Like you, my setup is soley geared around my young children.

They have no problem at all with picking games to play from the same interface with this setup ;)

The same here, i have 3 young ones. 6yrs old an twin 3yr. though i don't use these at all, i use crap/(?new name for it.)... or i use neek2o for the wiiware/vc games. easy to launch. an i don't need to stand over them to do it for them.well the 6yr at least i don't. i have my priiloader set to return to wiiflow.

Yep, things have come a long way since having to use Triiforce, I must agree :yaywii:

There are obviously different ways to run channel titles from emu nand, I just particularly like
the simplicity of this method, especially as (according to those that use online functions)
you do not have to give up online features with these forwarders.

Everybody's Happy!! :yay: :toot: :grog:

Wad2ISO creates ISO forwarder images (similar to Windows shortcuts) that can be used to launch titles installed to channels from your usb loader

The titles must already be installed to real or emu-nand. There are plenty of threads that cover this, you just need to search a little ;)

Once the titles work correctly manually, you run the wad files that were used to install the titles through Wad2ISO which will produce the forwarders for each title.

You probably have not got the titles installed to nand and so, wad2ISO drops you back to the Wii Menu as it cannot find the title you
are trying to launch

Read though this thread and you will find that pretty much all problems like this have been resolved :)

I had a lot of trouble getting this to work beyond 249cios38v17 with USBLoader GX. Kept getting "can't find loader.dol" or freeze at black screen with most d2x versions. Eventually got it to work with d2xv7finalbase56 in slot 249, downloaded from the official d2x site and installed with the official d2x cios installer. Must set IOS reload block to OFF. d2xv8 final wouldn't work. My wii is modded as per Guide: Softmod ANY Wii, except I put d2xv7 back over slot 249 now to have iso forwarder functionality.

hey Tristar and Manuel... i just tried the recently released The Last Blade (VC neo geo) as a wad2iso forwarder and it has severe issues.. either it wont start... or lockup... or when it does go in game(which doesnt happen often) itll get really glitchy and garbled after a bit... are there specific settings to use this game with???? any help would be greatly appreciated.

btw: this is probably the largest NEOGEO VC yet to be released.. which makes me think this has to do with why it has issues.. and it also makes me worried that the upcoming releases of The Last Blade 2 and Blazing Star will also have this issue if not resolved..... anyway... let me know if you have the same issues i had and if there is a fix, thanks! :)

The latest USB Loader GX is capable of displaying the emulated nand games (wiiware) along with regular wii games in the same screen, just like iso forwarders. Haven't tested much, but the first few games I tried from the emunand (not forwarder) worked fine. Not sure how the online play is effected. Nor do I know anything about how it loads the titles (triiforce?). Gonna play around with it a bit more...

Oh, and I'm using WBFS / FAT32 partitions.

Hey, Tristar:

If you still keep an eye on this topic, do you know how to enable partial nand emulation with this method?
I just realized that changes to my Mii are not reflected in games launched through this method. They do show the updates if launched directly from a loader. Of course, I need forwarder ISO's for some games to preserve online functionality.

I don't really play around with this much these days, my kids have been won over by the PS3 at the moment - but I know I used to be able to keep the miis in sync by copying a file from nand to emu-nand
It might be mentioned in this thread actually, if not I'll post when I can remember how I did it ;)

Oh - just re-read, nah no idea what partial nand emu is so definately unable to enable it with these forwarders.

Fair enough, my friend.
Thanks for replying, though.

By the way the file you used to copy was sysconfig, which USB Loader GX can do for me, so this is not much of an issue.
I can simply sync it every once in a while.
I simply brought it up in case it was something easy to fix or something I might have missed.

Best regards to you and the family.

Hi everyone,
taking another crack at this to try and get some of the problematic VC games working again. This time I'm stuck at the installer, I can't seem to even get WAD2ISO downloaded, it just keeps claiming there's an internet problem whenever I try to fetch the latest version. Perhaps it's just temporary downtime? Or has the location gone dead?
Thanks in advance for clearing this up

After a lot of experimenting with my emunand and cios placements I finally got it to work! Had to put wanikokos rev17 in 249 (For some reason the 250 wasn't working at all) and I realized that some modifications I was making to my emunand were causing to completely mess up, for some reason it has some bits of junk data on it from old channels that are no longer on my nand but deleting them causes triiforce to crash. Managed to successfully get Mario Party 2 to load up perfectly with a forwarder, thanks so much for this great program, and thanks to everyone who commented. Probably wouldn't have gotten this far without searching the thread a ton.

