in the top menu, you have an icon which looks like a channel and a game cover.
This is the "Title origin" window.

You select the Origin (place/type) of the game you want to be displayed:
* Wii games (from USB)
* GameCube games (From USB/SD)
* Channels (from Real Nand)
* Channels (from Emulated Nand)

You asked for a quick way to see only Wii+Gc, or only Channels, or only EmuNAND. This is the nearest you can do for the moment. using the "origin" menu to quickly select what you want to see (Wii+GC for example).
Or alternatively, a function to quickly change between different modes that determine what's displayed: there might be a "Games Mode" that displays Wii and GC games and uses a cover view by default, a "Channel Mode" that displays the channels and has the system menu-style view by default, and maybe a "Hybrid Mode" that displays both channels and Wii/GC games (like the app does currently when nothing is filtered off).

There's no "quick state change", with different full settings memorized.
Even if I like the idea, it won't be added for the moment.

After messing around with r1201 i noticed i cannot get any GC games to run with a memory card in slot B. if i insert it after the game starts i get a freeze during the next loading screen.
Use slot A for memory card.
Not a lot of games are compatible with SlotB, and that's why SlotB is usually for accessories (SD or USB gecko).

Be sure to not have the "debug mode" setting enabled, and the SlotB should work.
it if doesn't work, it's not a problem from the loader but from DIOS MIOS (Lite) version you are using.

Thanks.
So the problem is not due to my recent video mode changes.
Which video mode are you using? are you on "Game default" or "system default"?

Do you have IOS 58 installed?
the (emulator's) channels require IOS58.
Can you launch the channels from the system menu?

I think I'm using System Default as it is now.
I have IOS 58 installed, and the emulators & forwarders work fine from system menu.
It's the same with Configurable USB Loader, I end up back in USBLGX, so it's not emulator specific.

Cheers!

Oh, that. Yeah, I already knew about that feature.

Anyway, thank you for you responses and for hearing my suggestions.

Hey, if you're thinking about implementing different "states" or "modes" but are unsure about what configuration each one should have, maybe you could let the user set it by himself? For example, I'm thinking that maybe the app could have about 3 different "profiles". Each one would hold a different configuration set by the user (at first, all of them would have the same configuration, the default one, which might be similar to the current default settings), and the user would be able to cycle through them with a button or a icon in the toolbar. Whenever the user changes the view or modifies the filters, those changes would be applied to the current profile. Then whenever he switches profiles, the app would load the selected profile's settings. That way it would be possible for the user to set (for example) one profile for Wii games, one for GC games, and one for VC and WW games (this one could even use, if the user specified it, the SM-style view that shows the channels' banners rather than box arts, as most of the (unofficial) box arts for WW games look rather awkward and unprofessional IMO).

yes, that's what I meant.
letting the user create multiple profile (could also be locked with parental control).

a "kid profile" and a "dad profile" ;)

It was the main idea when I saw this theme mockup:
wiism-mockup.png

by @PJM from this post.
Each tab could be a different profile.
I really like this visual, and maybe it could be done. but not in the near future. first I'll release a v3.1 with DM/Devo support.

That theme mockup looks awesome, I don't really care for profiles atm but it would be really sweet to be able to have separate tabs for wii/gc/wiiware.

Btw, would it help if I posted a system check, regarding my nand channel problems?

Cheers!

I have ideas on how the above mockup could work, but I don't know if it's easy to code it.
I'm still thinking about it. But there are still a lot of old bug/suggestion which need to be done too.

e2zippo:
Sorry I still haven't try to install the channel you said.
UNEO (forwarder) and generic forwarder worked fine.

The channel for Snes9xGX is also a forwarder.

Just to be sure, the channels you want to load are on the real NAND right?
not on Emulated Nand?

The forwarders need access to the SD or USB.
If you launch a channel on Emulated NAND, the SD/USB is mounted as NAND and is then unavailable to the homebrew.

So, if you have the emuNAND on SD and the /apps/snes9xgx/boot.dol on SD too, the boot.dol will not be accessible and the Wii reboot because it couldn't be loaded.

Hello, I'm not very familiar with USB Loader GX in like terms and stuff, I have been using it for a while though, and I read up on the revisions. Currently I am using USB Loader GX v3.0 r1180 and it says it has auto-matic updates, so I was assuming that it would automatically update revisions for me as in to r1201 (which looks good btw, I was hoping we could set it so channel banners are displayed in grid mode, and rotating disk everywhere else.) but anyways, I do not know how to manually update revisions either.
so my question is, does automatic updates not work for updating to the latest revision (if it is working, then their should be a setting for that.)
and my other question is how do i update revisions manually.

