under neek2o will not work with usb. I have a new forwarder channel that load pl3 from isfs (usb in this case) but I need to test it before release it.

I have been trying to do this for probably around 25 hours (over the last 4 days) of searching and reading forums but no matter what I do I cannot seem to get past the No vulnerable ios found message. This is a virgin launch day Wii that was recently upgraded from 0.0u to 4.3u(never connected to internet until 4 days ago). I have tried the solution in the ModMii and am able to install all the wads successfully using MMM but when I click on apps and then the hackmii v.08 it still gives me the no vulnerable ios found message. It also gives the no vulnerable ios found error when I try the original ModMii way again too. Running sys check...not sure if that's even through modmii or not at this point... shows that nothing is patched and that rest are stubs.

This installer can NOT continue!

There is no usable or vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii.
Please note that we will not use fakesigned IOSes due to
security reasons. Only unpatched versions will be used!

Read the FAQ at: http://hbc.hackmii.com/faq/
Look for an updated version at: http://bootmii.org

If this is already the latest version... well, suck it.

I am completely lost. I've tried Mauifrogs guide, using dop mii to reinstall all the ios, and ModMii. Every guide usually finishes with "and now you have hbc reinstalled" yet they say its for virgin Wiis yet it would just be a normal installation. So confused. Help would be much much appreciated. Thanks.

I've had this message before, and sorry not to be able to help, but I can't for the life of me remember what I did to fix the issue (well not exactly). Maybe someone can fill in the gaps in my memory. hackmii installer I think used IOS34 so you may need to reinstall IOS34....I'll see if I can find the link...

Code:
https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/other-stuff/fix-hbc

I think it will first search for IOS34. If not you could also try IOS61 as I'm sure I had HBC running of IOS61 before I installed IOS58...of course you might just need to reinstall an unpatched IOS58.

Anyway, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong :)

Thanks. I forgot to mention that I've done that exact page before. Plus I've used dop mii to install every ios again. I've also tried http://www.wiihacks....cam-freeze.html On MMM or similar things when you run on a certain IOS it usually says it doesn't matter which you run it on but it always suggests one. What's happening here? I've overwritten ios58 so many times, and others. Even on that page it says results are that Hackmii works again. It's never worked the first time. I swear the problem is somehow linked to the fact that its a virgin 1st gen Wii but searching in that direction has led me nowhere. I'm so lost.

Not 100% sure but I think the Wii only supports SD Cards and not SDHC or micro SD cards. If you have a standard 2GB SD card give it a try.

Not true. A micro SD is just a SD card in smaller format. With an SD adapter its just like any other SD card.
The Wii works fine with SDHC cards too on SM 4.0+. BUT -the compability for SDHC cards in homebrew is a lot lower than normal SD cards, so therefore its recommended to use a non-hc card for homebrew.
There are also normal SD cards that just wont work for various reasons. Its possible metal might have one of those.

ok now i really don't understand
My MicroSD card plugged into a sd card adaptor gave the error cannot be used error, so i went to costco, bought a 4GB SHDC card, (they didn't have any normal SD cards, just SDHC) and i STILL get the same error

Any ideas? Cant be the port, as it detects that i plug a card in

I have found SD cards at wal mart, costco, bestbuy, etc. THey may not be by computers, or laptops. THey might be near cell phones, or photography, or digital photgraphs, or on end caps, or at the check out most recently at wal mart.. normal 2 gyg sd card sandisk 8 dollars... if you fail to find one simply point your browser to NEWEGG or another giaganto retail store online, point to 2 gyg sd card.. buy it. 2 dollars and free shipping... seriously.... SO.. once you get it.. and I have NO doubt your capable mind can find one now.... insert it into a port on your pc or laptop, and best to use the formater that MODMII provides? I think.. or you can do it manually.. this WILL work... no questions now can be asked !! as for other crap. I tried once to argue with Xflax and I ended up looking like an idiot.. He knows this stuff... so if I ever meet him it will be all hugs and kisses *I hope he is a girl.. ROFL * or Ill make my wife hug n kiss him.. Anyway now i have beaten tintin and have nothing further to do, since stupid D2x bs + uneek+DI sneek2o bullshit has litterally fixed every game i spent hours and hours remodding my wii for.. I now have no purpose and am afloat in boredom so I may come here and poke fun at you all. Now You guy who loves 17. and not 17b. your lucky it works, you probably have that one version on that one wii in that one country that works right. ;-) *been there done that, got the t shirt and ended up looking a total fool*...... SOOOO happy hacking, now If only they release this much antisipated Iphone 4s hacK already so I can start figuring those things out!!

