I find its easier to use the arrow keys and the A, S and D keys for my PC gaming unless its a click to select and so forth.

The roughly are arranged in the same position. So there is nothing tough about it.

Still I don't see why its hard to use the keyboard for platformers.

There are certain people who are used to playing games on consoles or getting used to not playing on their pcs that they ngo berserk trying to use the keyboard. They cannot even try to play a game like CIV Rev.

I did just fine playing Super Meat Boy and Cave Story+ with a keyboard. They're not horrible for platformers.
