Maybe it's a hardware issue. Check the channel used by your router wifi and try another one.
Not a nearby one, but more like a switch from channel 2 to channel 12 or the other way around.
It could be worth trying another router as well.
Since you also have the problem with games, it doesn't sound like a hbc specific problem.

Channels are 1, 6 and last one.

Run airodump-ng to determine best one.

More like usb ethernet module for start with static ip.

It's not just the channel with least signal from nearby routers.
I have seen wifi transceivers that have problems with the higher frequencies and work fine with the lower ones.

Hi, Everyone

I have discovered one issue about new HBC.

It can't load the apps when there are some directory name with chinese_t in the root of the HDD (FAT format).
It just show nothing in the screen.
The HDD are ok for sure.
If you rename the directory to english name.
It will be normal again.
(I have tested for 3 different wii and HDD)

I think there must be something wrong about the new HBC or libogc/libfat.

Are there any answer for this ?

Thanks!!

After updating to the 1.1.0 via the update prompt on 1.0.8 most of my apps (including CFG loader) do not display in the list!?
They are definitely still there as WiiXplorer is one of the few apps that remains & I can see/boot the other apps on my SD card from that.

I running the latest hackmii installer again & uninstalling/installing Homebrew Channel 1.1.0 again but still the same - only a few of my apps are visible.
I tried launching the Homebrew Browser and updating the apps available on there (as I hadn't used them in a while) but the ones I updated still did not display.
I've since reinstalled the old 1.0.8 version and all my apps are back again - I don't think I'll bother with this update as everything seems to work with 1.0.8

FYI I'm running still running 3.2U, if that makes a difference.

if u have both an sd card and a fat3 usb hard drive plugged into the wii at the same time, the homebrew channel will online display the apps found on one of the devices. To access the options menu to change what device is being used, press "1" while in the HBC.

Thanks XFlak, I checked that - because I have different apps on my USB drive. The 1.1.0 version made a few of the apps on my USB drive 'disappear' as well.
Very strange.

Let's hope that v1.1.1 will be bug-free

I didn't realize that this was a bug until I read Joost's post. I had replaced several icon.png yesterday and I thought that SD files might be corrupted.

I think it's a buffer problem.

@JoostinOnline How many pages of homebrew do you have? (I have 5)

I just noticed this today. I booted up my tech wii that has bootmii installed to boot2 and I had an official savemii in, and then green LED that normally indicates that the system menu successfully went into RM lit up and my wii was sitting at the bootmii screen. I was like "wtf? Thats new". So I tried it again just to confirm and the green LED lit up again right as the drive light flashed twice. It even worked when I did not have an SD card in the slot.

So just to make sure that this was really the case that this was something new that they added in, I went to the wii in my living room, which still has v1.0.8 installed and sure enough it did not light up the green LED.

I haven't seen this documented anywhere else so I figured I might as well mention it to you all.

I know I'm one of the very few who owns an official savemii, but it is pretty neat that they are still doing further things with it even though barely anyone owns one. And it can be slightly helpful.

without the sd card inserted, the wii would normally boot the system menu. and the savemii makes the system menu do the recovery menu. so theres no surprise there.
if bootmii cant read your sd card for whatever reason, it will load the system menu, which will do its recovery menu because the savemii doomahicky.
with the sd card in, if there is no armboot.bin, it will load the system menu, yada, yada, recovery menu, no surprise there.
if you have the SD card in, with both the ppcboot.elf and armboot.bin, it will load that ppcboot.elf. and if that is the normal bootmii ui, it will do whatever the autoboot setting in the ini is set to. if you have it autobooting the system menu, yada yada, recovery menu, no surprise that it loads up.

what is your autoboot setting in the ini set to?

Ok. I guess I made my post a little confusing or easy to misunderstand.

Tech Wii: Has the latest bootmii installed on it. With an SD card inserted, savemii inserted, and no autoboot set in the bootmii.ini, the green LED on the savemii comes on when it passes through the bootmii bootstrap thats written in boot2. The green light will come on if the SD card inserted of not. It will com on exactly as the slot light flashes twice.

Other wii. Also has a vulnerable boot1. It was last updated to 1.0.8. The green led will only come on when it goes into recovery mode. It will not come on from bootmii in boot2 with or without the SD card inserted.

TT added the function with the newest bootmii boot2 bootstrap that will send the EXI function to the savemii to light up the green LED.

It's sorta of pointless since we can still see if the slot light flashes twice or not to determine if bootmii is installed to boot2, but it was just cool to see that they added that in.
