Loved the first two.

Unfortunately, this seems to be another RCT ruined by poors external developers (never liked n-Space)

I do hope thought that this isn't the RCT4 that was rumoured about a year ago
it's not rct 4 is coming either early next year or near the end of the year.

Whew, though when did they announce that? I didn't even know they were definitely going through with it

Other than Bomberman 3DS

, this is a game I would buy the 3DS so I could play.

Yes, RCT and RCT2 were good, while RCT3 failed. Chris Sawyer had control over the first two. He had little involvement in RCT3 and no involvement of RCT4 (which will not be named Roller Coaster Tycoon, according to Atari).

All three games work on Windows 7x64, as I have re-installed and played them.

For me, these games don't last very long.

Basically, I build giant death trap and turn my customers into unwitting victims. It's a great way to blow off steam, but it gets old soon enough.

My all time favorite was RT2.
I loved the graphics for that game.
And everything was amazing. Don't know what happened to 3. hated it.

Hope it's nothing like 3.
I felt the same way about the third game, and most people did after playing the first two.

I never gave the third one a real chance until about two or three months ago. I hated it at first, but I play every day now. The expansions are amazing for it.

From the looks of it (The one screenshot), it looks like a watered down version of RCT3. I don't see how it could possibly better than the third game because... the 3DS is much more limited than the PC in many ways.

I still think it will be amazing. As long as it controls well, I'll be addicted to it.

That would really depend on the PC you're comparing. Visually, the 3DS should be able to somewhat replicate the game. 3DS is comparable to consoles of the time and there wasn't really anything visually special about the third. Control wise you'll have the touch screen for the mouse stuff and all potential icons, with the analog stick for moving around the park. I can easily see the 3DS doing the series justice. It'll at least be able to surpass the first two (i played those perfectly on an old Pentium 1 without even a 3D accelerated GPU). I see no reason how it should be a compromise. At the very least in terms of gameplay.

I'm really not getting the negativity towards this game in this thread. Besides the fact that we know next to nothing about the game, the current details we DO know seem to indicate it's being pretty faithful to the series. n-Space is also a competent developer. Their games at least have a certain level of polish IMO. I could see it working well. But it's foolish to making stupid assumptions and say it sucks before you even play it (or even know much about it).

what rct 3 is awesome exps with the soaked expansion what other game lets you build rollercoasters and waterslides careening through giant waterfalls! see for yourself: HERE
can't wait to see what they do with rct4 but as for this 3ds version looks MEH.

Wasn't really talking about graphics, but yeah meant controls. Also, bigger screen means larger viewing area.

I think they'll make it work fine.

And... I never said it sucks. This is one of my most anticipated games right now...

Is that even from the 3DS? Even if it is, it most likely a early build. Does even really look like a screenshot? It looks really weird, being so fuzzy.

Yeah, it is the 3DS version. It looks like it was scanned in from a magazine. Not sure though. Not in any magazines as far as I know.

I know you didn't say it sucks. Sorry for not quoting properly, the sucking comment was not directed at you at all. Some others in the thread were dismissing it for no reason whatsoever (or because it's developed by n-Space). Specifically, Satangel was actually assuming the scores it would actually get and RJ Sly 95 just dismissed it on n-Space alone. N-Space is actually a decent developer. Their games are at least pretty darn polished in general, technically speaking. As of this time, there's absolutely no proof that it will be at all bad. From the roster of information we know so far, it actually looks like it holds a lot of promise. The 3DS has plenty of power to do justice to a PC strategy experience (at the very least, games from the early to mid 2000's). More so than the DS for sure. The touchscreen is practically begging for games like this (and a couple of RTS and strategy games on the DS were really fun).

And btw, yes that screenshot is a scan. That's why it looks all washed out and grainy. It of course won't look all fuzzy like that. We'll probably get some direct feed screens soon, likely in September. This scan and information all came from the latest issue of Nintendo Power. The November issue i believe (but the one meant for release in September of course, damn stupid monthly issues making no sense). Some people have received their copy early. You'll see the actual issue within a week or so on the magazine rack (or your subscription).

We need to remember that this game is built from stratch.

This is not a remake of the old games, so they will need to make a game that works perfectly on the 3DS

1st and 2nd are some of my favorite games of all time. The 3rd is good but not nearly as good as the first 2. I hope this leans more towards the first 2.

RCT3 is great if you play it at face value and try not to compare it with the first 2.... huge RCT1&2 fan here, and while I'll never say RCT3 is as good, I'm really enjoying it at full whack graphics with my new ATi card!

RCT 3DS? Yeah I'm interested! Ride mode would be good fun (and finally a good use for the 3D which I use for about 5 minutes on every new game until the novelty wears off!)
Good news (as is the Theme Park remake for iOS) - the genre is back!!
