Yeah i hope we get that update soon, theres quite a few games i want to try on the XL.

Either way, after this, Im planning to get a Supercard or an R4i Gold sometime in the next month or two.
I'm probably gonna grab myself a SuperCard DSOne. I had no need for the apps that use the onboard RAM (SNES and GBA emulators), so the battery drain the DSTwo gives me whenever it's plugged in has no real use.

Even if we get the fix, the 3ds will update again after 10 days. I used my acekard2i FOR TEN DAYS :(

Next time the update will come, I will not let my son touch my 3DS and accidentally update thru Nintendo Zone. Its my fault because I told him how to watch pokemon anime on NZ

Thinking about replacing my Acekard2i with an R4i Gold 3DS. Will it experience the same lifespan problem the Acekard2i is currently experiencing? As I understand it, getting one like the DSTwo would be the best option, but I don't really want to spend $40 if I don't have to and I'm also not too pleased with its battery draining resources.

If you don't care for the GBA or SNES emulators (which really aren't that great like some people make them out to be), then you can get a SuperCard DSOne instead. since it doesn't have the onboard RAM, it won't have an increased battery drain. That's what I'm doing. Also, it gets updates just as promptly as the DSTwo, which is really fast.

Hmm. Yeah maybe I will go with that one. I use my PSP for SNES/GBA emulation (which it does flawlessly), so this looks just right. Thanks!

EDIT: Okay, now I'm a bit confused about which one I should go for. There's the DSone (http://www.realhotstuff.hk/Supercard-DS-One-SDHC-_p_23.html) and then there's the DSone i (http://www.realhotstuff.hk/Supercard-DS-One-i-mini_p_24.html) and the DSonei Mini (http://www.etcome.com/supercard-ds-one-i-mini-revolution-for-firmware-v141-dsidsds-p-105326.html). Which one should I get from where? This is always the most annoying part about getting a new flashcard to me.

I'm actually still trying to figure this out myself. Perhaps one of the people in this thread who's more versed can answer this question for us? Though I'm going to take a wild guess and say the two at realhotstuff.com are the better choice, since they tend not to carry the more "outdated" cards.

I could be wrong, but it looks like the main difference between the SDHC and the Mini is that the Mini comes with a USB upgrader tool, so you can upgrade to the latest version on PC without worrying about your DS/3DS system being on too high of a firmware to patch it.

Why do you recommend others dsonei?
dsonei also releases the updating patch much slower than dstwo and r4i gold 3ds(r4ids.cn)

Oh, does it? I'm just saying that based on what I've read. My understanding was that they were updated simultaneously. Oh well, that sucks. :(

Simultaneously?
No, dsonei is much slower.
You can have a look at some threads related to it.

Oh I believe you, I just wasn't aware. Thanks for telling me. Shoot... looks like I'll have to find another fast-udating card that works well (besides the DSTwo).

I recommend you r4i gold 3ds(r4ids.cn) if you do not want to get dstwo.
Because this card releases the updating patch just as fast as dstwo(within 24 hours).

the list on the front page in the FLASHCARDS WORKING section
is in order of when then update was released

the ones that didnt require updates dont really count as all the ones that survived as very new
so Nintendo didn't know about them

bu tthe card with updates should give you an idea of speed

R4i Gold 3DS(r4ids.cn)just releases the updating patch as fast as dstwo.

How to decide your r4i gold 3ds bought now is a genuine one or not?
1.Be sure the website on the sticker of your card is www.r4ids.cn
2.Running WOOD R4 for it and click start and help, you should get the image listed below.
Please pay attention to "HW:R4i Gold 3DSb".

3.Pay attention to the PCB inside the shell of your card and compare it to the picture below.
Please pay attention to the elements marked with the yellow rectangle.
