Speaking of the Wizard of Oz, have any of you (mostly Pink Floyd fan) ever watched the Dark Side of the Rainbow? It's best when stoned.

It's brilliant. I made my own copy. Haven't been stoned (or drunk) for many years now , but still enjoy it just the same. Especially when great gig in the sky plays through the first time, that fits the tornado scene so well, and then the perfect transition to money as dorothy opens the door to reveal oz. Sheer perfection.

I was selling these on ebay a long time ago and I made close to $600 before ebay told me to stop. I added in subtitles to point out all the syncs and list a bunch of fun facts. I spent a number of months working on it and perfecting it.

EDIT: FYI so everyone knows, the ModMii website is currently down. It seems that our host is having some sort of issue. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I tried this several days ago on a virgin Wii 4.3U and it worked perfectly. However, I tried updating my outdated Wii 4.1U and it is not working now. Everything was working prior to doing this.

I created a report using System Checker (something like that), uploaded the report back to ModMii, downloading the proper files and installed everything exactly by the book. However, I noticed I did not check the last step thoroughly and that was to check if the Homebrew Channel was using a certain IOS (don't remember exactly) or was upside down. Since it was not upside down, I did not reinstall it. I restarted my Wii and now none of my homebrew programs will load. I get a black screen and have to hold the power for several seconds to force-shut off the system.

Can someone please help me? I've tried using bomberbomb to reinstall but that doesn't work. Any help please. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I'm in the process of restoring with BootMii Recovery. Hopefully this fixes anything that went wrong. WIsh me luck. I will update on the status here.

EDIT 2: Well it fixed it as my HBC works again but I am now using a Wii on 3.1U LOL. WOW my backup was old. Well I'm going to try this again but this time I will CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS. I'll report my progress in a bit.

EDIT 3: It worked perfectly once again. I can't stress it enough how good this damn software is. Thanks for this excellent tool. Makes hacking the Wii extremely easy and safe.

Can anyone provide some insight as to why I can't get neek2o to work?

I've taken a few different approaches, but will describe my latest attempt.

I started fresh with a formatted sd card (2gb non-hd fat32 32kb cluster size) and 500gb sata drive in a usb2 enclosure (works fine with usb loaders) also fat32 32kb clusters.

I used the classic modmii v6.0.7 (should be latest) to install the latest neek2o (v75) along with a built nand (used my wii's serial).

Since neek2o supports wbfs, I used wiibackupmanager to add a few games as wbfs files. I also tried using modmii just in case there needed to be at least one game in the games directory.

Regular bootmii loads perfectly off the sd card, but neek2o just hits a black screen, losing controller connection, and requiring holding the power for a few seconds. I let it sit for over an hour before I pulled the plug.

Using the neek2o channel results in the same thing.

I've cleaned up the wii nand, restoring sm4.3, all ioses, and removed priiloader. Updated to HBC v1.1.0 and reinstalled bootmii.

Unfortuantely, I don't have the front piece to the wii, so no flashing drive light for me.

Any ideas?

what kind of drive is it, an does it have the pig tails(usb cord) or the seprate power cord? i know for personal use of the same kind of drive ( old laptop hd in a case.). it just wouldn't load neek2o no matter what i did. neek2o just didn't seem to like the hard drive. mine was a blue carver(cavier/ what ever) from western digital, found in a lot of laptops.

It's a 3.5" 7200rpm 500gb wd aaks housed in a "known-good enclosure" at least from what I've read. It's not usb powered (don't think there are any usb powered 3.5" enclosures since usb is 500ma iirc).

I'll try sneek instead of uneek to rule out the usb drive tomorrow. I just tried a different enclosure that I had, and got the same results.

do u have multiple nands in nands folder?
did u try to delete nandcfg.bin and di.bin from Sneek folder in usb or SD root?
if u have multiple nands delete the above files and create a txt file in Sneek folder and rename it to nandpath.bin, open the file and type the path to your nand ex "/Nands/nand1" hit enter and save
try now using neek2o channel.

Just a single nand. No nandcfg.bin in sneek folder from modmii. Just tried deleting di.bin but it made no difference. Going to try sneek this time to try and rule out usb. I understand sneek does not need a usb drive right?

Update: Strange. I finally noticed it wasn't picking up my usb drive at all in anything, even my usbloader. Unplug/replug and everything worked immediately. Must have been a bad connection.

User error.

Thanks

Calling all current and prospective members of the Wii Hacking Community!

DeadlyFoez, myself and a few others are trying to hold a Wii raffle! If it's successful we will likely hold more raffles in the future.

So here's the deal:
  • $1 will get you 1 eticket in the raffle
  • 1 eticket per prize will be randomly drawn only when enough etickets have been sold to cover the cost of prize(s) and estimated S&H costs

There will be one grand prize, and if enough etickets are sold there will also be four other smaller prizes.

We will be raffling off one of the new Wii's that do not have the GameCube ports, but DeadlyFoez will add the GC ports before shipping the prize to the winner. This will benefit not only the winner but the community as a whole because DeadlyFoez will be able to take a raw nand dump of the new Wii and share it with devs like giantpune; this will likely lead to better support of apps designed to run on non-softmodded Wii's (i.e. virgin Wii's).

If you are interested in participating, please show your support by voting in the poll found HERE. Once we are certain there is enough interest we will begin accepting eticket purchases but not a second sooner.

There seems to be a problem with your download site.

When I try to download Modmii Installer I get warning about this Internet site requesting LAN resources.

Also I have download ModMii6.0.7.zip and ran Modmii.exe.

Everything works fine to the point where it is downloading files and I get error: archive not found when it attempts
to download BootMii SD Files. And then skips it.

I have tried rerunning Modmii.exe the last few days and keep getting the same problem.

I didn't have this problem about a couple months ago when I downloaded ModMii6.0.3.zip and use it to sucessfully modded my first Wii.

I tried useing ModMii6.0.3.zip again and got the same BootMii SD Files archive not found error plus Hackmii files had wrong checksum.

Modmii is getting it's files from all kind of different download locations. The homebrew channel was recently updated from rev. 1.08 to rev 1.1.0 . Maybe that's why the older modmii version is giving you the wrong checksum (It's actually a hash I think) It might be worth to check the changelog between 6.0.3 and 6.0.7 to see if something changed related to the hackmii installer. It's also possible Team Twizzers made some recent changes to that installer, and modmii isn't upgraded yet for it.

Considering the bootmii sd files. You could try to manually download them from the modmii location. It could be something xflak needs to look at. Maybe they dissapeared from their location.

ModMii will always download the latest version of the hackmii installer, v6.0.3 is downloading v1.0 of the installer but it's expecting to find v0.8, so that's why it's considered "invalid", this is not an issue.

It sounds like you might be having issues accessing this download link (which btw still works for me). If you cannot access it via your browser then it's definitely not a modmii issue.
http://static.hackmii.com/bootmii_sd_files.zip

The bootmii sd files are not an extremely vital download, these files can be created using the hackmii installer. So if this is all you're missing you can continue with the guide, just be sure you either use the hackmii installer to manually install bootmii or prepare an sd card.
