i wonder why they chose the name crown? maybe they got crowned the first ppl to hack? even more stranger is that this is a new team

even even more stranger is that the number of ppl viewing this thread keeps getting higher... 368 users of which 316 are guests.

I think it's real. If you noticed they even went through the trouble of smugging the numbers on the chips on the board. This just would seem like a lot of work to make a prank.

hurrr

It could very well be real but your reasoning is terrible.
While my logic may be flawed, is that an actual home moded DS? This makes me miss the GBA SP design? Also there would be little gain for such a hoax.

My only issue is, if you have to flash a new game to it every time you want to change it what would happen to the save file? Could you export it and re-import it after taking the game off and then re-flashing it again? Or would you always have to restart?

We will find out when more news is released. Very good question that I was thinking myself.

Well there are already ways to back-up your 3DS save files from a retail cart. If the Crown is basically cloning a cart, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do the same with that.

That's if the functionality isn't included in the same method you use to get a ROM onto it.

I guess LGC was right O.o

I can see it now..

Crown3DS SHDCi; CrownGOLDi;CrownBlahBlahBlah

Though I might not buy this yet, I don't want to risk having a dead flashcart.

Useless, but interesting.

I'm inclined to think it's real as I don't see why someone would bother making a fake video, along with a fake site without ads that also includes a mailing list. Especially when you consider that they have also been contacted by distributors.

And if this is real, I don't see how Nintendo would block this. After all, it would be a 1:1 reflashable cart without an OS or anything.

What...

Why would there be a Crown3DS SDHCi?

I´m amazed how you people from developed countrys still found this kind of crap, here in Brasil we don´t have an offical price for our 3DSs, every store sell to a price that it whant it, the common price for the 3S here is 799 Reais, our money, just imagine you people buyng a 3DS for US$ 799,00, how do you like that ?
Other issue here is the price of games, the most common price for any game here is R$ 199,00 , and we brasilians are forced to import games from US or China, and have to whait one entire month to play it, if our mail officers dont still our games for themselfs and if we got lucky for no extra taxing. You people can simple go out your houses, enter a store near your home and buy the game you whant paying the price that Nintendo say it to pay and still there is people that found flashcarts, fucke this !

Agreed with you dude, the games are very expensive on brasil, but this flash card cost 99$, we can amost buy a psp with it =P

I wonder if we'll be using SDXC memory cards @_@

Another good question. From what I gather, it has built in memory at this point. The retail version may have expandable storage space. With the size of games upwards of 4GB possible for 3DS, we would need SDXC if we want more than 32GB at one time.

This is good but as I mentioned before, I would much rather have the option to play and select from many 3DS roms then only the one. Just think of how tedious thats gonna be. Put one game on then you'll have to turn your Lappy/PC back on for another and another. I think in the long run I'll be waiting on the side lines for the Acekard team to release there 3DS flash cart cause you can bet dollars to donuts they're already working on one!

Maybe they are going for the "Most Elaborate Trolling" award.

Well, if these guys have picked up on the technology, and it's real, then we should expect something similar from other flashcart manufacturers, don't you think? They'd probably be able to acquire technology like this and assemble it for personal use.
