I personally think this controller will be a nice addition to those who don't like using an unnecessarily large controller for games that doesn't utilize it's features. Originality is never an issue for me as controllers all ultimately expand upon each other and take ideas from the same source, it's all about the comfort and usage. Sony has used the exact same controller for every Playstation and I hardly see anyone complaining about that.

I'm mostly interested in the online services and what they will bring to it. Redefined Virtual Console maybe?

I think it looks pretty cool...bout time Nintendo made a hardcore gamer looking controller

You know, looking at this, it almost feels like you are trying to show that Nintendo wasn't copying the 360 controller with their WiiU Pro controller.

I don't think anyone's disputing that...

The only bad thing about the 360 controller was the D-pad.
The D-pad is Nintendo's signature input method of control.

360 layout + Proper D-pad = This beauty.

so wait with this your shooting yourself in the foot cux this look the same as the pro controller for the wiiu so like weres the ripoff now ?
People are arguing over the curvature of the new controller Valwin, only dumb people talk about button layout and features since most modern are based on old Nintendo tech.
Shoulder triggers, four face buttons in a diamond shape, analog sticks, handles and even the modern D-pad.

Sorry Toni!

Nintendo ripped off the design of their old controller for their new controller.

DAMMIT NINTENDO ALWAYS WITH THE REHASHES

Redefined Virtual Console maybe?

No.

NO.

NO.

NO!

I have owned my Wii since launch day. One of the features I was stoked about was N64 virtual console specifically. Five years go by, and look at the selection. Five generations of Nintendo games on one platform my ASS.

Nintendo can piss off with their Virtual Console -- they don't know how to do it, and will probably never know.

At least it's better than PC emulation for many of the n64 games so they obviously knew how to make it work properly.
I agree with you about the selection and sadly in many cases it was because of copyright bullshit. Nintendo released most of their first party titles at least.

One thing I remember being specifically let down by was no n64 rare games VC releases of the n64 Mystical Ninja/Ganbare Goemon titles. Nintendo made a really sloppy job with contacting third parties for VC.

I just hope Nintendo finally let's you charge your remotes instead of constantly buying batteries for them or even from buying a stupid adapter that stops working after 3 weeks.

I read all six pages. And honestly...

Am I really the first person to notice that that freakin' thing is black?

(racism pun...ya gotta love 'em! :P )

Thus far, all the shown images, videos and case models of both the console and the (normal) controller are white. This pro doohickey is black. And I'm not much of a fashion designer, but just going with two totally different color styles*...I just don't buy it. So I'm willing to speculate different colors of the console/default controller will be available rather soonish.
I'd say "at launch", but...was it mentioned anywhere that this pro controller would be available at launch time?

For the controller itself...I honestly couldn't care less. My first thought was "good...this'll shut up these guys who like their PS360 controllers more". I'll probably pick one up at one point in the lifespan (kinda depends on the price), but certainly not at launch time. If I wanted to play a port of an XBOX game with a controller that basically is one, I'd be doing that already instead of waiting 'till it has a nintendo-logo a retarded console name slapped on the side.

*for this post, black and white DO count as colors, so STFU

I suppose they havn't included triggers to both the controllers (vanilla and pro).

When the Gamecube did have triggers.

The pro controller looks amazing. It better be available at launch cuz isn't the WiiU suppose to be a more gamer oriented console? Also, remember Nintendo had the first controller, in terms of the big three developers atm, and so Nintendo can't copy what they originally invented XD

I'm pretty sure they will release the pro controller at launch. We will see confirmation of this tomorrow at their conference. Also, people are debating (or ranting) about the design of the controller being copied, not who invented it first.

if you look at the top of the new controller, there appears to be a mini-usb port. i think we can safely assume this works in the same vein as Dualshock 3 and plugs into one the consoles 4 USB ports

It looks okay (shaped like a 360 controller, though, which is uncomfortable),

Uncomfortable? I use one to play Skyrim on my laptop and it feels just fine to me....

Not sure if you knew, but not everyone has the same size and shape of hands.

I find the 360 controller extremely uncomfortable, unlike Playstation controllers or the Gamecube controller.
