Greetings, this thread it's because i've been having issues with my wii and USB Loaders.

Let's see, i started about a year ago, but for some family issues i didn't really used it, so for about 5 months i gave my Wii to a friend, he played lots of games and got me some too.

When i received back my Wii, it worked perfectly, but after a month it started freezing at the middle of a game, other games wouldn't load and a lot of blackscreens.
I decided to erase the cfg Loader AND everything on my HDD linked to my Wii and worked perfectly again, i guessed it was a bad dump that corrupted something.

Some weeks later this happened again, but instead i tried using another UBS Loader, and tried Wiiflow, it worked for some weeks then the same happened. I did this for USB Loader GX too.

So about 2 weeks ago, the same thing happened and i updated all of my Wii cIOS and USB Loader GX, it worked for a while but now im getting again the black screens, freeze between games, and one thing i noticed, it's that if i connect my HDD to the other USB port on my wii (not the one at the edge), the games would load, REALLY Slow, but they do work.

Is there something i could do to fix this? is getting on my nerves, specially when playing something like Just Dance 2 and have to stop in the middle of the song.

Thanks.

sounds like the hdd, is going to sleep mode. do as spongeroberto said. check your hdd. you might still have the preloaded software, an need to rewrite the drive to all 0's then reformat it to a fat32,32k.. i think most people are formatting to this now, since it's more compatible. just back up all the games before fomating, it will erase all games. or ust psyblades formatter it works good with out having to remove any thing. but if the hd is going to sleep, you need to do it the first way ..just to get rid of the preloaded crap.

Thanks for the replies, and mine's a 320GB HDD Verbatim, it didn't have any problems at the beginning but it's being really annoying lately.

I was thinking if there's a cIOS or App that could load the games from the other USB Port without slowing down.

Hermes Cios have support for the other usb port, and recent versions of usbloader_gx should be able to use it. Latest waninkoko base cios should have such support as well. Both cios use a custom ehci driver, so they should have the same speed as the other usb port.

I would follow the suggestions you get here, and try it with another harddisk or an usb stick. If the same problems show up, you know it's not your harddisk causing problems. I doubt it's the usb port itself causing issues.
