Never played the first one and never understood the hype surrounding it. People are really enthusiastic about this at the moment, don't really see what the big deal is....

Back in 2001, you couldn't buy a gamecube without that game, and I loved it so much!
I'm so glad luigi comes back!

Luigi's mansion was the first GameCube game I played (I bought the Zelda collection GC pack), and I really enjoyed it, but was frustrated by how short and easy it was - graphically stunning though, still one of the best looking games on GC IMHO.

I am currently re-playing it with my 4-1/2 year old son - he loves the game.

It's cool they made a sequel, though I don't think the graphical style is as good as the original - ghosts look too solid - it's also too bad they decided to release for 3DS, a high def Wii U game would have been great.

I'm sure there's a reason why this is for the 3DS.

Who knows? The Wii U is just announced. Maybe later Nintendo may make a Wii U version of it!

@Ikki - We were in the same boat, of not having played the first part. Notice "were"?? Running Luigis Mansion on Dolphin emulator, runs at a good 30 fps. I love it man!! You must try it!! Really fun game.

I loved the original so much. I can NOT wait for this (:3

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but...

On-topic, I really enjoyed the first Luigi's Mansion and, back when I played it, took a hell of a time to beat.

I agree with you both. The game was great and I loved how they used an excising Nintendo character and put him in a whole new gameplay style. Though it was a little short but gladly Raggie confirmed more then one mansion.

What do you guy think Luigis will carry around as an portable? 3DS Horror

Well, Since before when he used the "GBC" - Game Boy Horror,
Don't you mean GBH?

Nah, I meant the GBC-like Game Boy Horror

(GBH could've been a GBA with horror instead of advance, but it was a color

For everyone saying "This Should be in Wii (U)!", recall that Luigi's Mansion was meant to take advantage of the 3+1D capabilities of the GameCube, but were never utilized due to the lack of 3+1D capabilities back then. This game may be a way of making Luigi's Mansion the was the game was supposed to be played.

Me, I find interesting the high contrast between the "normal" and "vacuuming" music. Luigi also reacts more here. I wonder if we would be seeing an armour-ghost...?

This game is like a deja vu...anyone rembers Yoshi's Island 2, turned into Yoshi's Island DS just before the release?Well, it was the 11-years-later-sequel to Yoshi's Island, and it was done by an external team not great(Artoon). And it wasn't nearly as good as the original.

Now we have the 11-years-later-sequel to Luigi's Mansion, developed from an external developer who did only tie-in and sport games(Next Level Games)...I wouldn't be suprised if they will change the name if it won't be as good as the original.

Yoshi's Island DS was great. I mean.... HELICOPTER YOSHI, MAN!
Next Level Games made Mario strikers and Punch-out!! on the Wii and they're all great games.

Now I'm concerned about Luigi's Mansion.

EDIT: Wrong thread(I thought I was writing in the Nintendo E3 thread), sorry...

So many killer games for 3ds. Now this is the nintendo I remember and loved during my youth.
All we need is a sidescrolling metroid announcement and ill officially have a nintendogasm. :)
With so many great releases coming, its hard to choose which ones to pick up and which ones to wait on.

I enjoyed the Luigi's Mansion for the GC and always wanted to see a sequel for the Wii. I haven't bought a 3DS yet, but I'm going to buy one once LM is released.