Edit4: Now triiforce seems to be touchy as hell with loading my emunand. If I do a dump with USB Loader GX I get a nand that it will load, however it's glitchy (Only Mario Party 2 loads properly and it lists a couple of extra titles that are no longer on my nand) and if I modify it in any way it crashes Triiforce when it tries to load my nand. That means trying to readd the titles, delete the junk titles, anything seems to cause it to crash. I tried using an older nand dump of mine but it just crashes after it tries loading. I also tried a fresh nand dump that I found online in a triforce guide but this also crashes immediately.
I'm using ShowMiiWads to add/remove files from my nand, is there anyway that I could be able to modify it without this haphazard stability? (Note: The emunand works fine through USB Loader GX, it's only Triiforce that refuses to load it.)

Make Sure you are using a Fat32 partition and it is de-fragmented
Use ShowMiiWads to produce the Emu-Nand from a nand dumped with BootMii and also to install your Wads to Emu-Nand
Use Wad2ISO on the same Wads to produce your ISO forwarders.

Read the whole thread as most, if not all, of your issues have already been dealt with

Enjoy ;)

Alrighty, gonna be a bit busy for the next few days but when I get the chance I'm going to try redumping my nand with bootmii this time, then after I've got the emunand setup I'll defrag my HDD just to make sure that isn't causing the issue. I've already got the forwarders working perfectly now, so they aren't my issue. I've realized when they black screen it's because triiforce is crashing when it tries to load my emunand (it seems a lot touchier than usbloadergx's emunand, but since that can't load most vc n64 it won't be helping me). If thing are still off I'll do a read over the whole thread (up til now I've just been using the search function to try and find similar issues, then I've read the section where they were found until I get an answer).
Hopefully I can finally get this all up and running, it's a really good program you've come up with here and it allows me to seamlessly blend all of my games into one loader. Great stuff Tristar, and thanks for helping me.

Edit: Well, I finally got back to messing with this and I'm still ending up with no luck.
I followed all of your instructions Tristar but I'm still getting the same issue with Triiforce crashing and giving me a code dump when it tries to load my emunand. I've read through the entire thread and still cannot find the answer to my problem. I've tried doing a search through all of the forums however most Triiforce issues seem to end with the whole "Triiforce is obsolete, use postloader or sneek/uneek" solution, which doesn't help with trying to get the ISO forwarders to work. Going to try to mess with it a bit more because I really want to be able to load everything up from USB Loader GX, but if I can't figure it out I'll probably end up resorting to Postloader's feature where it temporarily loads from uneek. I happened upon some info on the Triiforce googlecode issues page that states triiforce locks up when there's corrupt nand channels present on the nand, I'm thinking those bits of leftover channels it picks up when it does rarely manage to load could be the cause of that. Going to see if I can find some way to wipe the information from those and see if it'll load my nand that way.
Edit2: No luck, triiforce just does not like me it seems. The forwarders all work great and I really wish I could use em, but I guess I'm going to have to try messing with postloader for now. Thanks for taking the time out to try helping me though, I really do appreciate it.

Go back to basics.

Get your emunand setup, copy loader.dol to usb:\apps\triiforce folder and rename it to boot.dol

Run boot.dol from HBC and make sure that your installed tiles are loading when run directly. If you can't get them to run direct you will not be able to run them with a forwarder.

If they crash, try again with different options set (usually video)

If you cannot get them running this way then your wadfile is corrupt or maybe the nand is not setup correctly.

Once you do get them running directly they will run via ISO forwarder with the same settings applied in Wad2ISO's options screen ;)

:// EDIT

Just a thought - You do know that your EmuNand must be setup in the ROOT of USB : or SD : right?
(Some later apps allow it setup in a folder but this is NOT compatible with Triiforce)

It goes back along way - people were mirroring all over the place when a LOT of changes were happening.
Some sites were even advising newbs to use an older version they were hosting (because it fitted their guides)
and I suspect they were collecting some kind of reward per download
The only way I could put a stop to that and ensure that folks would download the latest version was to force where
it was downloaded from.
Since switching to this approach the problems have been eliminated as everyone is using the latest version ;)

//EDIT

I have updated the installer, the issue with downloading / connection should be resolved :)