What you want is effectively available in the r1201 (rotating disc everywhere, banner on channels only).

Automatic updates only work with official (stable) releases.
During development, there are a lot of things added/changed/removed and it need testing and beta tester. The beta releases are not available on the internal automatic update, as developers need feedback from beta testers, and some revisions might not work and cause problem to end users if they don't understand what the latest beta is used for. (usually, for testing a specific element, which might break the loader completely).

If you want to manually update, you have two solution:

1. You are using the Full Channel: Don't* ;)
2. You are using the Forwarder channel, or Homebrew channel to launch the loader: Ok, you are fine!
- Download the latest beta package from the beta thread : http://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/issues/detail?id=1769&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Priority%20Owner%20Summary
- Extract the file boot.dol located in the folder IOS249 (IOS249/boot.dol)
You don't need anything else. Don't use the .elf, don't use the other folders! just he IOS249/boot.dol
- put the extracted file on your SD card or USB (if you don't use SD card): SD:\apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol (replace the previous file)
That's all

*It's possible to update the Full channel manually, but it's not as easy than the forwarder method, so I won't detail it here for newbies. for information, it require Customize Mii, and IT WILL BREAK the auto-update.

Thank you Cyan, I have updated everything and am now at r1201 :)
my next question though, is DML 2.2 broken, or is it a USB Loader Gx issue, It seems many people have gotten a black screen when using DML 2.2 and I am wondering if it is just a DML, considering it only came out around 5 days ago.

Users have blackscreen with DML 2.2 and all other loaders too, so it's not related to GX.

Or something else is required, as few users managed to get DML2.2 working (I've read things like 'I used MMM, other wad manager didn't work', but other users with MMM had the blackscreen problem too, so it's not the solution).

Maybe it needs a fresh install ? install MIOS v10 before installing DML 2.2?

Using DM2.2 is the best solution for the moment, if your USB drive is compatible.

Hey guys i have hack my Nintendo Wii just a few days ago. I got the latest usb loader gx and cIOSX rev21d2x. I got wiimc to work with my hard drive. It can play video and music from my hard drive but i cant get usb loader gx to work. If i plug my Hard drive in my wii and use usb loader gx it would freeze at the countdown and if i turn my hard drive off it wouldn't freeze at the countdown saying it cant detech my hard drive and then it would take me to usb loader gx screen. I got cios 249[56] and 250[57]. What i like to know is there a way that i can fix this so that usb loader gx wouldnt freeze when i use my hard drive.

Edit
i got it to read my (FAT32) hard drive using usb loader gx 222 but it load very slow and freeze trying to install the game

Edit
Well i have test the other HDD none of them work....It end up being just like Western Digital WD300BB-00AUA1. i think it had something to do with d2x or usb loader gx.

Same problem here. I will stick in USBLGX 3.0 and DML 1.5 until is fixed

I doubt is a clean MIOS related. Coz i've installed through official MIOS, Quadforce and few versions of DML a lot of times and it never give me problems, only DML 2.2

And DML 1.5 doesnt need disc inserted, as i figure out DM need disc. Every time i use one of the two nodisc option GX said that its not avalible anymore so you have to insert disc in order to play

Inserting a disc replace the "noDisc" setting that you could select manually on previous version.
Don't set "NoDisc" to enable, and just keep a disc in the drive when needed (not all games required it, see the compatibility list to check which one need it).

I'm new to GX after coming from CFG, and have a strange problem I was hoping someone could help me with.

When browsing my games NHL 2K11 shows up twice. I've looked on the drive and its a split WBFS file. I'm pretty sure I have other split WBFS files (not at home to check), which are fine. It only shows the once on CFG, is there a simple fix I can do, without re-ripping the game?
In addition to this I've got an emulated NAND save for Wii Fit Plus, which when I have emulated NAND channels displayed, shows an additional channel titled: "RFPP". Done some digging and found that this is the save to Wii Fit Plus. Is there any way I can stop this showing? I've tried hiding it using parental lock, however that then hides the actual Wii Fit Plus game.

Any help on both issues would really be apprechiated

I'm having an issue with usb loader r1201, haven't tried different version, but when initiating usb device it is turning the drive off, the drive works fine loading other things from the drive, and if I unplug and replug in the drive in while waiting for device is displayed it will then work. In fact the dol for usb loader is on the drive, so the forwarder is reading the dol off the drive. The drive is a seagate goflex model 9zfan5-500. Any ideas?
