I wanted to wait for an early price drop, but after seeing my local Costco today I was disappointed by the fact it was still $259.99. Well, eventually I decided to just bite the bullet and buy their bundle. So, I got their bundle with an "executive case kit". For those who don't know, its a pouch case, screen protectors, and a car charger. Further to my horror, it seems the money grubbers in my state have actually decided anything that has a presence in CA must apply sales tax, online or not. So, meh, I'm mixed about this. But it is a 3DS so I should be happy, right? I am still in ambassador after all.

I got 2 so far prolly gonna get a 3rd tomorrow or early this week, ambassador program and money back when they go on sale==win...

I went to Wal-Mart in Canada, British Columbia. And I had a 10% off card. But even before I used it, the price was $190 + tax, which brought it up to $220.00.

Well from my pov it's $310 locally before tax for the 3ds, kit and game. $250 for the 3ds by itself before the sale. $170 sale time, if my math is correct that's $80. Game is $40 and kit is $30 that would be $70 so it's still cheaper in the long run by $10 and free games LOL

Quite a chunk of change if I do say so myself. But Costco has this price matchy thing where I bring my receipt in on the 12th and get $80 back due to the price cut.

They're not going to. Nintendo, much like M$ and $ony, is after your money. They may not be the greediest, but you know they'll not pass up a chance to squeeze a few extra dollars out of our pockets.

They're not going to. Nintendo, much like M$ and $ony, is after your money. They may not be the greediest, but you know they'll not pass up a chance to squeeze a few extra dollars out of our pockets.

But you see, they won't do it quickly. The price of buying at a discount may mean waiting a year, maybe even two. By then though, those games will slowly start creeping out. It won't matter though, as the ambassadors will be the minority group of 3DS owners at that point in time.

I'm glad Oregon has no sales tax. I'm planning to get a 3ds on Friday when the price drops.

Oh yea Oregon doesn't huh? Well, they may if that bloody bill keeps getting passed. -_-. Btw even though tax in state differs county to county, you will get charged the highest tax rate in your state. Is there a way to change my eShop zip code to get around this? >.>

If they put in sales tax in Oregon, they have to drop the property tax. Our property tax is the highest, or at least damn close to being the highest in the nation because of the lack of sales tax. Not bad if you aren't a property owner, fairly terrible if you are.

Nothing wrong with owning, it's just more expensive than it is elsewhere.

Well, apparently it isn't as high as in places like NJ from some research, but then again, there is no preset rate. I guess it varies by county, like so many things seem to do in this state.

Oh wow, you really wanted to get those 10 exclusive GBA games.

I bought mine on launch for 229.99 Euro, and 3 games for the price of 2.

In your situation, I would've looked for a shop either selling it either with the price drop early, or wait till the 12 August though, and get a flashcart with GBA support.
