Lets do more math. and correction to my above statement

I currently pay a flat yearly fee of $20 for 80 gigs of space (not including the roughly extra seven gigs). That breaks down to .25 cents a gig

The next step up from the $2.99 monthly plan on Google Drive is a $59.98 yearly plan for 100 gigs which breaks down to .59 cents a gig... see the difference??

Hmm... Thinking of how easy is to create a free Google account...
Google Drive to be the next big thing in piracy and ISO sharing?

We'll see.
iirc, you need a mobile phone to sign up for google accounts
Sure as heck I didn't use one when I signed up for mine.

LMAO I have been saying this for months. It's SO easy to upload and share TV shows it's not even funny. You can basically create your own "personal Netflix of favorite TV shows and movies". I love Google Docs (now currently being re-branded to Google Drive)

this page https://www.google.com/settings/storage/?hl=en

It tells me my current rate (80Gb @ $20 yearly) the the next two going up are 100 Gigs @ $4.99/mo =$ 59.99 yearly and 200 Gigs at 9.99 monthly/119.88 yearly

my bad, i misread your post, thought you were talking monthly prices, as you mentioned the 2.99/month for 25gig, and then went on to yearly price for 100gig.....

What? I thought Google was on our side! They should be offering at least 1 TB for free and have people pay for 1.5 TB each year.

LMFAO! I wish! I would go crazy with a free TB :D

@Blainy: I'm just trying to make the point that the original Google Docs pricing was a hell of a lot better than the Google Drive version. Either way, the service is a great one and I think many of you will enjoy it!

I used to use Google Pages for occasional file-sharing, stuff I made or whatever.
This could be nice, and looks like a hefty competitor for dropbox with free 5gb right off the bat, hmm. It'll probably tie right together with my Gmail account, too.

Bleh Cloud storage sucks for people with data caps... They say its the future when more and more ISPs are imposing caps. :glare:

I still use Dropbox when I want to put a picture on my PC real quick when I don't have a USB cable near by, or if I need to share a file with a few people.

"Your Google Drive is not ready yet" :glare:

Only planning on using the free 5GB, i've had dropbox for ages and havn't gone over 1GB (i guess having a flash drive negates most reasons I would use the cloud), being a frequent user of Google docs means it makes more sense for me to switch over from Dropbox.

If you're already a google docs user the your five free gigs should have been added to your account sometime earlier this week. Google Drive = Google Docs with new features. You're not missing much, except file previews within docs and the PC/Mac dropbox apps.

I have a remaining 8.3 gigs out of 85 gigs to play with. Now I can finish off adding Kamen Rider Dragon Knight to my collection :P Thanks Google for my free four gigs :P

This is really awesome. I've been waiting for this for a while, actually. So it's pretty nice. Also, with those prices, Google can be as evil as they want because goddamn that's amazing.

Google Drive will also most likely make sharing files with Terminator02 and other podcast crew easier since I can now just drop my sound file into my Google Drive and bang I can share it to Terminator easily.

I plan to upgrade to a paid account soon.
