I am posting this to let you guys knows how much respect I (and most people have) for your work, you took what was a game that was never gonna see the light of day as far as translation goes into such rapidly increased progress, it's a work of dedication and patience, I wish there were more people as hard working as you in most translation and localization companies, you were just a bunch of guys and in a matter of months you did what no other person was capable (or cared to do) for this game

mad props to you guys, and thank you for all the hard work

Ehhh...I'd say we're halfway done in terms of how much work is left. The good news is that the work load of the next part (beta-testing) will be shared among more people and it's something that doesn't require as much skill (as in translating) so there won't be a shortage of people who can do it. So if anyone out there knows how to create cheat codes, we would greatly appreciate if someone could make one to unlock all of the trophies. I think he doesn't want the translation, but a way to see the translated text in game, to see if it fit the menus length/height.

So, he need either someone who completed the game with all the trophies, or a cheat code to unlock all of them.
I tried searching for a cheatcode, but I don't have a lot of choice on trophies (I unlocked only 2 of them in the first chapter), and can't get back to title screen/load another save slot to make more memory comparisons.

Maybe we could just edit the save file, if there's no checksum and encoding.

I already unlocked the first trophy by defeating Gigant, the S rank trophy, and an Item trophy (I don't know how, I re-did the first mission again in S rank).

I've updated the script editor that will let you preview the text, the same way it appears in-game (except for the color).
You can find it here, and to use it just go to "Tools" -> "Preview", load the font (the .nftr one, not the .dpk one) and copy the text to the textbox.

*slash*Yes, that's what I was talking about. But as Cyan said, we're not having problems translating them. We've already translated all of the titles (trophies) and their descriptions, but I need a cheat code that unlocks them all in the game so we don't have to spend time unlocking them ourselves just to see if our translations fit on the screen.

This is great, Tricky! With this tool a cheat code to unlock all the titles won't be necessary. It would still be ideal if we had a code, but this will help a lot! Thanks!

Is there any way you can make it display text colors and other code properly?

I'll try again to find a cheatcode.
I unlocked the first 3 trophies of the game, but it seems not enough to search a code (I got too many results).

It's good that there's a visual editor, because I'm sure there are trophies that nobody unlocked yet, like:
"Clear 100 missions in wireless communication"

D2000000 00000000Yeah, phoenix PM'd me to say that this code is in the most updated cheat database. I guess it wasn't in the cheat file DS1 or I were using, but phoenix tested the code and sent me a screenshot showing the unlocked titles, so we're good to go!

They are called -honors-

In Japanese, the word they use in the game is ??, which translates into "title." But in this screenshot, they're called "honors." The word -HONORS- in that screenshot is part of the background image, so we can't change it (unless someone knows how to extract the image and we Photoshop the word -TITLES- into the image). So in order to stay consistent, we'll probably end up changing our translation of ?? from "titles" to "honors."

I prefer the word honors than titles.

But I think it should depend how the trophies are named.

"killed gigant" is more like an honor (You did it, it's a great honor!)
"Gigant killer" is a title

(you are a killer!)

Although what you say makes sense, it's impossible for us to make that distinction in the game because they're all placed into one list together. We can't separate them into two lists called "titles" and "honors" short of obtaining the source code for the game and rewriting parts of it. Not I would know how to do that even if we did have the source code.

So we have to stick with one word for them all. Although "title" is the correct translation for ??, if we stick with "title" it won't be consistent with the background image, which says "honors." We can't change the image, but we can change our translation so they'll both say "honors," thus eliminating the inconsistency.
