I changed the title a bit. I'm just a bit of a nitpick and the all caps and incorrect spelling of "eShop" kinda picked by nit. No offense was meant ;)

But I'm eager to see some real impressions. I've heard nothing but conflicting points from news outlets and really nothing from people here.

It is a fine demo with some really great 3D for the flora and fauna. The actual humans, not so much.

The game reaaaaally chugs along. I don't know the actual fps but if it reaches 30 at any point I would be shocked.

First Person mode is great though, wish you could just toggle it always on.

Alright, let's see...

The graphics look good on the 3DS. Some textures have been upgraded (just a little bit, when it comes to specular), but others look awful. Also, I was expecting some Hi-res models for the survival viewer items/foods, but it looks like this isn't gonna happen. And they should have put AA for 2D mode.

Gameplay-wise, not bad. I'm kinda used to MGS4 game style, and I never got to play MGS PW in the PSP (Only HD version), so it is a bit hard for me, but this should be fixed with the circle pad pro. Face buttons as camera aren't really an issue, only if you're trying to aim at something a bit far. The frame rate is the same as N64 OoT (around 25-30 fps, I think), so I don't mind if the gameplay frame rate stays like that, as long as they can fix it in the cutscenes.

Oh, and the motion controls are too gimmick, imo.

Another minor thing I noticed is that, in the original release, when you crossed a swamp, your pants would get dirty. this doesn't happen in the 3DS version.

3D is not strong IMO, but if you think it is, there's a 3D slider for that. 3rd person view uses 3D, while 1st person view doesn't (Due to the incident that happens later in the game).

Putting the HUD, map and everything else on the bottom screen is great, since you'll save time opening the Items/Weapons menu. Also, audio quality is as good as the original MGS3's.

I'm probably not getting this game even if they have fixed the frame rate issue, because I don't think of MGS3 as a game that you should play on the go (MGS PW sure, because it's divided into missions, and because it has multiplayer.). But that's just me. Worth the money if you never got a chance to play MGS3.

Here are some direct-feed screenshots of the game.

The demo is an old build from TGS. It has all the same frame-rate and graphical issues and is certainly not representative of the final game (according to reviewers). I don't understand why Konami would put this up.

Either as trollbait or the actual game is really like that.

Seriously, the controls are horrible. Why wouldn't they let us control the camera with the touch screen like the much mentioned RE:R? And please don't say CPP...

so they casualized the game?

bahahaha.
i'll give the demo a whirl tomorrow.
MGS3 PW and mgs4 all had auto aim >.>
Anyway it is still the amazing ps2 classic but in 3D and you can now move while crouching like a boss. Visually it looks just how I imagined it to be, cutscenes could be better as they tend to be choppy but who cares when you can CROUCH IN MGS3! The bottom screen is nice, a simplistic and aesthically appleasing gui with everything, no more pressing start for items and select for codec its all done thru the bottom screen. They also added peace walker icons, so now you can know when you can do different actions. I don't get why poeple are bitching about the controls, it was almost the same thing for the psp w/ peace walker but poeple fucking praised it. Honestly if you've never played mgs3 buy it for the 3ds since its obvious you dont have an HD console to play it, MGS3 has to be the best of the series everyone should play it and to prove it go listen to the theme song.

I've played Peace Walker at least and I never remember using auto aim. I've played it on the PSP and Xbox 360, neither had auto aim and I've used default settings last time I checked.

No one really praised Peace Walker's controls for the PSP. They thought they were good because there was no alternative. The 3DS has both a second analog stick add-on to use and a touch screen. They have options but they went with the one no one wanted.

I mentioned this in other threads, but while the CPP isn't "necessary", plenty of games will be doing their best to make you buy the peripheral to play it effectively.

Also you can crouch in MGS3, you just can't crouch walk though.

I've Player ist and I have to say the Look of the Game is Quite Good. The framerate though Not so much... The 3D is amazing BTW!

The fact that These developers stubburnly refuse to use the touchscreen for aiming Troubles me. At least give the option. Aiming with the Buttons is not acceptable!

Don't know about the Game, since I Never played any MGS Game.

Pressing select allowed you to auto-aim. But auto-aim is shit so no one used it.

I would agree with you on the rest of your post.

One thing I don't understand it the desire for touchscreen aiming. Getting the stylus out every so often would just personally irritate me in the end.

Never played MGS3 for PS2 so I came straight from MGS4 for PS3..

Love it. Only problem I have is the frame rate(immediately noticed at the beginning of the game) and there were a few times I actually needed to turn off the 3D cause of the intensity lol.

But yeah, I think I may get it just so I can play the MGS3...

I'm still debating whether I should get a Vita and just buy the HD version + other games.

This is my first MGS. And its not my type of game. Tried it and never will play it again I think.
Well, it's also my first time playing the game and it had an awesome feeling of suspense and action at the same time. The fighting style and target approaching looked so real that i almost throw my 3ds to the floor when a f***ing guard almost spotted me!!

I agree.

Honestly, I couldn't even finish the demo. Normally I give games a better shot, but it was awful enough for me to judge it before completing the whole demo.

Sure it's been improved since the demo was created, but still not my type of game. I hope everyone else enjoys it though. The more popular games on the 3DS the better!

Or you could just buy the HD version out already for the PS3.

Well I usually put the stylus in between my fingers and when I need to use it I don't need to take it out constantly. But I think stylus aiming is shit, I feel like people praise it so much because there's no other option and force themselves to love it. It's also about as comfortable as holding a whole pack of baby porcupines while you have arthritis.
