us? Isn't this basically the new name for Tri G, which is a port of the Wii's Tri, which, oh yes, HAS ONLINE.

The Wii U version does have online. It's just the 3DS version that doesn't.

That's what I meant. Sorry. My bad. But even so, fact is the groundwork for online play is right there. Why remove it for the 3DS version? God knows the 3DS needs an online game that's not a fighter or Mario Kart.

When they ported it to the 3DS, there was no online (cause Japanese Monster Hunter gamers play locally, not online). Adding online requires extra work which is why they want extra support.

I know this is supposed to be a muliplayer game but I don't see the fuzz about online on this one. This is just a direct localization of a game. And besides, every quest is pretty solo-able.

I hope they add online for 3DS, though its not a deal breaker. Already quite awesome you can play locally with the 3DS, then just transfer the save and play Online with the same character.

(cause Japanese Monster Hunter gamers play locally, not online)
I still can't imagine 4 japanese guys going over to someone's house just to play Monster Hunter.

While that possibility might exist in Japan, it's virtually non-existant here. So, Capcom... JUST ADD THE FREAKING ONLINE MULTIPLAYER.

Seriously, I thought I was going to buy it for sure, but no online play makes it so PSP.

I need online play.

Srsly Capcom.

Capcom wants to force you to buy a Wii U. :(

But in Japan, local multiplayer is pretty much the main appeal of Monster Hunter. They don't care about online as much unlike gamers over here.

This was posted days ago on the Capcom Unity forum and afterwards Sven said internet multiplayer won't be possible. What a damn shame, really.
