A new hack was released that restores the original color of the SNES version of Final Fantasy VI to the newer GBA version. The game no longer suffers from the washed out palette given to the port. This will make playing the game on newer handhelds or displays that have a backlight more visually pleasing.

Coupling together both the color and sound restoration hacks now available, the GBA port is effectively the ideal version to play. The only real downside anymore is that the game has very minor framerate lagging at times (which is so minor now it's not even very noticeable considering the improvements).

I uploaded the file to filetrip, so go ahead and grab it. It seems compatible with the sound restoration hack, so yay!

The sound is only for the (E) version then? Seems like I'll need to grab that version and apply both of the patches. The GBA emulator works better than the SNES emulator on the PSP anyways, so this will be nice.

Thanks for the heads up.

Nice! I already have a version with the Sound Restoration and the Translation Compromise, this was the only thing really missing. I love the hacking community sometimes.

The pic on the bottom seems too dark now.
That's how it was intended to be. Narshe dark mining town, very moody and cool atmosphere that was sadly lost somewhat in the GBA port. The game is now how it was intended to look, not washed out and retina-scorching bright. This is how Narshe looked on SNES-

@Nathan Drake

Yeah. EU version targeted the largest amount of languages, so the patch was released for that rom. I'm not complaining. I'm an English speaker, but the more languages the merrier.
