sounds to me like your covers are in the wrong place? Full go in wiiflow/boxcovers/"emuname"/ front go in wiiflow/covers/"emuname"
the updated theme pack is located in this thread somewhere a few pages back...
Thanks for the clarification masterjakeway. I was going by failburn's example and just put them in covers.

So now that my covers are set, the boxes for those don't seem to be sized properly. Would I have to adjust the sizes somewhere in their INI files? And as for covers that are more horizontal, would I just flip the PNG image for them to show up correctly?

Btw, is there an 'easier' way to put WiiWare games on Wiiflow? I'm not sure if there is but I don't think I want to dump my nand everytime I buy a new game off Nintendo Shopping Channel.
I think it's WiiMod or MMM (you can get both through ModMii) that you can use to convert installed titles into WAD's (It's in the any title manager in the advanced option if I remember correctly) you can then install the WAD's in your emuNAND

I don't know how to set up wiiflow.
Should someone just go ahead and start a thread for HOW to set up wiiflow, and everything that entails, until BostonBC gets his site up? Just a thought.
DUDE, you know you don't actually have to quote somebody in order to get the quote box to come up.
Code:
[quote="most noobs"]
blah blah
[/quote]
or at least remove the timestamp and post ID. That way I don't get a notification saying somebody quoted me and it ends up I'm being "quoted" as a noob saying something I didn't.

I do admit I was a little more noobish 6 months ago in that post you linked to :P but I must say I kinda dislike the reminder.

Ah yeah, strange that it only creates that path then, it should create alot of more, something seems to be not correct there... Can you post your wiiflow.ini as well please?
Just a thought, that MIGHT be if he's changed ALL the paths in wiiflow.ini to USB1:/... or USB2:/... but set data_on_usb (or whatever it is) set to "no"

Oh yes sorry, I adjusted my default wiiflow.ini, there's flat covers, and a covers dir, but it looks like you sorted it out.

Here's where you can get a good default.ini

http://code.google.com/p/open-wiiflow-mod/source/browse/trunk/wii/wiiflow/themes/default.ini

Y
ou'll notice in there, that there's different emuflows declared in there, those will fit the boxes you can download in that cover thread.
Your source menu is going to have a call for a specific emuflow=

Again, here's MY example (note some values of yours may change)

image=GB.png
image_s=GBb.png
source=plugin
magic=56424158
emuflow=6

This calls my gameboy boxes to be displayed with the emuflow_6 settings in that default.ini NES is emuflow=4 SNES is emuflow=2, etc, experiment!

Thanks for the information again failburn. So at the moment, my wiiflow/themes folder has no default.ini file in it. I am using the ANDRO!D theme from the Wiiflow themes thread. Can I just copy and paste the one from that Google page, then add that "emuflow" line to the emulator INI files located in my plugins folder?

Just to give you some options here's the themes pack (which also includes a default.ini, but does NOT include the android one the rest would just be additions to anything you currently have)
WiiFlow themes and Source menu packs. If you don't like them then don't use them. Read the README's for more info.
http://www.mediafire...snfxl7wz4bswaew
These are slightly different from the previous post on google source - they include mastershoes emuflow 4:3 edits and some minor changes. I'm hoping newbies will use the source_menu.ini in the AbdallahTerro folder since it matches Fix94's plugin pack.
According to googlecode,
Code:
use #2 for SNES/N64 and #6 for gamegear and all gameboy games.
do this by setting emuflow=2 or emuflow=6 for each of those buttons in the /wiiflow/source_menu/source_menu.ini file.
of the other emuflows included, half of them are Wii box size and half are more NES size. Take your pick between those for the the other plugins.

Just a thought, that MIGHT be if he's changed ALL the paths in wiiflow.ini to USB1:/... or USB2:/... but set data_on_usb (or whatever it is) set to "no"
As you can see from the log my paths are defined in the .ini as sd not usb (paths don't even exist on the usb drive). I have data_on_usb set to no and all my wiiflow folders on sd.
(I will post my .ini as soon as I can use my wii again, probs after work tomorrow)

I have also been playing around more with the video setting and I'm sure something weird is going on.

