Here is what I see is the difference...

Simply insert both PASSCARD & flash card into the slots of NDS and that 's it!

As far as I can tell. the Passcard2 still has to have the boot file on your Flashcard. You then turn on your system (while the Passcard2 is NOT inserted), use the boot file, turn your system off, insert the Passcard2, and then turn your system on. It is a process.

With this "New: Passcard... just put it in your system, turn it on, and your good to go. No more steps or boot file.

I have the passcard 2. After the inital program (which was very simple) it's just a matter of leaving the passcard 2 and my M3 slim in my DS. Turn on the DS and it loads to the M3 menu. Easy as Pie!

Juse like Accolon says.

Whats the difference between this one and the Passcard 2? Don't both work on the DS lite?

I am seriously considering looking into this. Well, either this or the MML. I am starting to get a little sick of my Passkey2 sticking out of my DS.

I never understood why so many people are talking about this complicated booting process, perhaps I'm missing something?

I've got a DS and a DS Lite, as well as a Passkey2 (came with my M3 SD) and a Max Media Launcher. No matter which combination I think of, for me it has always been simply a matter of plugging in both the M3 and one of the pass devices and turning the DS on. The DS boots into the M3 menu, and that's it.

I had to program the Passkey2 before I could use it, but all I had to do was to run the GBA ROM containing the configuration software once and select the DS game I wanted to use with the Passkey from that moment on.

So why do people have to go through all the things skfields01 described above?

this is only the case with m3...with my supercard it must be done everytime...thats why this is very nice

Did I pick up correctly that the MML does not work correctly with sleep mode (stuttering)?

People are misunderstanding, that's why.

The programming of the PassCard 2 & PassKey 2 are one time events folks!

After the devices have been programmed - you simply insert and go.

I think people are confused because the Superpass2 has to follow the boot up procedure everytime you use the device, this is because the Supercard (Not the mini) does not contain a battery to retain the SRAM.

As others have stated though screw all these passme devices coming out just use flashme, best of all worlds.
Don't winge to me about the risk of bricking, there is deadset zero risk if you follow a careful procedure.

mwingboy is correct.

I only have the Supercard SD and MiniSD Supercard. Not sure how the M3 works, but with the original Supercard... you had to do the boot sequence everytime. Now with the MiniSD version you don't. This new Passcard 3 solves all those problems across all Flashcart versions. It is just an all around better version of a pass through device... more compatible lets say.

I on the other hand really use Flashme for my NDS's, but it can't hurt to have a backup just in case Nintendo implements a new blocking method.

So it will draw less battery huh??

Well we'll just have to wait and see how big the difference is with the battery power of passcard 2 and 3 when the review on it is released.