*5 wii z I have hacked.. the last 2 using MOdmii, flawless.. EPIC.. in the past modding a wii = all day. WIth modmii recents, 40 minutes give or take. I think the nand back up takes like 25 of those minutes. lol TY XFLAX and community for making my life boring ;-)

OH and I would personally donate 10$ to the person who makes an app for the iphone so that when your in the store shopping for a hard drive you can scan its Bar code, and have it pull that one up on the compatibility list for wii... i had to look at each drive on my iphone web browser that they had in the store and look at a confusing chart to see which one was compatible for this last mod I did. LOL 99c app.. u could get rich too. LOL

I'm a noob and this is my 1st mod attempt:
-Non-modded 2006 White Wii (one of the lucky ones)
-3.4U firmware
-No internet connection
-2GB Sandisk SD card (brand new & ready to be utilized)
-Extra 1TB & 3TB USB Western Digital My Book Essential drives (chomping at the bit waiting for some action)

Seems that softmodding with Bannerbomb will be pretty easy and I'll be fairly protected if something goes wrong along the way, but I have a firmware question.

I see that upgrading to 4.1U firmware is recommended and have read online many places why. I've also read about the safe upgrade to 4.3 using the DOP-Mii method. It seems most of the comments I've read about NOT updating to 4.3 date back some time and are not very recent.

With the recent release of ModMii v5.1.1:
A) Is it safe to choose to upgrade to 4.3U? Does it incorporate the safe upgrade work-around as part of the process?
B) Should I use ModMii to install the 4.1 firmware then use the alternate method to update to 4.3?
C) Am I just being silly about wanting 4.3 & should I just stick with the 4.1 for now?
D) Are there any upcoming changes MtodMii will incorporate (such as postloader) that I should hold off and wait for? (I don't mind waiting)

I really like this all-in-one approach of ModMii and appreciate any suggestions before I use it.

B) Should I use ModMii to install the 4.1 firmware then use the alternate method to update to 4.3? No, you can use modmii to safely go right to 4.3 if you want
C) Am I just being silly about wanting 4.3 & should I just stick with the 4.1 for now? Yes, very silly, there is nothing a 4.3 softmodded wii that a softmodded 4.1 wii cannot. 4.3 just has more security, nothing else
D) Are there any upcoming changes MtodMii will incorporate (such as postloader) that I should hold off and wait for? (I don't mind waiting) Maybe some sneek-related stuff, but that's not a part of ModMii's basic softmod process anyways, so no need to wait

Wow, nothing like getting a lightning fast response & from the source itself, thank you!

10-4, I'll set my need to have the latest aside and proceed with the 4.1 option.

with ModMii v5.1.1 i downloaded 4.3E system menu and I got a brick, wich I recovered with preloader. I have found that the SM that you download with modmii has the 2EC2E6FBDFC52FE5174749E7032F1BAD MD5 and the one that i have downloaded vith NUSD is CAD93CA3CA41704B15BBEE95B2E6AAE2 with this one i recovered the brick though preloader, so i think that something is wrong with the program as i have downloaded both files with the same computer and with a minute or less of diference. If you want i can upload both files. Excuse my bad english but im not a newie on modding wiis

this is not a problem with ModMii... and there are more than 1 errors in your post so I'm not sure where to begin.

Firstly, the content included in WADs are the same regardless of what app you use to download the files from nintendo. But the actual packaging of the content differs between tools. Tool A might include a header, tool B might not, tool C may include a footer, etc. These are just a few explanations as to why packing a WAD with one tool will not have the same md5 as another tool, but will install the exact same content to the Wii. Btw, the md5 of the WAD you got from ModMii is correct and safe... if you were to unpack and compare it's unpacked contents to the wad you got from another source they would be identical.

Secondly, if it was installing the 4.3E System Menu WAD that caused the "brick" you would not have been able to access priiloader at all. Installing a system menu uninstalls priiloader (which anyone who isn't "a newie" to modding wii's should know).

I'm not sure what you did to semi-brick your wii, but I'm very happy to hear you have it fixed and I appreciate you bringing to my attention what you thought was a harmful ModMii bug. If you're as curious as I am to find the true cause of what semi-bricked you, you'll need to provide more information.
