I actually enjoy Lords of Shadows, it's a pretty good game, as long as you don't think of it as a Castlevania game but rather as some sort of dark ages action game. =3

As for Mirror of Fate, it'd be awesome, the 3DS really needs a Castlevania, heck, Castlevania games are one of the few game series that I always enjoy playing on a GBA/DS, etc, they're really awesome for portable gamming, plus, the game has that amazing charm to it, just impossible to hate those games. *-*
It's been so long since Order of Ecclesia. D=

If it's 2D and Metroidvania style like most have said this is a must buy for me. I really wished they hadn't rebooted the series though, I'll miss Alucard and Soma.

A 3DS Castlevania game in the works is no surprise to me. You knew that at least one would get released for the handheld. I'm guessing more will eventually come. As for the console game I really couldn't care any less. I didn't play the first LoS game but that's only because I gave up on 3D Castlevania's long ago. 2D is where it's at in this series...

no idea why, but the only metroidvania game i actually still enjoy playing after the first time through, is dawn of sorrow.

i liked the whole two characters idea, but i was so happy when i could finally lay off portrait of ruin again, similar with order of eclesia, which just didnt feel right from the very beginning in some aspects. i had fun for a while with albus mode, but it got stale pretty fast also.

but soma, i can still play this game just fine. i'd like to see another one with soma

i have to go and dissagree with whoever said something about the potential still left in the story though.
every x years, another guy has to go fight it out with dracula or any of his evil servants. thats it. its never going to get much better, everything around it is just a petty attempt at making the character likable.

i didnt really need that weird fighting between the two characters back in the first gba castlevania, it was so unnecessary really. similar thing with somas girlfriend, yeah its great that he's the first dracula slayer to have gotten laid even before he killed the evil vampires soul or whatever, but did we really need her there? hammer too. he was good for a few lines, but other than that?

lets just face it, castlevanias story has, at best, been slapped on. i'd rank it about at the same level as most of the pokemon games. all of them together, maybe slightly above pokemon... yeah. still enjoyable.

also, if they ever make a true castlevania (belmont+real dracula) with a real, fleshed out story with subplots and a rising arc of excitement and whatever, people will be unhappy with it anyway. they so often are, when old games get newage stories..

I'm hoping that this goes back to the Metroidvania style that the series has used so well. But whatever you do, Konami, please, for the love of all that is holy and sacred in this world, DO NOT make another Castlevania fighting game.

Been waiting for a 3DS Castlevania! My first serious Castlevania experience was Order of Ecclesia and I've been waiting for another portable game. E3 can't come soon enough.

It either has to be metroidvania, or action like Curse of Darkness (and good luck with that on a 3DS).

LoS was the biggest pile of shit i've ever played with the Castlevania name loosely slapped onto it.

Aww, I shed tears for you and Gabriel Belmont :(. Looks like I'm in the minority of people who actually liked Lords of Shadow.

I liked lords of shadow.

As for the 3DS game, I don't have even have a 3DS, but I'll probably buy this anyway as I do intend to get one at some point, and the GBA and DS games didn't seem to have a very long print run :(, so I won't risk it with this.

Wasn't Lords of Shadow 2 announced a long time ago? I'm pretty sure the same spanish developer was to proceed in making a second game. I read this a long time ago, like one or two months after the release of the first Lords of Shadow.
I really enjoyed the first game, it had FANTASTIC music as it was made with a real life orchestra. Not the great melodies we're used to.
But there's one song in particular I love and it's this one:

The voicework was great aswell. It was especially fun to listen to the storytelling in the beginning of each level, which was done by Patrick Stewart famous from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Castlevania coming for 3DS makes me really happy! :) I only have Kid Icarus, Mario Land and Tales of the Abyss right now. Almost done with each of the games. Not finished any of them ;)
