@ SifJar
Version 0.22 generates video files unplayable on 3DS.

I have problem with converting top-bottom video (http://youtu.be/jPnM4E-tvT0), converted file is missing. Any help please?!

I convert this top-bottom video with 3ds Video v0.22 but to work fine, I have to change some part of the code.

Video: http://www.mediafire...md8o9jm09dkrlxo

I use this modified exe file, can anybody check it please?? http://mediafire.com/?rjlqp8l8rc1b1u6

It works, but cuts out some picture.
Comparison between videos generated with v0.21 and with v0.22-MOD
Yeah, it cut out some picture...
and flipped left and right so I now get that weird "inverted 3D" effect where the background pops out as the foreground, and vice versa.
I was using a side-by-side video.
This can be remidied by holding the 3DS at a 15 degree angle, but it's not the most comfortable of viewing positions.
Any ideas?

amzg's 3DS Video 0.22 modified converts and splits 3D vids perfectly, the only problem I'm stil having is that the first split part doesn't show in the 3DS's picture/video browser. It has the correct length (9:59) and is named accordingly (LLL_NNNN.AVI). Has anyone experienced the same and found a solution to it?

Btw this has always happened with every one of the various batch files I've tried for conversion and splitting. The first part just refuses to show up. Weird.

edit: an idea I just got tossed: the first part's splitting from 0:00 to 9:59. Could it be that it should start from 0:01???

And thanks to everybody who has put time and effort into this. Amazing stuff happening with the 3DS at the moment.

Dont have solution? Nothing try with 00:00:01? or put seconds in other format (00 only)

oh frick, I just destroyed my post. OK again.

You went from your own .22 version to create the test.exe, SifJar? It seems to work now, thumbnail shows, which before it didn't, but as all other parts is rejected by the 3DS. The .22 modified however produced viewable splits as I mentioned in my first post. So maybe it would have been better to compile the test.exe from amzg's modified version? So this is not a 100% confirmation but it looks mighty fine. Now to combine the .22 modified with splitting from 00:00:01 for final confirmation.

The post I accidentally erased was kind of better readable, but I hope I've been understandable. lol Again thanks for all your work everybody.

edit: and yeah, what Copeland said. Many youtube videos have left and right feed swapped for cross-eyed viewing, so it would be great to have the mirrored side by side option implemented in the next build. There was a code sniplet flying around somewhere which worked great with the command line version of ffmpeg for under ten minute videos.

Pretty much this. Is there any other way I can mirror the sides (if you get my meaning)?
Also, call me Jacob, my name's only like that because i'm logged in through Facebook :yay:

Guy.brush, I honestly have no idea what you are saying. Sorry.

Anyway, added v0.23 to the original post.

Changelog:
  • More bug fixes (thanks to amzg at GBATemp)
  • Remembers video folder
  • Source tidied a bit
If you could try this Guy.brush and tell me if it works or not, that'd be great. I'm afraid I really don't understand your post (could just be because I'm tried lol)

EDIT: Mirroring should probably make it into v0.24 ;)

EDIT: Guy.brush - I think I maybe understand what you're saying: That my v0.22 never worked at all for you, and only amzg's version did (but not for first part), and my "test.exe" worked only for the first part, and not the rest? Well v0.23 integrates amzg's bugfixes (I think all of them), so hopefully it should work fully. Feed back on this would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: If a mod sees this, could you remove the "v0.1" from the thread title? Seeing as I'm pushing out updates reasonably frequently it'd probably be best without a version number in the title.

Your 0.22 never produced viewable splits for me, the thumbnails were shown, (just not the first one), but they were rejected by the 3DS producing an error message.

I then tried "0.22 modified" by amzg, again showed thumbnails (except first one) and were perfectly viewable in 3D and super nice.

Then proposed 00:00:01 solution. With test.exe all thumbnails show in the 3DS's picture/video browser, but are all rejected again, including the now showing first part.

Which brings me to the question if you produced test.exe from the never working 0.22 you posted. Sorry if I'm talking jibberish, but I think this should bring across my point.

Yeah I understand now. And yes I did. But v0.23 incorporates the fixes of amzg's build, so it should hopefully work (and it also has the 00:00:01 fix, so hopefully all parts of the split video should work).

Let's hope it's worth it ;)
Yeah, so now all I need to get my particular video working is a mirroring side-by-side function, and a fix for a little of the picture being cut off to one side of the video (when using amzg's modified version).
I don't see myself putting 10+minute videos on my 3DS, so I couldn't care less about the "more than one video when over 10 minutes" function, although i'm sure plenty of others do.
Keep up the good work, SifJar, and thanks a heap for your feverent work.

Yes! Yes! Yes! 0.23 did the trick. All parts show, all parts play. Thank you SifJar! You da man!

Now for the hmmm part:

I've got a report from another user here:

TESTED THE .22 (modified) gui version on 1080p Lion King 3d SBS.
Length: 1:29:00 (i think)
Splits: 9 total (all working)
The convert was perfect. (3d working, sound working, video quality above average)
Quality Perfect.
Sound Perfect (on time).
3d: Perfect and working. Showed both depth and popout.
Files: All files were 9:59, First file showed and was working.
Brings up the question why for some splitting at 00:00:00 shows the first part and why for me it has to be 00:00:01. I'm using a ripped .ts video (side by side) for testing. I don't know what source format this user used. Two possibilities as I see it:

1) It has to do with the source format
2) It's really about having a "signal" at 00:00:00 that triggers the 3DS to show the thumbnail.

Thanks for this amazing Tool!

It seems that the 3DS has problems with too high bitrates.
There must be a cap and it would be nice if you can include it in further versions.
Whats the unit for the bitrate cause the final video never has the bitrate i defined no matter what values i use.

This is an awesome tool! Takes the heartache of using bat scripts or doing it by hand. 3D Works flawlessly with all the movies i've tried in my collection. You have motivated me to drop money on a 32gb sd card just to put movies on it lol. cant wait for the 10 min part thing to be broke on the ds and a better compression to be figured out. thanks for starting the snowball down the hill! now off to watch some 3D movies cause i'm too cheap to buy a 3DTV!

Honestly, SirJar, I like your tool better. I can't figure out a way to hide command windows in wxWidgets. So mine shows them. I made mine only so I could eliminate the step of downloading youtube videos first. Please implement the downloading of youtube videos. Youtube-dl.exe is included in my package. It's what I used (uses command line)
