Requesting a perfect save as well. I couldn't get past 3rd remix without the save earlier, but it's stuck at 6th remix. Black screen every time.

Well, I guess I'm back to work on something new with all this with the US release.

Basically, an undub patch isn't going to happen since the music and such takes up over half the size of the game. And image/text replacement the other way around probably would still be a pretty big patch, although I'm not certain or anything yet.

But I have attempted making an undubbed ISO is the most simple way, by just replacing the rev_tengoku.brsar from the Japanese version into the US version of the game, and that didn't work. The game played and everything, but at least in the game I tested it in (Ringside, the wrestler interview) it played the music but not the cues. I don't know if that means it just wasn't loading the cues or it wasn't loading the sounds that were changed since I only tried it with Ringside before I went back to playing through the game normally (Beat up through Remix 5 in about 2 hours total) since I'd like to have as much unlocked as possible before I try anything else.

EDIT: I tried it again, and it does only break the SFX, but only in some games. And if it doesn't work in a game, it won't work for that game in whatever Remix it appears in. And it's not dependent on dubbed/undubbed, so I'm guessing it's related to the index or something in the brsar. Works out like so from what I tested:

General Sound Effects - Works
Packing Pests - Works
Shrimp Shuffle - Works
Board Meeting - Works
Micro-Row - Works
Double Date - Doesn't Work
Donk-Donk - Doesn't Work
Fork Lifter - Doesn't Work
Air Rally - Doesn't Work
Cheer Readers - Works
Figure Fighter - Doesn't Work
Samurai Slice - Doesn't Work
Flock Step - Works
Assembly Line - Works
Screwbot Factory - Works
Bossa Nova - Works
Hole in One- Doesn't Work
See-Saw - Doesn't Work
Monkey Watch - Works
Catch of the Day - Works
Exhibition Match - Doesn't Work (Crowd Does, maybe General Effect?)
Rhythm Rockets - Doesn't Work
Love Rap - Doesn't Work
Tambourine - Works
Tap Troupe - Doesn't Work
Flipper-Flop - Doesn't Work
Karate Man - Works
Rhythm Test - Doesn't Work
Ringside - Doesn't Work
Working Dough - Works
Night Walk - Doesn't Work

General Endless - Doesn't Work
Mr. Upbeat - Doesn't Work
Wake-Up Caller - Doesn't Work
Munchy Monk - Doesn't Work
Lady Cupid - Doesn't Work (Stage Clear does.)

Rhythm Toys General - I think it works, do they have any contant sounds?
Toy Car - Works
Police Call - Doesn't Work
Mr. Hi-Hat - Doesn't Work
Rhythm Fighter - I'll Test Later...

My next plan of action is an attempt at replacing the US text and image szs files in the Japanese version to see if that'll work at all because it sounds simple enough to not work either. After that it's replacing the individual files in those SZS files, which will probably work since image replacement worked before that way. But that's a bit more work and also inolves going through every stage to see what graphics are editied in the US version. In this case the UNDUB would be based on the Japanese version.

EDIT: The plan above didn't work that well either. It might be failing because I'm replacing a lot of files en masse, but when I do so it just stops loading anything from the cellanim folder. Which basically results in the opposite problem from above, you've got the music and signals of the Japanese version, but there's not images in game at all. However, everything in the layout folder seems to work fine so in that case you can navigate the game fine up to when you start playing. It also runs in english when running from the U_riq.szs when replacing text the files in it with the US versions.

For an undub based off the US version that rev_tengoku.brsar replacement would have to work, or I'd need a way to edit the files in the brsar and I have no idea if there's any tools to do that out there, but I haven't found any in all of my searching on my phone today. Since I was really hoping just switching the file would work. Either way I'm going to go back and see if it's just the cues not loading or if it's the sound files that would be different in the brsar that aren't loading.

Other than that there's not much else to say until I'm back home later today. Here's the dubbed songs wiyth lyrics however.

