I'm having a little issue on SSBB.

When I first got the game (back when it was first released) I used to play on-line with no problem, just minor lag due to Nintendo's crappy services. It was all good.

However in the past 2 years I haven't managed to get into a single anonymous online match. Not one! It's driving me insane. I searched, and this was asked on here before, however there is no fix.

The thing is, when I head into spectator mode, I can find and choose between a million full 4-player matches to watch, but when I go to the With Anyone option, then either 2 on 2 or 4 player, I can't find a single person. The most I've waited consecutively is 2 hours and a half, and I couldn't find anyone.

Something's definitely wrong. Can it have anything to do with my location, or my Wi-Fi settings? Mario Kart Wii works completely fine. Can someone shed some light on this? I'm bored of playing against CPUs. Thanks.

I am sorry mate, I have the same problem here, I connected to a wired router and it seems like I can only fight friends _-_ So I guess no one is online

I did an awful lot of extensive research, and even found some topics on Nintendo's support website. I didn't get any information off Nintendo firsthand, but looking through a few topics on several forums, I think it would make sense that Brawl's "With Anyone" option is country-based, to reduce latency. Not entirely sure though.

This sucks of course, because where I live there's just about a 0% chance someone is simultaneously seeking someone on brawl who also has a stable connection.
But @[member='Arya511'], is your location setting correct? If you are in the States, then I don't see how you would have this issue too.

Is there any way (besides using a VPN on my router) to have my Wii think I'm in the States?

From what I understand, looking it up, apparently the game will put you in your own private match, so after like 2 minutes if you haven't found a game if you back out and search again you'll have a chance of getting into a public match.

Me too. Never been able to do a "anyone" match. My brother lives in Finland and friend matches work fine with him. I guess I could try changing my country setting around and see if that helps. I'd also have to check to see if I'm using a PAL or NTSC version but judging from other's responses here that shouldn't matter.

Maybe we could all exchange friend codes in this thread for those who have the problem.

I still find people online in random 2v2. Takes around 4 minutes to find 3 others, but the lag in-game is just horrible. Stick to offline with friends, or only play Wi-Fi with people you know have 10mb+/s connections so the game isn't terribly laggy.

Even when I fought against someone who lived two blocks down the street from me, the lag would be unbearable, even though I used a 30mbps connection. Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised if so few people play Brawl's online mode anymore.
