Actually I just created that thread and detailed instructions on customizing or creating your crazy intro video. The project itself was entirely done by WiiCrazy, hes also on gbatemp, but Im not sure how active he is these days, but u can try contacting him via PM. If youre serious about enhancing the project, might I suggest USB support?

Awesome, thanks again. I noticed WiiCrazy (I.R.on) created the source notes too, I'll try and contact him. I could be wrong and it probably isn't that easy but I assume that adding usb support would be a case of replacing "PI_INTERNAL_SD" with "PI_USBSTORAGE" in the source when mounting, but I could be wrong, I'm very new to this. Hopefully WiiCrazy can guide me on that.

I spoke to WiiCrazy about usb support before, but that was back in 2010. IIRC he got it working but it was really slow, so during my tests 99% of the time the wii menu would load before my HDD was even detected. But that was before IOS58 came out, and I never did any tests with the Wii in stand-by mode (i.e. HDD was totally powered down). That and I think I only ever got it to work via HDD using an older version of priiloader (v0.1 or v0.3, can't remember)

If it used IOS58 startup time would be even longer because it would have to load your SM IOS, then IOS 58, then your SM IOS again (or the IOS that the launched title uses)

I loaded up a video in crazyintro and did notice this delay. I also noticed that the beginning of a video is cut off. I had to pad in a fade section to my intro (which gets cut off on the wii) so that it doesn't skip the "exploding circles" part:

http://www.mediafire...hl0nfkxgqaf8zrn

Audio on the wii mplayer also seems to be out of sync (the circles explode before the sound). As a dirty workaround I was wondering if I should perhaps intentionally move the audio so that it is earlier than the explosion but my guess is that the delay in the audio might depend on the Wii and SD card in use. Does somebody know if reducing the audio sample rate in the video would help somehow? What is the best audio format for wii mplayer?

Are you using component cables?
Composite cables. Unfortunately I don't have a Wii component cable.
Where did you get CrazyIntro from? It shouldn't be a problem if you have composite cables, just component cables.

Edit: Download this for the xml and readme files (not the dol though), and this for the latest dol file.

Ok thanks :)

Moar questions!
- Will my Wii lose the ability to play real game disks via the standard disk channel if I replace the mIOS with DIOS MIOS?
Wii Games: No
Gamecube games: yes
Actually, I can launch Original GameCube games from the Disc channel with DIOS MIOS (Lite) installed.

Another difference between Devolution and DIOS MIOS is that DM require you to replace the MIOS on your Wii, while devolution is using the official IOS58.
DM has support for video mode, cheats, widescreen, etc.

Devolution didn't (but I think r145 added a setting for widescreen? I didn't check myself, I've just read a user comment)

So you ARE able to run GC games normally... Is it possible to re-install the original mIOS if I should want to? That way I can just give it a try and see if it works for me.

Devolution has anti-piracy measures. Me? A shameless pirate.

of course you can reinstall the official MIOS v10, or whatever MIOS/cMIOS version. Installing a MIOS replace the previous one.
You can download the official MIOS in wad format with modMii or with NUSD.

Devolution requires that you use a full 1:1 dump, and that you scan your original disc to see if your disc is identical to the ISO. once done, the authentication is stored on the drive with the ISO, and is tightgh to the Wii you used to verify the file, you don't need to rescan the disc as long as you play with the same Device+Wii combination.

Oh allright, I'll give Dios Mios a try, then. Thanks for helping me (again) - I recognize you so I think you've helped me before xD

EDIT: I'll just edit in my next question to avoid double posts. Yay.

When using Dios Mios, does it matter if I use a PAL or NTSC iso's on my PAL Wii?

The game region doesn't matter compared to the Wii region, only the game region by itself is important for the compatibility of the game with DIOS MIOS, or the settings you need to use. just check the compat list if a game doesn't work.

So I got the latest DIOS-MIOS and I've been trying to get games running off of my SD card. It's a 32 gig class10 card and I set it to FAT32 and set a 64KB cluster size.

I have tested 3 games so far that I have ripped through the latest CFG mod (as in, I'm no pirate) I used official memory cards and tried with the disc both in and out of the drive

Shadow the Hedgehog: Works fine, seems to load faster but it just freezes a few hours in, seems to be completely random when.

Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door: no music, I pressed start and it just didn't load the next part of the game

Super Smash Bros. Melee: NOTHING. Simply a black screen after the DIOS MIOS logo.

Help?

Anybody?
