Let's see now. I feel like adding my opinions in this now.
Digimon World 1 has something unique to it that isn't present in later games. That is Digimon raising. Hell, I like Monster Rancher Advance for the same reason.
Digimon World 2 became a dungeon crawler. Not bad, but not great. If it wasn't for the Digimon theme it's be generic though.
Digimon World 3 is.... It's not crap. Battles are fine, but could be made better. One of the biggest issues I say is that there is no fast travel. It would make sense for teleporters connecting Central to the 4 directional cities.
Never played 4.
Digimon World DS/Dawn/Dusk are not bad. But you can tell elements of the first 3 games are there. Encounter rate is too damn high...

I'm actually not a big fan of turn based but my problem with Digimon World 1's Battle System is that you don't do anything. You just tell them to fight and stand there, every now and then giving them an item or making them use a finisher. The only reason it's really hard is because the AI of your partner isn't too great. I trained my Gabumon hard before doing anything beyond that first Agumon battle. He had close to 3000 HP and yet he still got killed by a Kunemon with 900 HP. While I'll agree that training your digimon anyway you want is pretty cool, I like having a certain degree of control in my battles so maybe that's it.

I'm playing Digimon World 2 on my Psp now and while it is a little repetitive it's actually not......horrible. Digimon World 3 was fun when I was a kid but I haven't given it a try lately so I can't really say anything about it. I played Digimon World 4 too and I'm not a fan so I definitley agree with you when it comes to that. Without the weapons and with more of a selection of Digimon it could've been better. You're starting to make me consider giving DW1 another try though.

Wow, just wow, 3000 hp losing to 900 hp? sorry, you're doing something wrong bro. Did you train the other stats at all? did you know training brains unlocks more commands so you can influence the battle more? U unlock commands like Attack, moderate, distance, defend, and eventually you can directly tell your digimon which attack you want him to use lolz.

Digimon World 3 is one of my favorite Digimon games. It's also the most annoying game next to World 4.

what do you mean annoying?
It's funny, I trained everything besides brains lol. Still with buffed up attack, defense and the other stuff I shouldn't be getting killed by a weak ass Kunemon. Good to know that you can gain some control over the battles though, thanks.

Not really... it doesn't take much for a digimon to be dumb and only attack in melee and then the other digimon uses ranged attacks and acts smart. If you're unable to tell your guy to switch to something more efficient you'll be kited until your dead. It will NEVER matter if you have 9999HP or 9999ATK you can't win if you can't hit and you can still lose with high HP it'll just take awhile.

Still, assuming he did have 3000 hp against that kunemon and a few items, and "buffed up attack" it should give him enough time to get 2 Finishers which should be more than enough to kill that kunemon assuming he can tap l and r at a decent speed.

if you went back into the teleporter room in every big city you could travel between them

does this play like digimon world 1 for psx 1?
Yeah.

- Same battle system.
- Same 'world map' so to speak.
- Same inventory system.
- Same digivolution system.
- Same training system.
- Same recruitment system.

I think I should focus on whats different instead... well there's the coliseum (which is basically a much more advanced version of Greymon's Battle Arena, and the storyline involves a lot of Tamers, whereas DMW1 had no humans except for at the very end of the game.

After reading about world 1 im interested in trying i remember i was planning to play it on an emulator because i wanted to play 1-3 and the download was corrupt and didnt run so i never tried to find another, as for 2 and 3 i enjoyed 3 for a while until i found that it was a grind and stopped as for 2 i lost my save after clocking around 10 hours so i never bothered with it. 4 was one that i played as a kid and i found was a rather long game it took me and a friend like 6 weekends to beat, the most frustrating part was when we were stuck and couldnt get into the jungle area until we realized someone had to be agumon or guilmon i cant remember who, all in all a fun game. I have most of the ds games released in NA and enjoyed themallmbut they did feel like a final fantasy sort of game but i liked final fantasy so it was all good.

Greetings from Italy!!!
I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for translating this game! I was so looking forward to playing it, and I hoped someone would eventually decide to adapt it at least in English (as Namco Bandai will certainly not do it).

I wanted to ask a thing: will you release any utility to edit the texts of the game? I'd really like to translate the game in Italian (there are a lot of Digimon fans here, too), so if you plan on publish some tools to help me and all of those who'd like to do something like that, it would be really appreciated.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Can any of the translators say what's left? Apart from what's already been translated, all I can think of is the story (and emails?)

I actually think I'm just going to wait for this game instead of playing DW1 since I hear it's basically an improved version of it. Something that seriously dissapoints me though is that I heard the life spans are even shorter in that game. I read it's about 18 days or something and that's only if you make it all the way to mega? Also out of my top three favorite digis, Only Impmon is obtainable.
