Gaming Suddenly lost ability to use 26-keys in shockwave games?

I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome (20.0.1132.57) and today, all of a sudden, I can only use non-letter keys in Shockwave.com games, such as this one. Does anyone else have this problem?

Works fine for me (same version of Chrome).

I should also mention the same problem happens with Internet Explorer 9. I am using the Microsoft Curve 3000 keyboard.

I've narrowed it down to a Windows 7 software problem. When using Windows 8 (I dual-boot) with the same keyboard, everything works.
