Ok. Ive downloaded the free version on my ps3.

After downloading it and accepting the terms and conditions, theres a bar which you have to wait for it go green. What is that bar about? Theres some writing beneath it but I cant read it since my TV (those old phat ones) is old and it squashes the writing. Ive been waiting approx 1 hour and it only has approx 8% done!

how long did it take to finish this progress and what is this for?

the game is about 16GB+

you just get the launcher off the PSN

after you run that, it needs to get ALL the data and update files

depending on your connection it can take a LONG time

I believe I have a 1mb connection as well, and it takes like 1 1/2 hours per gigabyte of data, if I remember correctly...
Yeah, best bet is to leave it on overnight.

I know I have the same problem seeing the words on my TV too. I'm supposedly getting a new one though. It's taking a long time to download though.

You can resume the download by the way, I read it the other day.
I'm guessing it's safe to just return to the XMB (there's no option to actually quit the downloading), power off and launch it again in the morning or something.

I have lied to all of you. I am deeply sorry.

If it works the same way the beta did, this is true, I did that a lot to get the PS3 version.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
