Use a very old ver of USB LOADER GX 1,0 and it worked very well.
saw that ver 3 had come, uninstall the old and install the new one in instead for the Wii channels plus I also put it into the HBS.

I will start it from the Wii channels are TV just black and nothing more happens and I have to turn off my Wii.
But I start it from the HBS works very well.

But I want to run it from the Wii channels without having to go way to the HBS.

Tried to uninstall it and replace the old files that I had left but now I can not install it it will not up on the Wii channels and more it's not there after install.

What I have in my Wii, I know not very many years since I soft mod it is also hard mod because I have the courage not to bother me because everything has worked until I came to the last story.

and also the last story turns black if I try to run from HD but works from the disc.

only where it is also black from disc read that I would update and use the D2X.

I installed the D2X CIO-v7-final and used the base CIO 37 and CIO Revision 21077.

And my old usb loader GX 1.0 worked still.

was able to run the last story from disk but not from usb loader.

check if there was a newer and saw that 3.0 was out. want to test if I could get the last story from HD to work so I do not need to use the disc.

But 3.0 is just black from the Wii Channels and nothing happens.

How I will get it to work from Wii channels without TV goes black. Have tried many different things but nothing works.

Sorry for my bad english hope you understand anyway.

If it works from the Homebrew Channel (HBC, not HBS), and not from the System menu, maybe you need to update the latest Forwarder channel (use a wad manager to install it) and install IOS58.

About cIOS d2x, V7 is not the new one.
You can install v8 final, or v9beta.

If Last Story doesn't work from USB, try dumping the game again.
Its working fine from USB for every one else.
Try deleting the config file of USBLoaderGX if you are not sure what settings you need. default settings are good.

Another issue. I can't get gamecube cheats to work. I made sure the path is correct. It's currently set to SD:\codes\ and I have the .gct files in that folder. I used the Gecko Cheat Code Manager to create the .gct files. It might be the program I used isn't creating the files correctly. I tried opening them with notepad and it was some weird looking characters. Any ideas?

you can try creating the GCT directly from USBLoader GX Ocarina menu. It will download the codes list, select the one you want and click create to generate the gct.

It's normal that you have weird character in the .gct, it's a compiled form used by the debugger. You can only "human read" the gameID.txt in SD:\textcode\ path.

Unfortunately, geckocodes.org has a very limited gamecube database so I had to create these manually. As a workaround I decided to create my own txtcode files and see if it'll work.

Are banners that are temporarily created for GameCube games stored in the cache_bnr folder on the SD card? I can't seem to find a cached GameCube banner of Animal Crossing so I can take it and make a channel on my System Menu.

GameCube banners are not Temporarily created, they are generated on the fly on each games.

It's an internal banner animation/icon animation (created by diddy81) stored in USBGX code, which is dynamically modified by using the game's informations. it's not loaded nor saved to an external source.

All was working with 2.3.

I tried 3.0 but Exception DSI occurs (both from new forwarder or Homebrew channel). (system 4.1E, cIOS d2x9 beta)

gan:
I suppose it's when launching the loader, and not when doing a specific action inside the loader.

Does it happen when launching from HBC too?
Just to know if it's channel related.

If it's the controller, does it work with other homebrew?
If it's a problem with LibOGC, it might not work with other homebrew compiled with devkit PPC r26 either.

If it's related to PPCr26, I can compile you a version with an older devkit. though, Wiimote with internal motion+ could not work anymore.

@ jinxdink: No, it's not a 3rd party controller or classic pad problem, because i don't own any of them. I was believing it was gamecube memory card (3rd party) or gamecude SD key but i got the same error with both unplugged.

@ Cyan: as i said it is not channel related, result is the same even with forwarder or HBC launch.

Last try: boot with HDD unplugged . . . . and surprise, now it boots !

So for me the loader works but not with my HDD ! Back to 2.3

Precision: i use the WiiMote+ (motion plus inside) and my HDD is a 320 Gb Toshiba (E04X) USB-alimented.

right, I misread it as "the forwarder and the channel".
So, it's more a hdd problem than an incompatible controller.

Someone else has reported a problem with the drive detection (but no code dump for him, just that he can't reboot the loader without replugging the HDD).

Yes and it is very surprising because i used the same HDD since the early versions of USB loader GX and it has always worked.

In your case the drive is detected and works. The reason for the crash might lie in some of the stuff read from the drive. One possiblity is a corrupt partition, just do a partition check on your PC. If that doesn't help it is one of the files or whatever the loader is trying to access. Start by removing old configs and if that doesn't help try renaming your game path into something else so the loader doesn't find it and starts with an empty game list. If that helps go on and narrow down the game that causes it. If you find the reason then we can do something about it.

Thank you Dimok, you're right !

I renamed the config folder and it boot normally !

I don't even know what file was wrong (I just know that it wasn't the config file because erasing it didn't affect the black boot screen).

I have now to redirect all paths.

Thanks all !

Edit: after more tests, i found that it was the thème (Windows Dark) which was causing the dump.

I'm glad you could narrow the problem down.
Maybe one of the theme file got corrupted. Did you try re-downloading and using the same theme? it should work fine after re-downloading the theme.

i just got a new 2tb hdd for my wii stuff, now emunand channels are not launching properly. it started out good, then progressively got worse. i first tried with d2x v8 final, then i switched to d2x v9 b49, but same issues.

at first emunand channels and games worked fine, it was wii games that were taking up to 1-1 1/2 mins to load, so i figured crap maybe its d2x since it was happening in wiiflow and gx. updated to d2x v9 and it worked much faster, it boots like it used to on my WD 1tb. but the emunand channels stopped (im trying to load wiiware). i tried with both gx v3.0 and r1188 thats posted on the googlecode, i know its beta, but just trying to provide feedback and maybe even get help with the issue.

does this sound like its gx or cios related?

it seems setting to partial for both emunand and saves makes everything great.

except GC. i have to have force interlace mode on in order for my gc games to boot. im on latest DML 1.4b. games boot fine if its interlace on. i have component cables and never had an issue with 480p before, i normally choose the option.

eh could be either, or a mixture of those and your drive. Try a defrag/chkdsk on your drive see if it might help

Yes i redownload the theme and obtain the same result (black screen at loader boot).

My prob has not ended in fact: i can see and play channels (both wii and emu Nand) but it crashes when loading Wii Game.

Is there a limit in the name lenght of the game name ?