i. Seems like the first time a game is booted after the video setting is adjusted, wiiflow will blackscreen on loading. When you hard reset the wii and try to load the 2nd time it will work and from then on (if the game is compatible with the video mode selected of course)

ii. The "system" setting itself needs fixing I think.
I assumed it used the same setting for video as system menu but it doesn't I don't think... I think "system menu" setting which sets the display to whatever you set in system menu would be better if its possible.
There are a couple of games acting up that made me question the "system" display option recently..
"Wiifit plus" pal for example on "default" (progressive) setting doesn't work and on load blackscreens.
I tried "progressive" but this is what my default (global) wiiflow is set to, so like I expect it doesn't work either.
However when i select "system" or "pal 60" it loads? So it cannot be pulling the video mode from system menu because my wii is set to progressive and on "progressive" the game doesn't work.
The "system" setting in wiiflow seems to set a european Wii to the "pal" setting... I imagine on US/JP Wii it must set display to "NTSC" etc

iii. One of the last things I cannot get working is nand emu on sd.
Nand emu working no problem on usb but it always fails on sd. It seems almost like doesn't try to read it somehow (blocked/restricted?)... I hope if it is possible to get this working in the future.

I will once I have done more testing and checked with others, write these up on the bug report if thats the correct procedure.

Thanks.

Okay, sorry. I only glanced over the log and FIX's response. I didn't notice you have your paths set inside /config/wiiflow/ instead of just in /wiiflow/ which is the default. I guess WiiFlow takes for granted that all it's files and folders will be in /WiiFlow/ and creates it. That's my guess anyhow.

So I just stumbled upon Wii64/ WiiSX mods which enables USB compatibility. So my question is does anybody know which is better; wii64-mod4, or wii64-beta1.1.1? I'm sure the same answer would apply for the WiiSX mod too..

Thanks for the info Max. And thanks to everyone who helped me get back up to speed with Wiiflow. :) I realized I had to actually hold the B button to bring up the source menu and all the emulator games covers appeared way more improved!

Would be nice to have the covers look more aligned on the boxes, but for now, that's pretty much nit picking and someone might be working on it already.

Another idea I had: For boxes that are used for the SNES games or possibly other consoles, could Wiiflow automatically add an image to the ends of the boxes that are not covered with the game image in order to cover up the colors to make it look more like the original box? Say for instance an image like this:

super-nintendo-logo_tn.gif

I just thought it would make the boxes look more complete. :) Again, not sure how much time would have to be put in to implement this, but it was kinda like when New Super Mario Bros. for Wii came out and the one red box was added to the coding for it to stand out.

BTW. I think once the new releases of the N64 and PSX emulators come out with hopefully the ability to read games off a FAT32 partition... IT IS GOING TO BE EPIC! :D

Have your tried the mod versions of these apps? They both read from USB fat32 partition.

Also... i've been getting a lot of messages about how i setup seperate emu's and all that jazz... here's some info that i added to the intro post of my cover thread, hope this can help some people out!

I just added this info to the intro post in the cover thread, I hope it helps you out.

How to Use Full Covers With WiiFlow-Mod:

-You must be using one of the more current "Wiiflow-Mod" Beta Releases.. One that supports "emuflow".
-Rename the covers exactly to match your rom names, Here are some handy re-naming apps.. Fuzzyrename and BulkRenameUtility. Wait, your not done yet... you MUST ALSO INCLUDE THE ROM EXTENSION IN THE IMAGE NAME!! For example, if you're renaming your Nintendo 64 roms, they could be in a format of .n64, .v64, or .z64. These extensions MUST be include in the image filename! For Example - Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.z64(.png). Adding these extensions in bulk is EFFORTLESS with bulk rename utility. Open up explorer to view your filetypes, and add them all on as a "suffix". If you have multiple types of rom extensions for one emulator, just open up your folder containing the roms in Explorer, switch the view mode to "detail" and then select "type". That will seperate all your roms by there extension, and make it easier for you to group re-name.
-Put the fully Re-named covers into your wiiflow/boxcovers folder (or your custom folder setup in the .ini file - see the following example.) In this case the covers would go into "wiiflow/boxcovers/fceugx", and roms would go into "fceugx/roms".