Hey there, link to the finished fan-translation seems to be dead and I can't find it anywhere. Would you be willing to potentially re-upload it?

Thanks.

Hey, I have wiiscrubber and I go to partition 1 and see a list of (shortened) names of the games. How do I rip music from it? I extracted the szs files, but winamp says they have 0:00 playback. They're also only in the range of 100-400kb in size. Where is the music stored?

incube.dll may help. Or open with a hex editor and post a screenshot of the first few lines from it. That should include the "header", which you can google to find more about.

I think I already installed incube.dll a long time ago so Winamp could play the brstm files from other games. Wiiscrubber only shows me .szs files in Partition 1>EN>content2>cellanim>[Name of game].

I extracted an .szs file (all of them were named cellanim.szs) and remamed it to the name of the game.

This is the hex code for the cellenim.szs file found under Double Date 00 to FF. I know that the header of file sis suppose to tell the executer how to run it or something like that...but 400kb seems too small to have any sort of streaming music on it. (417kb). So where could the music be?

Yaz0 is a known compression format.

I would use WinDirStat to find the biggest files in your game dump. Chances are there's a big soundtrack file that you're missing.

Interesting. I will begin looking for said files of that quality.

I looked and I haven't found anything resembling a decently sized file.

I opened up all the folders, and my only conclusion can be that the music is stored on a single file, such as a bin file.

I'll extract some of these, (as WiiScrubber doesn't tell me the file size until I extract).

They couldn't be the .wad files could they? There are dozens of them in the .iso. But they don't give any hint into what they hold.

NEWS

I found a big file called rev_tengoku.brsar that's 324MB in the content2 folder. Could thid be it? The first 4 bytes call it RSAR.

At the bottom of the byte code the bytes start to translate into bgm and Loop start and Track_1.

If this is where the music is located, then how would I extract them?

Well, you can try decompressing the Yaz0 files (using Wiimm's SZS Tools). But you're right, they probably aren't soundtrack files.

Use WIT (Wiimm's ISO Tools). Open up WIT's folder and run
wit-console.bat
then type
Code:
wit copy "c:\location\of\iso.iso" "c:\location\of\output\"
Make sure to have that slash at the end before the quote. Then press enter. WIT should copy the entire file structure to the folder you chose.
Open the folder with WinDirStat and you can see which files are the largest. Are the .wad files in the UPDATE partition? If so, they are Wii update files and are unrelated to your search.

Finally, as a soundtrack has already been ripped, some Googling might help you find a user who knows where the sound files are stored.

Yes, you're right, a soundtrack has already been ripped, but the problem with that is that it has only been ripped from the japanese version of the iso.

According to the person who ripped it, the japanese .iso contained the songs in brstm format. So if I want to rip these songs for myself, I'll have to download the japanese iso file.

The ripped soundtrack on the internet only exists as a full set of .mp3 files or a partial set of .brstm files, and I want all of the brstm files. So I better just download the japanese iso.

But I'll do what you said, with WIT. So this will reveal what's inside that brsar file?

EDIT

Well wit copying does exactly what it says: it copies the .iso file, but that's it. I admit it does it much faster than windows does it which I find so strange...Anyways, I'll check out the other commands on Wiimm's website.

I also got WinDirStat as you said. I see the .iso file but I don't see the largest file. the .iso isn't broken down. should I use WIT's extract tool?

Do this to extract. Then WinDirStat will break down the folder of extracted files for you, telling you which files are the biggest.

Code:
wit x "c:\location\of\iso.iso" "c:\location\of\output\"

Cursed windows...Now wit-console.bat doesn't run. It just flashes on the screen. It comes up and exits. I can't get it to stay. Why is it doing this to me now? I tried to run it as admin, didn't work. I reinstalled it. didn't work.

EDIT

Well I'll get it to run eventually. Probably re-downloading will work because re-installing it didn't do nuttin. So once I find the largest file...then what? Find out what file type it is and then we'll go from there?
