ARC Edited: Bird_Link.arc
[Download Patch]

I'll put any mods people submit at the bottom of the first post so that all of the downloads are together. Just create the xdeltaUI patch for the SPECIFIC ARC FILE (not ObjectPack.arc.LZ) !!

Sweet stuff! Here is a little pack to speed up the patching process for those who don't know how to use CLI:

You might consider uploading to your own mediafire account, since I'm probably going to delete it in a few weeks.

Upper body. Made the image 1024x512 in order to bring the texture out a bit. (it still gets downscaled though)

The game already has great textures IMO. Why changed it to something nasty looking like a purple haired Link? Make a Dungeon editor or something. :P
Dungeon editor would be great, but will result in shitty hacks (like always when users are making dungeons. I remember Zelda 3 parallel worlds x__x).

About the textures, I don't think they are that fine, they are not detailed at all.
When you look at them from far away, there is this mosaic effect, and when you look at them from near ... it's still blurry and mosaic effect without details.

But apparently like Lucif3r said, they are downscaling the textures? :glare:

Oh, and thanks for the guide :)

They are getting downscaled to whatever resolution the original is. Meaning simply applying higher resolution textures isnt working.
Theres probably a check in the texture handling code that scales the images.

The Mosaic effect in the distance is an artistic choice by the developers, and with knowledge can be removed. Not that it would be much better as the LOD objects kicks in very fast, and they are really really low poly.

When it's in the distance, I agree it's an artistic choice and it's fine.
But it's sometime also applied on nearest objects.

That's why I think they are using this artistic renderer to mask the fact the textures are not very detailed.
Sometime the textures are even made of mosaics, like the grass.

Maybe the auto-downscale is used to create this mosaic effect.
Did you try replacing with an image size multiple of the current one?

I put red eyes but it looked weird. I now know it was suppose to be the whole texture bright red. I'll fix it.

I made a much better version of the batch file. This one works with any patch, you just have to make sure that the arc and xdelta files have the same name.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/60paa4i3jhaxyuc/FastPatch.zip

Just drag and drop the unpatched arc file onto the bat file and it will output a patched version.

Much better! :D

Thanks! I'm going to try and editing the sword to make a lava sword? Lulz for effort right?

Also: I included the patch for Dark Link v2 for the full game.
Sweet. Let's just hope it doesn't kill Link when he tries to sheath it, or set all of Skyloft on fire when he slashes at grass. :D

Is there a difference in the ObjectPack.arc.LZ between the full game and demo? I don't have the demo to check.

Nice mods though, Errorjack. I'll get those and JoostinOnline's patcher into the first post.

You'll never know if they tweak any textures from the demo or some files might be missing. Just to make sure. :P
