I have a Wii USA that had 4.1u with dvdx,HBC,Cios and wiikey 2 modchip, some games would not load. I decided to use this tutorial to see if I could make games work, but after updating to 4.2 and installing all IOS, Cios. When I put the dvd backup it appears the title and when I press A to play screen stays black. Why? Some games would not even load, it says error.. reset wii etc. Thanks
Make sure you downgrade to 4.1 when using ModMii as well, since 4.2+ disables region free with modchips.

Use ModMii; the link is in my sig.

Why don't you give him a little more help than simply use modmii? That advice won't fix his problem since it sounds like he is attempting to launch games from the disc channel... I am all for people using what is best and all, but simply replying to every question someone has with "use modmii" is ignorant and not helping anyone other than you and your post count.

To accurately answer his question, try loading the game with neogamma, then if it works and you want to use the disc channel you could look into PoC. I would recommend ditching the wiikey, not sure if you can do it without taking it out on the new ones. On the first gen ones, you could initiate an firmware update and unplug it at 70%.

I'm just saying that because ModMii can solve virtually any problem with hacking your Wii. I'm not trying to force my post count to go up!

No arguments from me, modmii is awesome, I just wish people including yourself would have more of a response than "use modmii" (especially when modmii doesn't fix his problem).

No dice I'm afraid. If it works for you, and you'd be willing to forward the e-mail to me, I'm [email protected]
If not, I guess I'll just have to keep trying. It'll be a few days until my SD card reader arrives anyhow so it's not a huge problem at the moment,

This is odd. I get the reply if I send the request from an email other than my Gmail address, but if I use Gmail the reply never comes. I've checked the spam folder and the reply simply isn't there. Even though I was able to get the reply using a different email address I'd still like to know what's happening. Any ideas?

[edit] Not sure what was going on, but things are working now. For some reason my outgoing Gmail messages were disappearing (on my tablet). I had to delete the account and add it back.

I was hoping somebody could help me.

I've successfully installed Homebrew and backed up and removed my NAND files.

I ran Wii Mod Batch v3.0 -- however, note: it did not say '0 failed' in the Wii Mod Batch.

Now, I am trying to run the IOS236 Installer, but as soon as I enter the black DOS looking portion of the IOS236 installer, and get the message 'Press 1 to continue', I notice that my Wii mote is not responding.

The same applies to the Priiloader -- both Priiloader and IOS236 Installer succesfully launch from Homebrew, but once I get to the DOS looking black screen, I cannot use my Wiimote to press any buttons and progress through the installation. It's almost like the Wiimote has turned off.

Can some one help? For reference, I have Firmware version 4.3U.

It should display it quickly after installing all the wads in wii mod batch. You shouldn't have to run ios236 installer after you have run wii mod batch...

But don't I need to install IOS and cIOS mods in order to be able to run backup loaders such as usbloader_gx? I'm not able to install these IOS and cIOS apps because my Wiimote doesn't seem to respond
