Shown after the 3DS Conference, they showed various other games, including this game. It shows them playing it with action on the top screen, with making the motions on the touch screen.
Hm.... As a true Final Fantasy fan, I can say from the bottom of my heart this game is freaking stupid. I have finished and re-played almost every Final Fantasy (exception of 11 and 12) cause the story lines are amazing and I agree with what one wrote not too far back about this wont be even near as popular if it did not consist of Final Fantasy in the title. It just seems $ony is milking the title for all it's worth instead of trying to improve it.
I think it's sad when I can not even consider playing a series I love so much; I love Final Fantasy so much I even named my son after "Cloud" from Final Fantasy 7. Please $ony release some good titles with it's name not some crap only a 2 year old would enjoy.

I think it's too early to say things like 'it looks too easy' and such having only seen such little footage. But the concept of this, if the gameplay is anywhere near as good as Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! then I'm sold. A lot of people forgetting just how good Final Fantasy music is and if this is anything like Ouendan x FF music, I'm excited.
What's 100% understandable though is the art style is real hit or miss with people, I personally don't mind since I'm into that Japanese cutesy anime stuff. Oh and being a Japanese rhythm game.. I don't think people will need to be too concerned at difficulty being too easy lol.

Rhythm game + Final Fantasy based characters/music (especially the older ones) = sold.
Just because some people don't enjoy the music and/or rhythm doesn't mean the game instantly sucks. Maybe you can't keep up with the beat, have poor reflexes, don't like music, but don't bash the game just because it doesn't suit your interests. As said numerous times in this thread, we haven't even seen the full scope of the game yet, I mean, when it comes and and the gameplay turns out horrible, fine then. But until then, snap judgments shouldn't be made.
My personal case point:

TWEWY (DS) is critically acclaimed, yet I tried it and didn't like it, never touched it again. Does that mean the game sucked? On the other end of the spectrum, both professional and amateur reviewers criticized Lord of Arcana as a generally bad game, but I enjoy the game play a lot, as well as how tedious combat (especially with bosses) becomes. One man's "trash" is another man's treasure, after all.

Yup, It seems Square has finally killed it's franchise. Since it merged with ENIX, the games have steadily become more and more GAY. I miss turn based RPGs.
It looks like the whole game is played via rhythm. When I saw Final Fantasy I though, sweet a 3D FF game. Now I'm kinda bummed out.
I wish they'd remake some of the classics in 3D. FF3 and 4 where awesome on the DS and in stereoscopic they would rock. Same for Chrono Trigger. Then again so would the already 3D games like 7,8,9,10,12 etc. As for this game, when I get a 3DS I'll probably skip it.

I downloaded XP on dialup when it came out. Overnights for like a week. cuz I couldn't tie up the phone line during the day. It was so awesome and worked so great going from ME to XP. -
