What is R4Menu?
It's like a hacked version of Moonshell 2, YSMenu and the original R4 firmware combined.
It plays .NDS games but cheats are only in Japanese. It DOES NOT play music or videos (for that use Moonshell 2).
Moonshell2 skins are apparently working, though I think you'll have to unpack and edit the .INI file... Or something like that. In other words, you'll have to edit the .skn file. Don't bother unless you actually know what you're doing

Installation Guide
It's suggested you download my modified version, because it's in English and some other small things.
Unpack the .rar file (If you don't know how to, search winRAR on Google)
Place the R4Menu on the root of your card. If you want it as a firmware replacement, place _DS_MENU.DAT on the root of your card as well.
If you want it as a homebrew, put R4Menu.nds in your apps folder and launch it with your firmware.
I suggest using Wood R4 as your firmware, trust me it's much better than this. But I still keep this on my card as a .NDS file, it's worth keeping

Bugs/notes
-It loads Ds games, but the English cheats aren't working properly. The Japanese USRCHEAT.DAT from the original link works but it's Japanese. My modified English version cheats don't seem to work
-It uses extinfo and savlib, so you can update those for Anti-Piracy (it doesn't use infolib)
-Moonshell2 skins need to be altered for them to work. I'm not really sure how to do this, don't ask me
-The first button brings up your file browser, the second opend Moonshell2 if installed and the thrid button brings up a list of options qhich you can change to your liking.
-The .nds file has the Moonshell icon, perhaps Fairy Wings didn't realise this
-It's loading games pretty fast
-I suggest not to use this as your firmware, use Wood R4. But still keep this as a homebrew

Modified makeskin.exe made by Carpfish that you can find in Ez skin forger tool can unpack and pack those skin. The ez5 kernel use Moonshell2 type3 skin.

I downloaded the latest usrcheat, savlib and extinfo dat files (v6.2) from filetrip. I extracted them directly to my micro sd card (J:/R4Menu) where the old files are located, but when I rebooted my DS and tried to load any of my nds roms, it just showed "WAITING..." on the screen and never went anywhere else.
What's going on here? Have I done something wrong?

I stumbled on this again and know it uses the DSTT files for games, but every time I update the files, it only stays on waiting. Anyone know how to fix that?

Unfortunately, I probably don't know enough about it...but I ended up getting strange results with what I attempted to do...The closest I got to it almost working was manually edit the entry into the extinfo.dat (attempted to use Solatorobo)...Unfortunately, it ended with some "Error code F" or something...possibly someone could try one of the older RGF updates from before the modified r4patch.dat was needed (yay my lack of knowledge, I don't even know what the file does)...and this is where i got lazy
...
It has a very nice layout and everything but there's really no point if the cheats have to be Japanese and you have to use moonshell for music and videos. Though I've downloaded it and will test it and see if Pokemon Black works regardless of the fact that I won't have YSMenu on at the time.