[PLUGIN]

magic=46434555
coverColor=ff0000
coverFolder=fceugx
fileTypes=.nes|.fds|.nsf|.unf|.nez|.unif|.zip|.7z
romDir=fceugx/roms
dolFile=fceugx-mod9.dol
bannerSound=nes.ogg
displayname=FCEUltraGX
ReturnLoader=yes
consoleCoverID=nintendo

-If you want to split up your emulator roms for vbagx, genplusgx, or mednafen... check it out:
-You still only need the one .dol
-You will need an .ini file for each "seperate" system. (I.E. - GB/GBC/GBA... GEN/SMS/GG/SG1000... etc.)
-You will need to create a new magic number, with a value of at least "+10" of any other magic number... See the following example, Magic numbers in red.
-Also, only required for seperating gameboy games... roms must be in seperate folders, and the .ini must point there! Reason bieng that ".gb" will also be recognized by ".gbc" and ".gba". This conflict doesn't happen with genplus-gx or wiimednafen :). See the folder's seperated in Blue in the example.

[PLUGIN]
magic=56424158
coverColor=fcff00
coverFolder=GB
fileTypes=.gb
romDir=vbagx/roms/GB
dolFile=vbagx-mod9.dol
bannerSound=gba.ogg
displayname=Gameboy Classic
ReturnLoader=yes
consoleCoverID=nintendo

[PLUGIN]
magic=56424168
coverColor=fcff00
coverFolder=GBC
fileTypes=.gb|.sgb
romDir=vbagx/roms/GBC
dolFile=vbagx-mod9.dol
bannerSound=gba.ogg
displayname=Gameboy Color
ReturnLoader=yes
consoleCoverID=nintendo

[PLUGIN]
magic=56424178
coverColor=fcff00
coverFolder=GBA
fileTypes=.gba
romDir=vbagx/roms/GBA
dolFile=vbagx-mod9.dol
bannerSound=gba.ogg
displayname=Gameboy Advance
ReturnLoader=yes
consoleCoverID=nintendo

How to incorporate seperated emulators into your source_menu:

-Setup you're button's...
-Make sure your "buttons" name are the same as the .png's in your source_menu folder (In Blue).... "image_s" is the image that appears when "hovered"over.
-Make sure your "magic #'s" match between your "emulator.ini" file and "source_menu.ini" file.

[BUTTON_8]
image=GB.png
image_s=GBb.png
source=plugin
magic=56424158
emuflow=6

[BUTTON_9]
image=GBC.png
image_s=GBCb.png
source=plugin
magic=56424168
emuflow=6

[BUTTON_10]
image=GBA.png
image_s=GBAb.png
source=plugin
magic=56424178
emuflow=6

Hey mastershoes, just a quick thought, but if you standardised the magic numbers - even though they are really arbitrary - then It might help later on?
edit: I'm just thinking you are in the perfect position to do this, and then everyone has an agreed standard, and that might be useful to software/wiiflow/users in the future.

It's not his code that this stems from? (ie, the wiiflowmod plugins pack)

This is really unnecessary.

I THINK: mod4 uses arguments to boot game/return to wiiflow and USB2 loading.
wii64 1.1 honey is just the regular beta from emulateMii.
Not64 is a mod of wii64 honey that adds a few features but not compatibility :(

Not64:
Built with devkitRice.
Available for Wii and GameCube.
SMB share support from WiiSX.
IDE-EXI v1 support.
AESND-powered audio.
Minor performance enhancements.
Absolutely no compatibility improvements.
Graphics quality tweaks.
Recognize the NTSC Zelda bonus disc.

ScalePitch
Changes pitch according to emulation speed.
TrapFilter
Affects composite video, similar to GameCube output.
Recommended for lower-end CRT TVs.
smbusername, smbpassword, smbsharename, smbipaddr
Hopefully self-explanatory.

I finally figured out why I couldn't get The Smurf's Dance Party or Kirby's Return to Dreamland working on my Wii.

It turned out I had the default video set to NTSC. When I switched it to System default it worked fine!!!

Yeah, I wasted a lot of time on that.
Wow I can't wait to try this fix cuz I have the same setup with global default Video Mode set to NTSC and those 2 games are problematic for me as well. Maybe setting the individual game video setting to System will work as well :)

Funny I've been trying to figure out what the hell was wrong for a long time too, too bad I don't come home till Sunday lol!
Yep - when I finally figured it out I couldn't believe it was that simple.

BTW - I have one of my systems still set to NTSC and changed the individual game setting to System Default and it worked fine for both Kirby RTDL and The Smurfs.
Nuts, I have to set a number of games to NTSC or they won't work. Wondering if there is something that can be done globally in Wiiflow as CFG doesn't have the same problem.
