Cheers for updating the first post Yugix. I hadn't realised how much progress you'd made, the translators are doing well keep it up.

I'm no translator, though I've done a little in that department. I've found this website very helpful:

http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1C

If you check the box that says "Search using romanized Japanese" you can type in romanizations for katakana or hiragana, or, without it checked, you can search on a kanji and find what it means. If you click on the "Multi-Radical Kanji" link at the top you can identify a kanji by looking up some or all of its pieces (radicals).

And where is the patch??
I'm not sure what bothers me more; the fact you could have read the first post and found your answer, the fact that this has been asked more than enough times so that randomly picking any page of this thread could have answered that question, or your tone. I think I'm gonna go with tone, because while the others may have been lazy and feigning illiteracy, the tone of your post seems to be demanding a voluntary service that requires a lot of work, effort, and time of people who really have other stuff going on. There is no patch at the moment, and there won't be one until it is finished.

I've been kind of toying around with this game for a few days now, more for fun than for translating it.

The words on all of the main menus are images right? Are they located in the pak files root directory?

I was more referring to the menu that you get when you push X on the ds and it pulls up "digimon, digimon farm, and save" and what not. The oam viewer shows them all as sprites.
Its really interesting to take these things apart and look at them @_@.

hi people, i really love digimon, and since this is a progress thread, but the translator is to busy with translating, i thauth i would count all the lines and give you a reasonably precise percentage of text translated, so here it comes:
there has been translated a total of 1440 of 4817 rules, not all of these are grammatical correct, but i tried to leave out as many babelfish translation as possible.

as for the percentage: 2 numers, since from rule 668 to rule 3393 there are double collums, i wil include them in the rule count, but as i believe those rules are unnecesary(as i saw them repeated) Yugix will heve to tell.

with double rules: 19 % of rules translated(1440/7542)
without double rules: 30% of rules(1440/4817)

Unfortunately the first one. I kind of wanted to figure out how to open them up in tinke and mess with them. Its proving to be more of a hassle than its worth. I can't even get their paks to unpack right haha.

use normatt's unpacker (not the one for text the other one). Beware- you are about find yourself staring at a lot of files. Which is why i asked you which ones you wanted to see. As I can pack those suckers into a narc (or zip) and send them to you.
I also must say that some are in the spr pac files and some are in bg pac files.
I am ready to help.

I got in to them! Kinda just looking through them for now.

Thanks for y'alls help. I had both tools on my computer, but only ever looked at the text editing one. Kind of unobservant on my part.

This post makes me anticipate this game even more. I have tried downloading a few that were supposed to be English patched, but most of it is still in Japanese so its still impossible to play for me. Seeing that you have that menu translated lets me know that you are already passed the English that the rom i downloaded has. This forum seems to have gotten more active this last week and its nice to hear whats going on with the guys working on it. Keep up the good work.
